Sunshine Mountain is a shared 7.5 acre property which includes the RV spot, a vacation rental and host’s home. Back portion of the property is a wooded hiking trail for all guests to enjoy. It is located in the historic Ute Pass region. The property was once owned by Ute Indians who later sold it, at which time it became a Hippie camp and later a family home/ranch. We offer a parking spot at night to have a quick safe place to stay. We do not allow the camper to stay multiple continuous days without leaving as you must leave during the day time, but are welcome to return at night.
---We sometimes have Buses leaving or returning to our facility late at night, so just know you might hear a large bus pulling in late at night.
---PLEASE DO NOT block our Iron Gate with the H on it, or stick out into the entrance of the facility. If you stick out too far, you need to park North to South , which is parallel to the wood fence with the customer parking signs on it. You can block the handicap signs also if needed. You are also welcome to park in between the building and the front garden bed area as well if you prefer. The ground is not too level there, so you will need to level your rv.

Camp anywhere on 60 acres. In one direction there are rolling meadow. Another rocky outcropping. Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line. If you want access to town you’re there. You choose how you want to feel. In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc. It is first come first serve with the sites. Two that are near trees for large RVs. One up higher works for pull thru trailers. Plenty of room in the pasture. I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land. Some pictures are from late last summer.. We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up. Also it can be windy.

We are campers ourselves so, we get it! If you're someone who loves camping, glamping or pitching a tent and need a place, we are here for you! We are just 5.4 miles from the NEW Ford Amphitheatre venue. 3 miles from our NEW grocery store. We are on the property ourselves. We are right off a main road with easy access to town, yet you will feel you are in the woods surrounded by nature. We don't have hookups but we do have a water pump and a basic electrical outlet if you need. There's a large firepit that you're welcome to use if there isn't a fire ban in place. The property is fenced and the spot is level. If you need a bit more privacy or a place for additional guests, we have a small cabin that is also for rent on the property! Wonderful place to stay! The staff and amenities were excellent even though I didn’t enjoy it all- they offer so much! I liked the kitchen and ability to cook. I was confused about my booking through Hipcamp, but that might have been my bad cause I thought there was a place to pitch a tent with the RV space rental however, Talia was very kind and helpful with accommodations and I was happy to pay extra for a private room and added an extra night because we really liked Colorado Springs - so we skipped our future plans for Great Sand Dunes. RAD was rad! Thank you!

Dan is the kindest person and the spot is lovely. It's in the middle of a rural neighborhood, I know weird concept. He has a couple acres with some cabin and outbuilding like structures but all under Aspen and Evergreens. You get shade and tons of wildlife at all time of day. You are not in the middle of nowhere but the experience is still nice. Having power and a functioning bathroom is a huge plus for a Hipcamp. Highly recommend!
Also the address is confusing. You need to turn in to park (or back in) before you get to the actual address number.

Had a really nice time here with the family this weekend. There's a small park with a playground just a few minutes' drive from the campsite, which was great for the kids. We also enjoyed a short outing to Divide to try Paradox Brewing for a nice afternoon outing.
One thing to flag: privacy is limited. The site is visible from town, and even though we followed the local burn ban and used a small propane setup instead of an open fire, someone in town called it in and we had a visit from the sheriff to confirm we were compliant (we were). Worth knowing going in that you're not tucked away, it's pretty exposed to view from town.

The mercantile in Florissant is super convenient and the location is a great jumping off point for lots of nice hikes and visits to different towns. Don’t skip a visit to the national monument to see the redwood fossils!
