We ended up being the only campers on an early November day, so Wayne graciously let us choose whichever site we liked. We pitched our tent right by the communal fire pit and picnic tables instead of a designated site. The ground was easy to drive stakes into, and Wayne even offered more substantial stakes in case they were needed.
His sweet dog (Cowboy) and horse (Coco) paid some very welcome visits. They're sneaky for treats, so watch your back! ;)
A hose is nearby that supplies filtered fresh spring water, and the toilet room is very convenient. The hot showers were down due to some construction, but we enjoyed our stay a lot! We would recommend this place as a nice getaway, or as a stop on your way to the redwoods or Eureka (we did both).

this was an incredible spot. it’s tucked into the trees and right by a sweet creek, and very private from the rest of the rv park, which was quiet and peaceful the whole time we were there. it’s about an hour from the best redwood spots and incredibly reasonably priced. we’d recommend it to anyone car or tent camping!

I enjoyed camping at Sylvan Harbor. The bathrooms and showers are super convenient. Affordable and just what I needed. Beautiful area. Hearing the creak from our campsite made this stay very special.

1 night at Sylvan Harbor RV Camp & Cabins
The dreamiest coastal town of Trinidad nearby & such a surprise on our journey around California - we had never even heard of this town before & just happened to stop in for a day on our journey to the Redwoods, before making our way back home North Carolina. With the news being so dark & our husbands flying back home just two days before we made it here, we were a little on edge & just wanted to feel safe. We booked extremely last minute & Sean wasted no time preparing a place for us to stay for the night. Upon arriving at this campground, we were warmly welcomed by the sound of children riding bikes, grills being fired up, & scripture verses around every corner.. It didn’t take long for our nerves to settle & rest to kick in. God has a funny way of reminding us that He’s all around.

This property is beautifully set with views of the mountains and forests all around (we got an amazing sunset!) and a stream / swimming hole with little beach right below. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, meeting us when we arrived to help us get situated, talking with us (also giving plenty of space and alone time, but always available and helpful if we needed anything), even offering fresh fruit and vegetables from their trees and garden. They have a friendly dog and horse which roam the property. Our stay was very enjoyable, peaceful, and relaxing.
The only possible downside is that it's somewhat challenging to get to--it's remote, and the handful of miles toward the end down a narrow, winding, at times unpaved (in one relatively short stretch, and then once on the property itself) road with occasional places to pass were a nail-biter, especially driving an RV--but the drive in and out was incredibly scenic and worth the experience in between.

Friendly hosts and easy check in. Very nice little camper, in a pleasant setting. Tremendous value given how close this is to so many amazing sites along the coast. There are also multiple good local restaurants in Trinidad that we enjoyed.

We loved every second of our stay in Wayne's property! the creek all to ourselves was simply perfect our dog enjoyed the freedom of running around freely and being able to play in the creek. the weather and the views were perfect. we caught some rain which just amazing it was just fresh and i definitely would recommend this to anyone looking to get away. it's about 2 hour off the nearest highway but i didn't mind the scenic drive.

The hosts were so sweet, they offered us firewood, fresh tomatoes, and recommended amazing hiking spots around the area! The site is very open and the creek is an easy walk to get to. I enjoyed every second if my stay here and would recommend anyone to try this place out for themselves!

The camp hosts were incredibly warm, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their kindness touched our hearts and created an unforgettable experience. The campsite itself is utterly breathtaking, nestled in a secluded, mountainous haven that feels like a hidden paradise. The stream flowing through their property is simply awe-inspiring, its soothing sound amplifying the natural beauty surrounding us. We fell in love with their adorable family pets, Cocoa and Cowboy, who greeted us with joyful enthusiasm and genuine affection. Where do I even begin with this amazing place. Wayne, the host is freaking awesome! His property is beautiful. His horse is friendly and loves carrots and nose pets. The best part may be the private creek access with a couple little swimming holes along the creek and little beaches. The clear blue/green water, all the green trees, vines, and moss really makes you think fairies live down there. And the blackberries, sweetest best blackberries I’ve ever had. The sound of the creek made for a great nights sleep. Wayne’s property is a dream. I cannot wait to come back and visit Wayne and play in the creek. ❤️

We had an amazing time camping here, Wayne was very kind and helpful. We had lots of fun chatting with Wayne and other campers. The swimming hole was amazing, lots of different spots if you walk down the creek just a little. The flushable toilet is super nice. We will definitely be coming camping here again.

The sound of the creek will take away all your stress. The swimming hole is beyond epic. They went above and beyond with fresh baked cookies and veggies from their garden! He even brought us extra ice and offered all the firewood we needed. I have a big dog and they even put there dog away so mine could be free! The horse is just walking around the property and is super nice. Thanks again for an amazing stay!🇺🇸

This campsite is in a really remote location with level ground that made setting up easy. The hosts were available, friendly, and helpful without being intrusive. We were honored to be welcomed into their beautiful private paradise.
The swimming hole was magical. Really beautiful and refreshing.
We had a hard time leaving and are already talking about booking another trip back.

We really enjoy our stay in Wayne’s Property, especially the kids and also thank to his wife’s Delicious Chocolate chip cookies, the kids loves it. Wayne and his wife greeted us and give us instructions about our campsite when we arrived, location is very nice, it is surrounded with trees in the middle of the mountain, plus the swimming hole is a bonus. We will recommend the campsite to our friends and we will be back!!
