Even though Deep Creek has never had any known cases of amoeba outbreaks, be advised that the warm waters around hot springs can carry a sometimes fatal amoeba. *Although children are permitted at most sites on the property (children are not permitted at the cabin or spring pool sites), we do not recommend bringing them due to occasional nudity that may be seen in the area and the degree of difficulty for the hike. In order to be prepared with the correct gear to make the hike to the hot springs and know the USFS rules that apply to the area, please educate yourself before coming by visiting the USFS website page for the Deep Creek area. The Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground is part of the historic Bowen Ranch property that was homesteaded in 1924 and has been the camping and parking area for the Deep Creek Hot Springs for nearly a century. Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on.  Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. Please do not approach, interact, feed or touch the horses. This is for your safety and the safety of the horses. Do, however, take lots of photos! They make a perfect backdrop:)

Such a beautiful and remote spot for car camping! We loved our location - A2. The huge pine trees were stunning and we appreciated having an acre of land just to ourselves. Seeing horses in the meadow was magical! My kids didn’t want to leave! We also enjoyed fully disconnecting from technology since we had no cell reception. Def recommend bringing all the water you need for drinking, cooking and putting out the fire pit. Their manual warns that sometimes the water doesn’t work and it wasn’t working while we were there: Thankfully we followed their directions and brought enough for our stay!

This was our 2nd trip to Holcomb Valley Ranch and it did it disappoint. The campsite is spacious, quiet and well kept. Keep in mind the drive to the campsite is on a gravel and rocks so 4 wheel drive is suggested. It was a short walk to the water source and port-a-potties. Will be back again! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Harmony Heaven Campyard

Tam was a wonderful host. The experience could not have been better. We brought our 6 year old and there was a gorgeous pool, a firepit for smores, even farm animals in a little secluded area ( no smell either!) Did I mention the koi pond? Or the hot shower and flushing toilet? This is definately glamping! We stayed in the safari tent which was super comfortable bedding and stayed warm. It is a small area inside tent with a support pole in the middle (for us, as a family of 3) We were there alone but there are 2 other cute little campers surrounding the firepit so you may have a group camp experience but each area has its own picnic set up. We hiked Etiwanda Falls at daylight and overall the whole experience was truly magical. We will book again!

Camp Durrwood was such a great find. What really set it apart was how secluded and immersed in nature the site was, it felt nothing like a standard campsite where you're parked next to a dozen other groups. We had space, quiet, and the feeling of actually being out there. Walid was a great host, and the site was exactly as described. Everything we needed was there and well kept. Easy check-in, easy check-out, no surprises. If you're looking for somewhere that feels genuinely removed from everything rather than just a numbered spot in a campground, this is it. We'd absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem. Everybody had a blast. We stayed at E1 and had plenty of space for 8 people. We could’ve fit more. Close to bathrooms with hot showers and running well water. We brought a battery for electrical use with string lights, coffee machines, etc and it was some fine glamping. The horses and meadows were beautiful. The manager of the ranch (Ed) came down to personally greet us and toured us around the rest of the ranch. It was a personal touch that made the experience second to none. We will be staying here again for years to come, I just hope it’s availability stays the way it is!
