Treehouse Magic sits on an 80-acre horse ranch 6476 feet above Sea level (+ 20 feet for the treehouse!!) Built by hand, with love, and a little help from our friends over a 4-year period. Treehouse Magic is built around PAL an over 80+-year-old Ponderosa Pine.
This wonderful space is magical in every way! Only 300 sq. feet with an almost 1100 sq. foot deck, including the covered gnome room. The upstairs bedroom is a full mattress (14" gel mattress). There is also a fold-out couch to sleep 1. The main level couch will fold down and become another bed platform. We provide a CordaRoys transformable chair, that unzips and becomes the bed topper (plus extra sheets, blankets and pillows). Some of the kid guests like to sleep in the Gnome room in the "pop-up" tent and cots (during the Summer months). We provide a "smart movie projector" with built-in ROKU, for a movie night...The outdoor kitchen includes a PitBoss pellet smoker/grill, and propane griddle. The kitchen has a 2-burner gas stove and a small refrigerator. The bathroom has a Nature's Head composting toilet... (a little tutorial is needed) a sink and a trough step-in tub/shower with rain head. Wifi- Roku on inside TV as well or just the calm of beautiful nature!
Please note: This is a real treehouse!! Running water will be turned off from Nov-April (except for warm days and we can turn on for a short time). We will be sure you have plenty of potable water for drinking and using.

We began this venture in 2012 by purchasing 35 acres overlooking a 7000 acre homestead that was sold to a developer who is selling acreage from 35 - 500 acre parcels. We are located on the beautiful eastern plains of Colorado southeast of Denver. Rolling hills dotted with Ponderosa pines that encourage wildlife to settle in. Pikes Peak, Longs Peak and Mount Evans are all visible on clear days. We have 35 acres and raised alpaca’s until recently, chickens, cats and dogs as well as a large garden. We are totally off grid and enjoy life in the home my husband built using trees he cut down and milled on his sawmill. We lived on the property in a 400sq ft cottage while building the house. We have numerous camping spots available in a small grove of Ponderosa Pines or on the plains if you want a clear view of the stars at night! A rustic outhouse is available close by as is a water hydrant. Parking is available close by.
We added the Bijou Tree House to our options a couple years ago! It is a one room cabin (sleeps 2on a queen size built in bed) with an incredible picture window that frames Pikes Peak beautifully. It is nestle among some old Ponderosa Pines; sports a cute but tiny wood burning stove; bar table in front of the window; deck with seating and a propane camp chef 2 burner stove. A hammock is available for use and private outhouse just a few feet away.
We love sharing our story, our home and the beautiful place God has gifted us with people from all over the world and hope to host you as well. Come Camp and relax. Watch and listen to the birds; the deer and antelope really do play here. Just this morning two little fawns were chasing each other through the gully. Know Before You Book
Yakalo Ranch follows Leave No Trace principles. This is an intentionally rustic camping experience, so guests should arrive prepared to pack it in and pack it out. Native terrain, wildlife and changing mountain conditions are part of the experience.
If you're looking for paved campsites, manicured grounds and resort-style camping, Yakalo probably isn't your place.
But if you're looking for a quiet tent, a mountain trail, running water nearby, wildlife outside your campsite and a little Colorado adventure…

We have some amazing hiking trails and Arapahoe National Forest in our backyard! Maxwell National Trailhead is 9 mins from the property with free parking and free entrance. Cub Creek Trail Head is also around the corner.
Evergreen Lake- 15 min car ride. Fishing, kayaking, picnic.
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre- 30 min car ride. Summer concerts, and movie nights at the park.
Our property is at 10,000 feet in the foothills of the Rockies. The last mile is unpaved and has some steep inclines.
We receive quite a lot of snow (Oct-May). We require that guests use AWD/4WD vehicles and winter tires to safely access our dome during snow months. Please check weather conditions and follow Colorado traction laws.

Weekend Trip to Aspen Forest in Evergreen Colorado
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable and the sauna is a nice touch. Caution that the bed is up on a lot that you need to climb a ladder to get to although the couch does convert if needed. Also at the price point I expected more privacy, the house is on a fairly small property with two other rentals and to allow for a 24 hour stay, check in was at 4:00 PM and check out at 11:00 AM

We had the best time! Dan is a phenomenal host. He gave us great information on things to do around the area, showed us places to see wildlife, and was always available if we had questions. We really enjoyed the cabin and also seeing the deer every morning. I highly recommend Dan’s place. We hope to be able to return!

We had a nice relaxing get away at the a frame. The sunrise can’t be beat. It had everything we needed. It felt secluded while also close enough we could run to the gas station when we forgot ice. Will keep it on our list of places to stay again. Thanks!!!

Weekend Trip to Private 120-Acre Horse Sanctuary
Really beautiful property and the tent setup was cozy! We loved staying here and seeing the herd of horses, mules, donkeys, and even goats! Would definitely recommend anyone to check this spot out!

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was super clean, accommodations for our pet (bowls, crate) were a nice touch. The kids loved getting to walk the goats and meet puppies! Nice quiet time for the family, yet close to the springs to get out, and such wonderful hosts. Thank you for everything - we will definitely be back!

The tent and the bath house were both amazing! The view was also mesmerizing and Sabin was great with communication. If traveling further distances without a cooler, like us, the food situation is not ideal due to limited fridge space and not being able to have food in the tent—but that’s on us! The tent also got quite warm during the hot summer days but was fantastic during the cooler nights (and I imagine great during cooler spring and fall days). We would definitely recommend for a night for a RedRocks show or with more planning.

Stephanie is an amazing host, she was very communicative, helpful and understanding to our needs. The A-frame offered epic views that are unmatched. The setup is cozy, and private, allowing for a very secluded feeling. The furnishings and amenities such as the propane burners and the battery pack gave us the opportunity to cook and charge throughout the week. Whether we were outside under moon and the stars, peeking through the pines, or watching the sunrise over Castle Rock, from the comfort of the A-frame, every moment we spent here came with breathtaking beauty serenity. We will absolutely be returning, and we will be raving about this stay for years to come, patiently waiting for our opportunity to return.

This was my second time booking with Grayson at Florissant Farms, and at this point it’s quickly becoming a birthday tradition! 🥂
Just like my first stay, Grayson had everything we could possibly need and the site was comfortable, well thought-out, and such a perfect little escape. There was a fire ban during our stay, but Grayson even had a gas fire pit available so we could still enjoy that cozy nighttime-by-the-fire experience without missing a beat.
Fantastic host, fantastic property, and another wonderful birthday weekend in the books. I’ll obviously be booking again! 🌲✨

Drive in was not hard in a sedan. The area is on a hill so not the best for hiking. Go to Staunton park which is 30 mins away.

Weekend Trip to Aspen Forest in Evergreen Colorado
This was an incredibly peaceful getaway for me and my partner to celebrate my birthday. While this building is on a shared property with a couple other structures, they are set up so each structure has a comfortable area to enjoy on their own. The loft bed is super comfy although I might be a little too old for that ladder now 😅 tons of wildlife and totally serene. Overall extremely happy with our stay!!
