Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Weekend Trip to The Land: An Off-grid Refuge

My second time here and I booked just one day before, knowing I needed a space I could have to myself, that offered rest and “being.” Rachel and I got to meet this time, and she helped me set up for an outdoor fire, and even helped with the new hot water heater for the shower. Truly so much love is put into the bus and surrounding areas. I plan to share this place with other solo travelers, because as a solo preferred traveler, this spot is safe and the host is incredibly helpful for anything!

I am writing this review to warn everyone that there is no longer a tent/yurt set up at Lovers Creek. When I asked the man about it, he said that a guest had brought the tent it wasn't included in the site, which is a lie if you look at all the reviews and pics there used to be a tent that stayed on the wooden platform. Luckily I brought my tent just in case so we didn't need to leave. The road getting onto his property is very narrow and beautiful and I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my car, I was glad to have a truck. The restroom is down at the "entrance" and a 10 min walk to the Lovers Creek site. We took the truck each time. There were cute animals to see on the property. Roads are very dusty! The best part about this place and the main reason I might come back is for the privacy. After check in, no one bothered us and the nearest campsite maybe 500 feet away across the other side.

Dustin and Om's land, farm, Glampgalore retreat was perfect for our 4 month old's first camping experience. The tent was so cozy, thoughtfully decorated and organized with string lights, a comfortable bed, dresser, side table, and cooking wares. Our dogs had a blast walking the beautiful trails all around and we had the best time feeding acorns to the goats and the cutest pigs you will ever meet. Being followed around by a gaggle of chickens, guinea hens, ducks, and one curious turkey made our trip all the more sweet. Dustin and Om are the best hosts we have ever had on Hipcamp and we will definitely be back in the spring!

2 nights at King Madrone

We overall enjoyed camping at this very private orchard! There was a pond right next to us! We saw lots of wild animals including a flock of quails, deer, ducks, and turkeys! The showers were extra charge but we did enjoy the warm water and nice shower after being out in the wilderness. Only complaint is that the toilet and shower room has two big windows that do not have any privacy covering so we felt exposed. Also the door to the laundry room didn’t close all the way so someone could accidentally walk in on you while you’re doing your business or showering. We just ended up changing in the shower which at least had curtains. Otherwise, nice camping spot!

The hosts were very friendly and bathrooms were very clean! My group did not have any issues with the horses that previous reviews mentioned. The campsite is very remote and the closest town is about a 30 min drive, so I recommend packing all food with you and planning to do activities at the campsite. I would also recommend checking in during the daylight to avoid confusion with the gates and finding your campsite. As a heads up, the lake shore was about a 1 mile walk from the campsite. Happy camping!

This was by far our families most relaxing camping trip! Jim and Kathy were the most wonderful hosts. Every detail for our comfort and relaxation was thought of for this hip camp site. The location is great and we loved relaxing and watching the animals across the pond all day long. Each morning the friendly cows would come to the fence close to the site to say good morning. The setting provided complete privacy, breathtaking natural scenery, and incredible star gazing that made the night feel magical. We also loved the chance to feed the pigs — such a fun and unique feature of the property. The host was exceptionally communicative and responsive, making everything seamless despite our brief stay. We look forward to returning for a longer visit in the future!

Weekend Trip to Pleasant Valley Creekside Ranch LLC

We had an amazing time at this Hipcamp! The place was beautiful and had everything we needed for a perfect weekend getaway. We did BBQ, relaxed in the hot tub, and even went kayaking — it was such a fun and peaceful experience. The host was super friendly and made sure everything was well set up for us. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature with friends!

Weekend Trip to The Land: An Off-grid Refuge

The bus was super cool and beautifully made! We also really enjoyed the bath house. The stars were incredible too! The one thing I was not particularly pleased with was being woken up by the owners free-roaming barking dogs early in the mornings. Also, I would recommend bringing an extra lamp because it does get very dark and the provided lamps might not be enough light for everyone. Otherwise, the place was awesome! I would still recommend this spot for anyone looking to get away from the city.

2 nights at Tambo Ranch Tiny House Village

This was the perfect place to take a day or two and just relax. The tiny house had just enough kitchen that for a short stay you didn’t need to go out unless you wanted to. It was impressively efficient. I did bring a cooler because I like cold beverages, but the small fridge would be enough for the yogurts and cheese I brought with for my 2 night stay. I had a nice time playing with the kittens, Caspian the dog, (who dutifully slept on my porch) and exploring the property. The bed downstairs was very comfortable and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. 10/10 recommend!
