We recently spent a relaxing weekend camping at Ed’s property in Lake Elsinore, and it was exactly what we were hoping for! Booked through Hipcamp, the process was smooth and Ed was a responsive and welcoming host. The campsite itself was clean, spacious, and had stunning views of the lake and surrounding hills. We loved how peaceful and quiet the area was—perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. Whether you’re into hiking, birdwatching, or just looking to unwind under the stars, this spot is a hidden gem. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience not too far from the city!

The location is perfect, nice mountains, beautifull road leading the the property. Last 5 minutes gravel road and parking at the camping spot was doable also with a 20 ft Van. Loved the remote feeling of the place, the views, the night stars ... definitely the real camping feeling, which you would not get out of a bigger camps.

2 nights at Rosemead 12 miles to DT Los Angeles

Its al small RV camp and not easy to find. To enter the place you have to enter a narrow road which is very steep. But there is water and electricity and the price is nice. Going to LA with a Uber is not to expensive. But if you want a easy campsite with a full hookup then you have to look elsewhere and pay a lot more.

11 nights at New Yurt City

Land access simple; even though I got stuck, management kindly change that by getting me unstuck. Much appreciated! After getting unstuck I was able to settle in for an enjoyable kickback with a night of stargazing. Definitely a place to check out so you can check back in..., and; as a bonus, they have ATV & dirt bike rental. The trails, stargazing, people and visiting dogs are a welcomed experience.

6 nights at Wandering Caboose Ranch

Great view of the pass, loved it. The caboose is awesome BTW. A storm hit right when I arrived and had to pack up my camping gear, but inspite of that I thought it was amazing and I'd love to stay again maybe in the summer when the weather is better. Great hosts, great campsite.

Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

We loved camping at Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove. Instructions to the property were easy to follow and Shane lead us up to exact location once on site. The site was great and felt secluded. We really appreciated having a clean site, bathroom/outhouse, and little hand washing station. Walking the property with our dog was a great way to see some of the area and got to see the chickens and pigs. We would definitely recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a quick getaway or a longer stay!

2 nights at Rosemead 12 miles to DT Los Angeles

This is a different type of site than we are used it. It's basically a VERY steep driveway down behind a bunch of houses and into a gravel lot with trailers and vehicles parked throughout. Can fit multiple rigs, but it's tight, especially getting in and out. We were able to drive both up and down the driveway with our 25' Sprinter-based RV and towing a Jeep Wrangler 2 door. Easier to unhook/hook up on the street, but doable at the bottom if not fully booked. Security cameras are located throughout. Neighborhood seems good. There's a walking trail just on the other side of the fence (not sure how to access it, though). This location was a last-minute choice as we decided while driving past LA to camp and explore. Our host, Richard, got back to our booking request quickly, which allowed us to start heading over right away. We explored most of Central LA and east while there. We then booked Dockweiler's RV Park on the other side of LA so we could explore that side of the city. I think splitting it up like that, if you have the time, is the best way to explore all of LA. We would stay again if we need a spot on the east side of LA.

Had an amazing stay at Ed’s sight at Lake Elsinore! Beautiful views accompanied by the nice campsite and clean upgraded porta potty made for a perfect stay. Will definitely book again, already looking forward to it!

Weekend Trip to Rosemead 12 miles to DT Los Angeles

Richard is an excellent host. The directions he provided were very clear and led us to our spot. There is a hill to go down as others described but wasn’t an issue for us. Richard supplied us with electric and water- which was much appreciated. There is laundry available (at no additional cost) and access to the CLEAN porta potty. The neighborhood is very nice and we felt secure with the additional security cameras in the property. Richard communicated with us throughout or stay and made us feel welcomed and well cared for ! Thank you Richard- would recommend to others planning to visit the area.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Falls Preserve

I really enjoyed the rolling hills and eucalyptus trees. We stayed in valley view 1 and the sight was very large with great view into the valley below and lovely breezes. The whole campground was super nice to hike around in to get up to some even better views that are still accessible for younger kids. We saw a family of owls in the trees of our campsite each night and early morning and got to hear a lively pack of coyotes each night. Even got to see a big toad down near the playground area. We definitely had a great time and would come here again :)

4 nights at AntFarm LA

Robin is a great host, passionate about helping people connect to the land and each other. The land is beautiful, great views, wide variety of vegetation and steep rewarding trails. And the smell of the sage brush and other native plants is amazing. The tent sites are very rustic. There is one small shower (nice hot water!) and a small kitchen equipped with a mini camp stove to be shared by all. These are also rustic, with sand on the floor etc. I stayed at the "Patch of Forest" site and recommend it for quiet if your tent is nice and small.

We had a wonderful stay! The host was very responsive and easy to get in touch with, which made the experience smooth and stress-free. He even came by to personally greet us on our first night, which was a thoughtful touch. The location was not too far from downtown LA and was perfect for our RV stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

This land is perfect for camping tents, Glamping tents, 4x4 Car Campers, and even small RVs(There is a small slope to get up into the property so make sure your RV is capable). The Property is just 3 minutes away from Lake Elsinore, here you can fish, swim, BBq, and many more activity that the lake offers. Being so close to it makes you want to be out there all day and come back at night to enjoy your night shows on the property with the stars. The property seize is 0.11 acres which is 4,791sq Feet. Only about 800sq Feet has a slope the rest is just flat land ontop. That gives you 3,800+ sq feet of land to just enjoy and have fun on!

From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. Please do not approach, interact, feed or touch the horses. This is for your safety and the safety of the horses. Do, however, take lots of photos! They make a perfect backdrop:)

You can get fresh food and everything else you might need at reasonable prices. * Wheelchair access to the home is fairly easy. The showers are very large, but otherwise of standard design. * There can be dogs roaming free, but we've never seen an aggressive one. Skoolie in a secluded meadow

This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The neighbor camp bought the lease but haven’t had the funds to revive it yet. DIRECTIONS: Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210 Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side. There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it. Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork. Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left. Learn more about this land: The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else. No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.
