Camp in a backyard in a quiet area with a barn and horses nearby. Site 1 has water hookup and a 30 amp and 110 outlet available. Site 2 has water access and a 110 outlet available. Site 3 is for tent camping only and is more secluded. It does have water access available. These sites are a great spot to watch the sunset or watch the stars at night. These all are self contained camping spots. I do have two very friendly dogs that will most likely come say hi to you. Dewey Beer is 1 mile away in Harbeson. Lewes beach is only about 10 minutes away and Rehoboth beach is about 20 minutes away. Sports at the beach is only 5 miles away. Tanger outlets is 8 miles away. Delaware Turf sports complex is 24 miles. There are many great restaurants and shopping nearby. You can also bring your bikes and ride the bike trail from our lane to Lewes or Rehoboth! HORSES WELCOME! Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day. There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay. We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. It can easily sleep six people. If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area. The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in. This is a sanctuary for our animals. We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies). By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals. We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks. There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores. If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles. We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up. We believe this is Heaven on earth and would love to share it will you. So please come, stay at our farm and relax. We are here year round.

Our farm spans 41 acres. Thirty-one acres hold our homestead, while the remaining 10 acres, your camping sanctuary—sitting along side a dirt road, separated by a peaceful non-tidal creek. This setting allows you to unplug while staying close to popular destinations like Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, and Ocean City, MD, as well as Milford, Milton, Rehoboth, and Lewes, DE
all within an hour.
We’ve intentionally created an off-grid, calming nature experience. You’ll be surrounded by forest, open farmland and abundant wildlife. Native gardens, fruit trees, nut trees and herbs were planted near the tent areas in September 2024, offering beauty and a deeper connection to the land.
Enjoy thoughtfully placed gathering spaces throughout the forest, including a whimsical Forest Tea Party area and Uncontained, our cozy repurposed shipping container—perfect for reading, board games, or shelter during a summer pop-up thunderstorm. A nature -made hammock area amongst tall pine trees is perfect for afternoon naps and are provided by us (7) Fire-pit seating, picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and a propane cooktop are also available.
Walk the short Jeremiah Dixon/Charles Mason Trail, a path similar to one they would have taken in the 1700s. Follow it through the forest and across the creek to our homestead, where you can place one foot in Maryland and one in Delaware at the historic Mason–Dixon marker beneath an old wild cherry tree.
Before heading back, stop at the main farm gate to visit our friendly goats—Dixie, Dolly, and Star.

The Painted Pony is one of two beautiful Lotus Belle yurts we have pitched here at our ranch. Inside the space is a comfy queen-sized bed with clean linens, a sitting area with books and major western-boho vibes.
You'll be happy to know the property has WIFI access so you can easily keep up with work and play along with being just minutes from popular beaches. Cowtown Cabins is centrally located and 6 miles from North Ocean City, MD and down the street from Mc Donald's, Starbucks, grocery stores and even a pharmacy nearby! Everything you could want will be at your fingertips.

LOCATION:
Cowtown is located in Selbyville, Delaware which sits near the border of Maryland and is very close to Ocean City, MD. The property has been a horse-rescuing ranch for over two decades and currently has two Old West mini-cabins, two yurts, a Garden Hideaway Tiny House, and a barndominium called the Swedish Cowboy all available to rent year-round.
Cowtown Glamping Cabins will stay open for families, reunions, groups, organizations, retreats, and even the occasional western-themed wedding.

FAQ's
1. Can I bring my kids? Children must be ages 12yo and up for both yurts (Stargazer Yurt and Painted Pony ) however it's important to remember there is a 2-guest max due to fire code.
2. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We are ADA service animal exempt due to safety issues with animals on display that are natural prey/ natural predators of animals including dogs. We also not not allow pets due to this.
3. Can I smoke? The yurts are strictly NO smoking inside, no vaping and no marijuana smoking as the next guest will appreciate an odorless welcome and you'll avoid the extra "deep cleaning fee."
4. Which yurt should I choose? The main difference between the Painted Pony yurt and the Stargazer yurt is the roof and setting. The Stargazer yurt has a clear roof and sits in the open. (Keep in mind elements out of our control like wind, dust, and pollen counts can make the Stargazer yurt roof less clear.) The Painted Pony yurt, has a regular canvas roof and sits in the shade. Both yurts have 3-speed fans included and do not have AC or heat.
5. Extra guests in the yurt? The yurts have a strict 2-guest-only policy.
6. Can friends (not on my reservation) come visit me? No. All visitors here must be registered guests as the public is not granted access here.
7. How far is the beach? North Ocean City, MD and Fenwick Island DE are both only 5-6 miles away.
8. How secure is the camping area? There is a coded entrance gate at the property entrance along with 6 outdoor security cameras that stay on 24 hours a day for guest and livestock safety. The locations are 2 at the entrance gate, barn house entrance/building overhang, tiny house entrance, horse grooming area, parking area, and inside the stables. These outdoor cameras also record at night and are available for any emergency services to review.
9. Are there animals nearby? Yes! Cowtown is named after our unique Scottish Highland bull with one horn up and one down. You'll see “Herbie” peacefully grazing in a nearby pasture along with horses, goats, an alpaca, a sheep, a rare curly-haired pig, a peacock, and fancy top-hat chickens that all call the ranch home.
10. Participating in a guest activity is mandatory here. We have FREE indoor scavenger hunts and the FREE Name Challenge memory game. Our most popular experience is "Chores N' Tour” where you meet up with Shelley to feed and get up close and personal while feeding 20+ animals. Go ahead! take selfies with Fonzie the kissing alpaca, play the rollover challenge with Charlotte the pig, and hay the jumping goats. As a bonus, Shelley will also let you check out the inside of any unoccupied Airbnbs on the property to plan your next trip! Chores N' tour is $10/ person. 1 hr. long. Also on-site, are Brush N' Bond horse grooming sessions, horse whispering lessons, and farm animal paint sessions. Once you book, send Shelley a message with your chosen ranch activity!
11. Do guests have access to the entire ranch? No, guests have access to the glampground, cornhole, and parking area here at the ranch. The rest of the property is reserved for our animal rescue (habitats) and fenced off for safety. Animals are easily viewed from all locations while the goats can be pet and fed anytime if you bring some baby carrots or string beans.
12. What sounds can I expect to hear? Expect to hear typical sounds of nature such as crickets, owls, and the crackling of a fire. In the morning, you'll hear our sweet goat trio, Charlotte the pig, and her excited "oinks" along with the occasional "moooo" and possibly a crow from the rooster and a "honk" from Petey our peacock who is ready for breakfast!
13. What are the check-out procedures? We ask that guests leave the yurt the way they found it (neat and tidy.) We also love to brag about any super clean guests!

We had our tear drop camper at site 11 on the end. Beautiful scenic view of the water. Peaceful and quiet. We traveled out this way to visit Trap Pond state park. We chose this site because we like a more quiet camping experience and the state parks are usually booked out. We were greeted by the owner, provided a picnic table, trash can, umbrella, wood and a fire pit! We will recommend to friends. Our first stay with the Hipcamp community was a success! My dogs and I enjoyed a great 3-night stay at this oasis. It was an ideal base for aquatic adventures and we had a great time fishing, exploring, and relaxing. The energetic and accommodating hosts work hard and give everything a warm and welcoming family vibe.
The pond provided great angling, with plenty of eager largemouth bass and some really beefy bluegill plus a scattering of chain pickerel. It was marvelous having it all just steps from our tent.

This was the perfect place for our family to get away and enjoy some quality family time. We had a blast fishing the pond (we caught bass, pickerel and sunnies) and our six kids enjoyed the water slide most of all. Everyone we met during our stay was friendly, the owner was welcoming and has seriously thought of everything. We were offered the use of a canoe during our stay, life jackets provided for all ages and we even had the privilege of a boat ride around the pond. If you are looking for a place where you will want to come back again and again this is the place. We truly enjoyed having the opportunity to share in the owners little slice of heaven and hope to come back. Very dog and kid friendly: we are a family of 8 + dog.

We stayed at this cute little campsite for two nights and really enjoyed our time here. It’s such a pretty and peaceful little place! The owner was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to meet her in person because our schedule was so busy, but she was wonderful to communicate with.
The little house in the middle of the property was adorable, and the portable bathroom was surprisingly very clean and well kept. We didn’t get a chance to use the shower during our stay, so I can’t really comment on that.
My kids especially had so much fun feeding the turtle—it was definitely one of the highlights for them!
My only real complaint was the amount of daddy longlegs around the campsite. There were quite a lot of them, which made us a little uncomfortable at times. Of course, we were camping and bugs are part of being outdoors, but there were definitely more than we expected. 😂
Overall, it was a charming little campsite, and we enjoyed our two-night stay!

Small home town venue with a very friendly camp feel. The lake was great and watching the water skiing was so cool. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We had site 1 and our guest in site 2 was awesome. Pet friendly was a major plus. I’m sure we will be back. Great stay.

Great camping spot at a horse farm for a solo female traveler with a spot to use my small fire pit with grill to cook breakfast on the campfire. Easy to find and a short drive to the beach!

We loved this campsite! Our host Ron was very friendly and helpful and gave us all we needed for a comfortable stay. The campsite is unique and lovely with a private feeling of being in nature and tucked away. It is spacious and has beautiful shade trees too. We hope to return!

I had a great time at Givens Pond. The views were beautiful and it was peaceful. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. There was another couple there and they were water skiing all around the pond. They even gave me a boat ride around the pond. All in all in was great time and I will definitely be going back for another weekend.

Redden State Forest
Sleep under the stars in one of Delaware'ss largest forests. Redden State Forest caters to all kinds of campers. You can book a tent site with access to the park’s biking, hiking, and horseback riding trails. Campsites remain open year-round, so you can grill, roast s’mores, and cozy up during your Delaware getaway.
Killens Pond State Park
Head North of Redden State Forest to Killens Pond State Park. As the name suggests, the park is all about the water. You can fish, kayak, and canoe on-site, as well as explore the park’s waterpark. The whole family will enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk, while the nature center is a bird-watcher’s dream. Campsites remain open year-round, with tent sites, cabin rentals, and RV sites with hookups.
Cape Henlopen State Park
Set on an old military base, Cape Henlopen State Park has it all: history, trails, campsites— oh, and did we mention beaches? The park overlooks Delaware Bay, so campsites are never far from the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the best of Delaware beaches, like Lewes Beach. Camp at Tall Pines Campground Resort for your choice of cabin, RV, or tent campsite. Or, head south along the Indian River inlet. Stop at Delaware Seashore State Park, and check-in to a family-friendly RV park, tent campsite, or resort of your choosing.
When to go
The Atlantic Ocean stuns year-round, but Delaware is a coastal state—so come when you can most enjoy the coast. For some campers, that means tent camping in the summer, when Delaware beaches peak. For other campers, however, the shoulder seasons are the perfect time for a Delaware rental. Book an RV campsite with a bathhouse, picnic table, and wifi, and you may not notice if the weather sours.
