Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. Choose between the campground, the cabin, or both! You can add the cabin to your campground stay under "extras'! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is true wilderness, with some development of trails and amenities, at our Calistoga ranch just 10 minutes outside of town. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers behind the shade screens. The main house is not part of hipcamp; tenants are a nice family but keep to themselves. Our ranch has been newly renamed after my new son Dylan, who will inherit this family land of 100+ years. Our hipcamp is our newest project over the last 3 years, creating the rustic campsites after we created the trails for our wedding in summer 2022. We are currently working on a fourth, pull-through RV site, so stay tuned. This hipcamp is a 'leave no trace, clean up after yourself' campground. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided. There is no host on site, but I am. very available by text, all times, and there is a caretaker on site for emergencies. Our rates are substantially lower to accommodate for this. If that is ok with you, read on! We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the most access and services. If you don't need the cabin (but have an RV or want to pitch your tent), let me know and I will discount your nightly rate by $30/night (and no cleaning fee at all), to enjoy close access to everything and the best views. You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, deer...(some non-edible, but) beautiful wild mushrooms at the right time of year! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fireroads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike! The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Not suitable for RVs It is also, managed and operated by a single mother. Please keep this in mind. Notes about the campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway. *The Friendly Gray Cat's name is Boots!*

Our journey started here with a simple little cute house surrounded by dirt... We have worked non stop to make it our home. We've added a shop, built a master suite and put in trees, gains and pool. We built a poolhouse for guests and have added it to the airbnb community. We later built a pig barn and expanded our chicken coop. We enjoy gardening, growing pumpkins for our grandkids. We have multiple fruit trees in hopes to have lots of fruit to share . We love be outside 99% of the time. BBQ & sports, are always enjoyed, especially if it's football! It has power and water hookups only. The pool and laundry can be used by appointment. Please note, as of now we don't have a bathroom or shower option. Trailers must be self contained.  We have tiny rooster, Little John, 17 hens and a mini schnauzer. Fresh eggs are always available during your stay. We’re 2.5 miles from city limits. Close enough to stores and restaurants but far enough away for a quiet stay. We have lots of local winery’s within 20 minutes, hot air ballooning and an abundance of lakes within a few hours. Come visit us!

Big open space in the Livermore Hills. Great for just hanging out and relaxing. There’s a nice patio area by the tasting room that they offered for us to use with fire pits. Be aware of no fire bans, since the hills can be quite dry. Bathrooms are clean and easy to walk to. Tasting room was closed but Kelly was nice enough to allow us to buy some of her favorite wines. We ended up finishing both bottles! Ground is a bit rocky so be prepared with cots or air mattresses if you are tent camping.

As a first-time camper and a solo one at that, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this experience exceeded every hope I had. Art was incredible from start to finish. He made me feel genuinely welcome and at ease, shared helpful knowledge about the area, and even lent me a walkie-talkie since I didn't have cell service. That small gesture made a huge difference. I felt safe and looked after the entire time. The location itself is beautiful and full of life. Don't be surprised if you get a friendly visit from cows, deer, or turkeys wandering through your campsite, it's part of the charm. I would absolutely camp here again, and I'd recommend it to anyone, first-timer or not.

I loved camping at this ranch! The land was beautiful and peaceful. The bathroom was clean and the shower was open air which was another very nice addition. If you need firewood there is a great place to buy local firewood a few blocks up the road on Cross Road before the turn off to the ranch. They take Zelle. Pet owners beware/everyone in general, there are a lot of ticks hiding in the grass. We found a few on our dog so just make sure to do a thorough check on yourself and your pets.

He made sure we had all the information we needed and set the perfect expectations for our visit. We originally planned to stay just one night since my partner had a business meeting nearby, and I was simply tagging along. But everything changed the moment we woke up the next morning. The views were breathtaking—peaceful, expansive, and truly rejuvenating. We instantly knew one night wasn’t enough and decided to extend our stay. To our delight, the weather added even more magic to the experience. We were able to enjoy both beautiful sunshine and rain, each bringing its own charm to the landscape. It made the entire stay feel even more special and memorable. This campsite offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and thoughtful hosting. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about our next visit. We will absolutely be back!

1 night at Sleep Up High In A Redwood Tree-net

So much fun! We got in right after dark and Louis came down to guide us in. We had our own private driveway that circled around, very easy to get in and out. The treehouse is built very well and the netting felt like we were sleeping on a trampoline. The first ladder has about 14 steps and the second has 7. Make sure if you are carrying a backpack that you keep your body close to the ladder when climbing up and down. Would definitely come back again!

The campsite was quiet and has really good views! The host Adrianus was very nice and accommodating. What a hidden gem in La Honda! Will definitely be back next time!

1 night at The Olive Farm

Took my 7 and 10 year old girls for an overnight camping trip. The place was fantastic, even better than the photographs portrayed. They loved the lake and all the exploring they could do. The location is great as it’s super secluded and yet it’s just a short hop in the car for all the things we forgot (and all the ice cream treats we didn’t, but had to get anyway). Would definitely recommend.

Awesome place, super convenient if you need a place to crash as you make your on your way along I-5. Lots a space between sites, and the area was very quiet aside from a pack of coyotes in the distance. The restroom facility is great, and we loved being able to look up at the stars while we showered.

I have camped with my pop up camper at the Ranch at the Cross Roads a handful of times. It is very convienant and a great place to stay. The bathroom and shower are excellent. Always clean and comfortable I will continue to stay on this property in the future.

Weekend Trip to The Ranch at Cross Road

Great spot! Sunset and sunrise over the hills was stunning. The bathroom felt luxurious for camping and I liked the shower. The communal area could use some work. The cornhole boards were a bit warped and most of the bags were unusable. The sink outside didn't work as well. Overall the location was great and nearby a place to buy wood/get food. Did the job.
