3 nights at Vineyard Camping at Bad Rat Ranch

Beautiful vineyard setting in the rolling CA hills. Marek is a wonderful host, took us to a couple amazing wineries nearby, one of which 6 Sigma has a nice set of fast mountain bike trails on the property! The campsite includes a fun outdoor shower, portable toilet, power hook-up and the company of his very friendly dog Ceviche. Quiet all day long, full sun or shade under the trampoline “awning.” We loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer.

Great place for a few days of relaxation get away. The house was clean and nice. The neighbors were friendly and the local shop 3 min walk away was a good place to get snacks and drinks.

Layna is an absolute wonder! Her land is truly beautiful and a little treasure up in the mountains. What a beautiful experience it was to camp where art meets nature. She has created a unique space and I am so grateful we got to share in it for a little moment. My favorite part is the outdoor dining hall that overlooked everything. It really is something you need to experience. Thank you Layna for your hospitality, for sharing your puppies with us, and for allowing us into your beautiful home. You made our first annual sister camping trip a treasured core memory!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Zen Writer's Cabin

Great stay, good communication. Creek, backyard, and cedar tub were beautiful and so is the indoor space. Kitchen includes a fridge and microwave as well as countertop stove. Was perfect for my solo retreat 🙏

Great little spot. Right next to a tiny home & a cabin. Very quiet when no one else was there. RV was a great size & was stocked with all the comforts of home. Loved being able to have my furballs join me!!! They were very comfy. Would stay again.

Marek was incredibly generous and kind during our stay! He offered us the guest house because there was so much rain. The land is beautiful and quiet, and still close enough to everything you need.

Layna has managed to maximize all the magic of her property that she shares with us, and improve upon it. Her artful and thoughtful design of the space, whether the tent pad or shared communal space made me feel giddy with delight. No joke. And I'm pretty sure my urban dog thought she was the heavens. Originally thinking this was a conveniently located spot to break my road trip, I left realizing this would be a destination on future trips.

Weekend Trip to The Mesa has views for miles

Serenity on the Mesa is so aptly named! The quiet serenity and picturesque views made it the perfect escape from the city grind. My group especially loved the cabin with views of the valley during the day and an endless blanket of stars at night. The host Uriah is very welcoming and a really cool dude- I can’t wait to come back!

We actually stayed in the tiny house because it was not reserved, and we loved it! It's definitely a true tiny house but we found it very comfortable. The loft is just a little bit bigger than the bed that's up there (queen sized) and it was so cozy and quiet. Loved waking up to beautiful sunrises. I saw one review mention the tiny house is too close to the host's house, and while they do share a driveway, we did not hear one sound from the main house and none of the windows face the main house directly. Yes, there are spiders in the house. It's sitting in a meadow area with grasses and plants and other bug-friendly things. I took three spiders outside and thought nothing of it. I'm picky about sheets and towels so I brought my own. The heater was nice and toasty but I appreciated that it was so quiet. I appreciated that Marek let us charge our Chevy Volt :) I would definitely stay here again! It definitely feels like camping, but with some comforts like the hot shower and cozy loft.

3 nights at Ravens Landing

Loved it! Layne was great/very helpful, and the cabin was very cozy (I ended up staying in the cabin not the inverted treehouse). Beautiful and very peaceful spot of land - saw the Milky Way and a shooting star too. The road up is a bit rough but I did it without 4WD and Layna offered to help if needed. Town and everything is 10 min drive away and lots of wineries in the area. One of my fav places I’ve stayed on HipCamp, Would def recommend and looking to go again!

Marek was incredibly kind and welcoming. I enjoyed getting to know him and spending time among the vineyards. The land is such a peaceful place to unwind and get refreshed. The road getting there and out again can be a little bit rough. I have a 20 ft travel trailer that I pull with a 2WD pickup. If you have something longer, I would be weary. Camper vans seem to be best for this location, but if you have a powerful truck, you’ll be fine.

1 night at Vineyard Camping at Bad Rat Ranch

We stayed at the Tiny House, which was very small and cozy! The land is absolutely stunning and as peaceful as it gets! We got a bit of rain in the morning which made it extra cozy. Then as the sun peaked out around noon, we got to experience the vastness of the land and a stroll around the vineyard with Cheviche the dog, who made the whole experience even more friendly as we were missing our dog. We grilled our dinner in the evening and Marek was so accommodating and helpful with everything we needed on site. He is a friendly host and offered wine and play with instruments in the evening! This is not a luxury camp!! There might be a little dust in the corners and the bed was not the best on my achy joints, but for an overnight and the price, it’s a little gem!

Saddled in between two big mountains, it sits on top of a valley with breathtaking views. Ravens Landing burnt down in 2015 and since then, I and many friends and artists have been rebuilding using recycled lumber and various objects that survived the fires. Today I am so humbly proud to facilitate a space for artists, musicians, nature lovers, off the grid fanatics and more! We love being inspired and inspiring so please come for a visit and leave some of your own inspiration behind. Come explore the beautiful oak and manzanita forests. Relax and take in the fresh air. Spend quality time with our animals, drive off to the cold running creek, take a workshop or relax in a sound journey. This is our Home, so please visit with an open mind, open heart, and most of all Respect. Everyone is always welcome here. Please remember Kids are considered guests here so please include them when you reserve the number of people in your party. KID POLICY: **Must keep an eye on your children at all times. You are responsible for them! **Children must be comfortable and respectful around animals. We have a lot here, they are amazing and kid friendly. **Kids fill this space with their amazing energy so please make sure you account for them in your reservation. If your kids are walking they are considered little people and are charged at regular price. All campers get all access to our hand built cob kitchen which and access to our epic dining hall deck. It’s a very sunny property so please bring a canopy for shade if you want it over your campsite. But remember to bring stakes, it can be windy here. There is limited water due to the drought. Here we make every drop count so please come with water conservation in mind. Also for big groups, we love celebrating but please please avoid bringing balloons, styrofoam, plastic banners, plastic cups, streamers or anything else that can blow away in the wind. We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it. It’s always a journey finding the magical places so just a sweet heads up our mountain dirt road is a bit bumpy. Cars make it up all the time. Be sure to drive at a steady pace (lowest gear is good) on the way up and don’t stop till you see the Welcome sign! You will be greeted by one of our wonderful residents.... Or myself! ARRIVAL: We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 8pm. If possible a general ETA helps as well. DOGS: We have an amazing dog with a wonderful disposition that roams freely here. You will be most definitely greeted at the entrance by Arco wearing a beautiful tuxedo. Arco will check in with you throughout your stay. *Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Our animals roam freely. * WATER: Please bring your own Drinking Water. We do have potable water here as well. We have a shower for those staying more than one night. *We ask that people take _very_ efficient showers. Water is tremendously valuable here.*
