You won’t be disappointed
Me and my children had a great time! Finding the place was a breeze. The host greeted us warmly and even had two little boys who played so well with my youngest. It felt like being at a family members land.
There are four camp sites in total. We paid for one that was on top of the mountain but unfortunately it was a bit late when we arrived and my children and I were just too tired to carry all of our things up to the location.
The host was so sweet and offered a spot in the lower area as well as a closer parking spot to make things easier to unload/load my car.
The campsight had all the essentials including a picnic table, access to fresh water and a propane fire pit. You just need to be mindful not to use the pit too long as propane is costly. (Being considerate).
There are tons sage bushes, elderberry trees, cherry type bushes and more for those who enjoy wild herbs and food. We picked a healthy amount of elderberries before we left.
There is also an outlet to charge things near the bathroom which by the way comes equipped with sink, toilet and shower!
The stay all together was very pleasant, I seriously enjoyed conversing with the host about his upbringing, business ventures and plans for his amazing land.
I would love to camp here again, especially once I’m in better physical shape to handle all the amazing hiking experiences available there. My favorite is the bathtub on the mountain! So many good things to mention.

Convenient, private spot to camp
Depending on what you're looking for, this might either be the perfect spot or one to skip. These were my pros and cons, but you may feel differently!
Pros:
- I was surprised by how far from the city it felt once I arrived. Only a half hour from Van Nuys but very quiet and woodsy!
- Robin is super friendly and helpful. If you like to meet new people and chat, you'll appreciate his presence! His vibe is open, excited, and full of optimism and ideas.
- On weeknights, this place is less busy, so I had my pick of spots to set up camp.
- There is actually a fully plumbed outdoor bathroom available a short walk down the hill from the campsites, with a flush toilet and a sink!
- The water spout right at my campsite was also nice. There was even a place to make a fire, which I didn't use.
Cons:
- Not many places to hang my hammock, since the trees were inconveniently located. The only spot was a ways away and surrounded by nettles and brush.
- Compared with other places I've camped, it's not the most attractive. Pretty dirty (as in, literal dirt) and not much grass.
- It definitely feels like a work in progress, full of Robin's passion projects. I'd like that as a workplace, but as a place to sleep, it's not the most comfortable.
Overall, this was a convenient spot to crash for a night and a nice social experience. It was perfectly fine, but didn't quite feel worth the pricetag in its current condition (I'm cheap). I think Robin's other listing is nicer, so check that out too!

Privacy and convenience.
I loved this little patch of forest. Very private, yet only 100 feet from civilization. It felt very secluded and a short hike up the hill revealed a fantastic view in both the morning and night. The campground is a little tight for 7 people. The site is located in a valley between 2 steep hills and any water courses through there. Theres a ditch right through the middle of the campsite and there's clearly been some erosion, and theres about 12x12 ft of flat area in which to pitch a tent. This is in addition to the space where theres a picnic table and a propane firepit. Had my budget permitted, we would've rented the adjacent grounds.
I definitely recommend.

I Loved camping here! The place is very idyllic, you can see the city lights at night from the campside on top of the hill, you can soak in the outdoor bathtub to relax or you could ask robin what there is to do outside of hos property! He was very friendly and gave the best advice for places!
Would totally camp here again next time I'm in the area!

We had such a great experience, robin was such a great host ! Honestly we can’t wait to book again ☺️ , the trailer was up a short steep hill and was clean and comfortable for me and my small family ! Really felt connected with nature yet so close to home . My mom also booked a tent site on his property so it was nice to hang in her area and at night sleep in our trailer . Definitely recommend booking ❤️

Loved the privacy and solitude. Really beautiful sunset and sunrise. Robin was an excellent host. Pretty hot this time of year so bring lots of water. And the hill is treacherous.

Secluded, beautiful, and convenient
I loved tent camping at Robin's place! There are 20 acres of beautiful rolling hills with amazing views to explore, but it's also a short drive into the city. The tent sites are a short walk from the parking area and feel private and secluded. Robin was very easy to communicate with and I felt safe and well taken care of here. I'd definitely return.

Refreshing
A beautiful space to pop up your tent and go for a morning hike before heading into the city for the day. I stayed here while working in Eagle Rock and only had a 15-20 minute commute! It’s a perfect place to retreat into nature but still have easy accent to the city.

Truly a get-away, birds and views!
Totally fantastic! Short but steep hike to the upper campsites, WORTH IT! Great views of nature and the city, surprisingly quiet at night, surrounded by birds in the morning. Trails are right there to hike around, easy to get there, easy parking, you can drive into town in a minute to get anything you want but why would you! Hoping to come back sometime with my kids.

Loved it!
This place was great! We had a very large tent, so Robin was really helpful and gave us suggestions of moving the picnic table and things so we could make better room for our tent (10x17). The location was great & we were close enough, yet far enough, from the city to really feel like we were camping. Thank you Robin!

It really is a patch on forest in the city! I stayed here while in the city for work so I could be close by but still feel like I was on vacation; it was perfect. Hosts were friendly and I got to have a morning hike before heading off to work again. I would go back for sure!

My partner and I stayed here two nights during our SoCal road-trip. The property and hillside is very beautiful. Robin is doing a nice job of developing the property to accommodate campers and hikers. We stayed on site #1 which is the closest, but keep in mind, the hike up the hill is very steep and not for the faint of heart. I put on my hiking boots to make the trek up and down the mountain as one section in the middle is particularly steep and slippery. We weren't interested in hauling our cooler and cooking gear up the hill, and Robin offered several picnic table areas near the car to use, which worked out fine for us. The camping spots are probably best for backpackers if you want to cook at your spot and just hang out on the mountain all day. There's a lot of wildlife in the area. We heard so many signing birds and saw lot of bunnies. In the morning we saw a beautiful coyote on the street by our car. Thanks, Robin for sharing your land!

Beautiful camping experience
Stayed two nights here, wish it was longer. We enjoyed gorgeous views both day and night of the bustling valley from this scenic hillside site. Robin was a great host and met us on arrival. This was a great alternative way to experience the LA area for those who enjoy camping.

Slip away, slow down, and snuggle
It was a last minute decision to go camping and as usual all the campgrounds around were already booked. Then I came across this little gem. Convenience to get there was just the first perk. Robin and his wife being incredible hosts brought the second star to this rating. The ability to get away from the city as well as the internet, to slow it all down, roam free with our dog off leash, and snuggle up underneath the cool night sky, made this last minute adventure unforgettable.

Great Getaway close to the Westside
Only 35 minutes from the Westside of LA. This beautiful flower covered hillside campground was great fun for the whole family. Campsite 2 where we stayed has room for 2 tents, a picnic table and viewing area for the fold out chairs with amazing views of the Sundland valley and the National forest beyond.
The host Robin was so welcoming setting up a pop up tent over our picnic table, bringing our heavy cooler up the hill to our campsite, even getting out a craft for my kids to enjoy
For people who like sipping wine with million dollar views of the city lights on a budget, this is the place for you

Hammock hideaway
A perfect break from LA life
I've been looking for a hammock camping getaway from Los Angeles for a while now, and so far everything has been either too far away or just not enough places to hang.
Robin's place was both super convenient and had plenty of options. He was very respectful of distance, but also gave me a quick tour and suggested a few places to hang (as well as showing me a few amazing ideas he has for his property).
Once I found the perfect spot, and set up, I had one of the quietest night sleep I've had in LA county.
The location is great, and Robin is just a truly generous and kind person.
Will definitely be coming back!

Amazing getaway!!
Staying here was absolutely amazing! I messaged the host, Robin, to ask some questions before I made a reservation. I was their first ever hipcamper; Robin made my camping site ready even before I booked the stay. He answered all my silly questions with patience and in detail.
I arrived at Robin's in the evening and stayed until the next day's evening. Upon arrival, he took me on a tour of their property and showed me how to get around and where everything is (this is a HUGE property). He even made it possible for me to be on an online meeting in a quite spot, on a bench across his house and gave me the wifi password! So, so accommodating.
The hill itself is... absolutely STUNNING!! You won't know until you hike up the hill and look back. You can see the city and enormous mountains in the background. Some even had snow on it, it was beautiful! I stayed on "site 1" which had the perfect panoramic view. It was everything I could ask for. The morning was just breathtaking: I woke up to the sound of hundreds of birds chirping and singing; that and the fog made it oh so magical...
It's a short but steep hike up to site 1 which I didn't mind, but next time I'll definitely bring less stuff to carry. Robin mentioned he's working on a less steep hike to the site. There was a [brilliant] composting toilet inside a little wooden hut that is private and out of anyone's sight. To get to the water you need to hike down the hill a bit. I had plenty of water though so I never actually used it.
There are plenty of trails on and off the property for hiking and exploring. I stayed inside the property and just relaxed, read, and enjoyed the views and the quiet+privacy. I was the only camper this weekend and so I had the whole mountain to myself! Pretty crazy!
Robin was so considerate of my needs. I visited alone (along with my dog) and he did everything possible to make sure I feel safe. He even brought up an old-fashioned gas stove and lantern for me to use for no extra cost! He taught me how to use both and they came in handy when I wanted to boil water for some tea. I felt so safe even though I was alone in the "wild"!
This was the perfect place for me and my dog- who really enjoyed running around the property and exploring things. I love that he could be off-leash. I still kept him close to me though, since there are coyotes around.
I also love how close this place is to my home; it's just a 30-50m drive based on traffic, making it the perfect weekend getaway to be away from the city and all its craziness.
Robin is the best host I've had; he's just so sweet and welcoming.
I highly recommend staying here and I will be coming back, probably many more times and with friends!
