This cabin really is straight out of a fairy tale! So many thoughtful touches made this cozy little cabin the perfect spot to bring my 9 year old on a short adventure to the mountains. The holiday decor added just the right whimsical touches to keep the magic of the season going while away from home. We will be back!

Christine's HipCamp was an excellent setting for a quick weekend camp for our family. Nestled in the middle of several apple orchards along Oak Glen Road, the location was perfect for enjoying the local activities and atmosphere. Christine proved to be a gracious and helpful hostess, and her cats served as campsite companions that were greatly enjoyed by the family.

My sister and I enjoyed camping here! It was equipped with a fire place, compost toilet and beautiful views. The host was very attentive and sweet. Totally would recommend for beginnings who are getting into the car camping scene. We will definitely be back!

We stayed one night at Kings Hollow Hipcamp. Christine personally met us and showed the charming site where we parked our car. The whole environment felt very warm, friendly and exactly what we were looking for. Christine explained us how to get to her campsite , and was always quick responsive to our messages. Our campsite had a set of chair and table , and water in the hose which was so convenient because we were with a dog. We will definitely come back to Kings Hollow again. Great place ! Highly recommended for any level of camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Storybook Nook- secluded cabin!
Lydia's little cabin really does feel like escaping into a cute, cozy fairytale in the woods. I loved all the little details in the furnishings and the natural wood everywhere inside was gorgeous. Perfect for a little retreat away.
The room upstairs is a little cramped for taller individuals, but we managed just fine! Also, the upstairs can get a little toasty in the afternoons, but even during a heat advisory we did ok - the downstairs space stayed plenty comfortable with the small AC unit - and the upstairs cooled down very pleasantly in the evening with the windows open.
Lots of birds (Seller's Jays, nuthatches, brown creepers, juncos and chickadees), squirrels and chipmunks to watch comfortably from the shaded bench outside. While there are a couple neighbors somewhat close by, it feels very private and quiet with how wooded the area is and being located off a private road. We had an exceptional time just lounging. I highly recommend Lydia's Storybook Nook if you're looking for a little magic and whimsy in your getaway. ;)

Lovely, quiet spot up in a canyon. Christine was very accommodating and directions to the site were clear. Wifi was strong, and bonus points for the 2 sweet, friendly kitties that frequented the site! They plan to separate the composting toilets, which I think will improve privacy. Site 1 is a little flatter and prettier, Site 2 is bigger with more morning shade. Both offer enough room to spread out, but not a lot of privacy between. A lot of animals frequent the wash behind the site, particularly at night. Saw coyotes and deer, the coyotes kept their distance. Sprinkler noise at night and nearby roosters at dawn took some getting used to, but were fine after the first night. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive.

Beautiful house and property surrounded by trees and greenery located at the base of a huge mountain. My 7yr old was absolutely stoked hanging out with their two super friendly kitty cats. There’s all kinds of cute little apple/berry picking places/pie shops etc just down the street. Going to big bear Coming from SD, this is a good resting spot if you want to break up the drive and check out something different, 1hr to big bear.

I absolutely loved this place. There are so many thoughtful details that make it so lovely and cozy. It's a great place if you are looking to escape for a while and feel like you are in your own little world.

I can't recommend this place enough! I wish I could have stayed longer. You feel like you're tucked away in a magical forest. There is so much to do around Lake Arrowhead, but Lydia and David have thought of truly everything to make you feel right at home in this cabin! There is so much intentionality in every spec of detail. Will definitely be back!

Love this place. Will be my new “go to” campground. Serene and beautiful and everything an outdoor enthusiast could need… including a fire pit! Pippen and Merry the two cats that patrol the property made the trip. Spent lots of time at my camp. Christine was a great host and made sure I had everything I needed. So relaxing and enjoyable.

Excellent location. Near city. Lots of wildlife. Quiet and relaxing. Great WiFi and cellular connectivity. Parking can be challenging. Prepare for an uphill walk to get there.
