Spring hosts an abundance of green hills, wild flowers and cooler weather. The river is higher, faster and colder. New life pops up everywhere. Baby ducks, geese, quail and beaver frequent the river. Glitter Cove waterfall is in its full glory. The nights can be cool, so come prepared.
Summer is the perfect time to swim and lounge in the river. As the days heat up, the river begins to slow and warms up to a comfortable yet refreshing temperature. New beaches emerge, just waiting to be explored.
In late summer, early fall, there is a feeling of calm. The river slows significantly but still feels amazing to sit in. You can hear its gentle flow and soothing sound as it trickles over the rocks. This is a great time time to explore the river as it is mostly shallow with some swim holes.
Most of the time it is very quiet. There is another camp down stream owned by a wonderful family. They are here a couple times per week, and also rent their camp. You may hear them having fun and engaging in target practice. The river is a shared space but it is rare to see anyone else. Noise travels in the canyon so you may hear occasional barking or other vehicles. Hearing coyotes sing at night is very common. The rarely seen wildlife includes rattle snakes, bob cats, coyotes, fox, mountain lions and bears. Don't worry, our animal friends like to keep their distance. Hope to see you soon!

Your campsite will be nestled among animal enclosures, listen to the munching of hay or the snorting of the horse. Your stay will include a modified animal tour and you can engage with horse, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks and more... dogs and cats of course ;). I have a couple of spots but I would be flexible regarding campsite. My toilet is a compost toilet. The outside shower has been upgraded with privacy curtains etc following suggetions from previous campers ;)
I have a million $$ view and a modest house. My house is about 45 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance and it's an easy commute back/forth. Flowering vines cover my outdoor porches where we have big dinners when Wwoofers or Couchsurfers are in residence. The property is home to many animals, horse, goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs - dogs & cats - of course! :-) . The roosters wake us up pretty early so fair warning about that - but I love living with them and it makes the property so much more friendly with all the critters. My house is pet friendly and yours are welcome if they are 1. Fixed, 2. Are social and friendly with my pets, 3. Will not chase the cats and chickens. I can babysit your pups if you go to the park - provided they are compliant with rules above. I work from home. There are loads of trails nearby and 2 pretty ponds and plenty of wildlife, deer, turkeys and more. The property is rolling hills however there are plenty of flat areas for tents. NO FIRES PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON MY PROPERTY APRIL-OCTOBER - non negotiable.

Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals.

Wondernut Farm is an upstart, entirely off grid, working farm-stead being built from the ground up. We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away.
Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets.
Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks.
Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

Weekend Trip to Camp with Critters
Had a wonderful time with Ruth and her many animals. She was very friendly and gave us a tour of her different animals and even taught us some new facts about bunnies. She shared her land and space with us on a peaceful and wonderful 2 nights in the amazing Yosemite valley. Her home is about 45 min from the gate and very convenient to get to.

Weekend Trip to Nolla A-Frames Near Yosemite
Amazing and secluded spot with a super comfortable bed! We used this as our landing zone for our Yosemite trip and it did not disappoint. The cabin and pit toilet were clean and the layout was perfect for our little getaway weekend for my birthday. Instructions were clear and hosts were very responsive.
I do highly recommend a high clearance vehicle if you are staying in Cabin 2 and 3. I never had to use my 4WD but sure glad we took our crossover, probably would use 4WD for a rainy weekend.

The cabin is really quiet and peaceful, the view is excellent and the beddings are comfy. Liz and Tom provided us very clear instructions before our trip and checked in with us during our stay. We had a great time!

Willow Belle Ranch is a dream spot. My friends and I were the largest group they’d hosted and Britany & Peter were so accommodating. They set up an extra restroom and shower tent for us to use during our stay, provided us with enough chairs and firewood along with an extra fridge to store our food. Their space is beautiful, with horses, dogs and cats roaming around. We were even able to go horseback riding one morning! Not a bad drive to Yosemite through the south entrance, beautiful road the entire time. Can’t recommend this spot enough, got so lucky on my first Hipcamp booking!

They are such sweet people. It's fun to see a working farm and the sheep. The facilities, while modest, are pleasing in their design, clean and look new. Be prepared for a long hike if you get the Bridge. It's worth it for a true nature experience.

Quiet and peaceful location with amazing views. Thoughtful touches including chargers, warm blankets, a picnic table and drinking water. Have access to showers on the sister property was a huge bonus! Nothing like a hot shower after a long day of hiking. I would highly recommend this glamp site.

We LOVED the Kazakh yurt! This exceeded all expectations. The yurt was beautiful, and is on a beautiful ranch full of alpacas and sheep. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Falls Yosemite Camp
We loved our stay! This spot was nicely private, had AC/heating, plenty of outlets, well furnished, the view of the falls was better than we expected, and the hosts were very helpful and kind! Although access to a shower/toilet was a HUGE plus, it was not the easiest to access from this cabin spot. It required walking either a steep trail or down the long winding driveway. We ended up driving the car to it most times. Only thing that could have made it better was dedicated drinking water access! We weren’t sure if the hose or bathroom sink were good for drinking, and ran out quickly so bring extra if you don’t have a filter or don’t want to go back into town. We also could not get the door to properly lock shut heads up. Overall, such a cool spot!

Weekend Trip to Dunlap Canyon Retreat
Dunlap Canyon is an incredibly scenic, peaceful place! The yurt is cozy and comfortable, and the surrounding mountains are just beautiful, especially at sunset. There are some trails to walk on the property, and plenty to do! The hosts were super sweet and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Weekend Trip to Dunlap Canyon Retreat
The camp was great. My yurk was clean with a bed that was more comfortable than most hotels I stay at. Plenty of room to park and hang out in my camp site. Fun watching the hang gliders and paragliders do their thing with a great view of the mountains right from my camp site. Bathrooms and showers. I’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I loved this place. We had the whole site to ourselves, but kept thinking how fun it would be to come back with friends and rent cabin number two since they’re right next to each other. The cabin was clean, and so was the restroom. We brought our pup, and she had the best time.
10 out of 10 would recommend. It’s private, beautiful, and close to great hikes and Yosemite.
