Weekend Trip to EL EL Cool Ranch

We had a great relaxing weekend, it was super hot but that didn't change anything with what this place offers. It was very peaceful, great night sky, loved the dog and the chickens. Nice trail on the property. Host Elias is kind and nice person, we had a great conversation and really appreciated his hospitality. We also took a day trip out to Mendocino. Overall great place to disconnect, and enjoy the peaceful nature.

Great spot! Loved getting into the river and hanging around the property. Some good platforms for sleeping on. One note; the yurt by the river has seen better days and we opted not to sleep in it. Otherwise, a beautiful and tranquil spot in a perfect location.

Weekend Trip to EL EL Cool Ranch

Great stay, well off the beaten path. Eli is a warm and gracious host. We loved the peace and quiet of the dome and still having the creature comforts of home. It was also fun to go forage in the garden, hang out with the chickens, and see the wild ponies on the drive in. A truly dog friendly place- Lulu is a very friendly girl and will love to play with your pup.

Weekend Trip to Creek View Tree House

Sue was a very accommodating host- we booked last minute & she made us feel welcome. The deck was a dream with a gorgeous view of the trees & creek & TWO hammocks! We slept peacefully in the comfy bed to the lull of cute frog sounds. Great proximity to coffee, food, swimming spots & beaches. A nice crash pad when you want to dip in the river & try one of the many good restaurants. We weren’t sure about the outhouse on the listing but it was immaculate. This little cabin might not have all the facilities & appliances, but for a short trip who cares? For a spontaneous overnight we didn’t need to cook or shower- just wanted to get out of the city, take in some nature, read in a hammock- mission accomplished! Only issue was chainsaw noise coming from the next property, which sort of broke the otherwise chill vibe. Sue assured us it was out of the ordinary & did her best to make it up to us by kindly offering a discount on our next stay. Looking forward to a do-over, which I’m sure will result in 100% relaxation. Adding Sue’s spot to our list of Russian River haunts!

Weekend Trip to Shangri-La

I absolutely loved this spot! Me and my four girlfriends had a blast. I couldn’t believe the view just outside the Yurt. Had my morning coffee at that viewpoint each morning during my stay. There is also a short hike to a BEAUTIFUL meadow! The trail to this meadow begins just steps away from the yurt.

Weekend Trip to Serendipity

We had such a wonderful time at Serendipity! The campsite was so peaceful and welcoming that we spent most of the weekend reading there and letting our two pups have the time of their life on the property. The campsite is well appointed with pretty much anything you could need in the camp kitchen, and we found the camp shower and loo to be convenient and very clean. It also was an added bonus that Jennifer and and her pup Pipin were such welcoming hosts! We even were able to give some yummy treats to the goats.

2 nights at Creek View Tree House

The little home was beautiful and perfect for our little getaway. The deck was so lovely - hammocks, fire pit, overlooking a creek. We even had enough room to pitch a tent since we wanted to sleep under the stars for one of the nights.

Weekend Trip to Ariana Acres

This area has so many wineries within 15 minutes, and located between Willits & Ukiah, Redwood Valley offers a peaceful retreat with amenities and adventures nearby! We had the land to ourselves, loved the grill, comfortable bedding, whimsical decor and well stocked kitchen set-up! We’ll definitely 💯 come back!

Weekend Trip to Serendipity

We were having a blast on our adventure roadtrip to the area and decided to soak up sunset on the beach which resulted us in arriving hours later than originally planned. Arriving in the dark is not recommended for a few reasons. :) The camp space had minimal lighting but thankfully I had my headlamp handy. The camp’s sweet watchdog was on duty doing her job barking at our arrival but once we approached to say hi it calmed down learning that we were the guests and then disappeared. Just as we were about to unpack our belongings and pups from the cars, we heard a few noises right across the road from us in the woods and with the headlamp we spotted big eyes watching us ever so stealthily. After a few minutes of not breaking eye contact with my light shining on them, processing what it could be and what we should do, a second pair of eyes joined in and we decided to listen to our gut and get the heck out of there before anything could possibly go wrong. 🤪 My friend got her first true car camping experience as we made do with what we had and boondocked along the coast feeling much safer not being 20+ mins deep into the winding woods with intimidating wildlife. 😆😅 The host answered our questions prior to the trip, but we never heard more from her after day-of arrival directions were sent. Wish we could’ve enjoyed the space but we were naturally too psyched out by then and skeptical that the privacy fence could really keep out the potential bears or mtn lions. 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️

Weekend Trip to Heartwood Mendocino

We loved camping here! All the amenities were so nice (especially the tree shower) . The beds were comfortable and heated ! The whole camp is very peaceful :)

We love this place and come back every year. It's beautiful, peaceful and private, with a creek running behind the cabin and the woods all around. There are lots of water related activities nearby because of the river and Armstrong Park with the redwoods is also quite close. A gem for sure!

Weekend Trip to CAMP CAZ

What a wonderful cabin in a beautiful and peaceful setting! We made use of all the spaces and amenities this cabin had to offer and could not be happier with our weekend away. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare our meals, the fireplace added a beautiful ambiance, and we dined al fresco for every meal with the sounds of birds and the river in the distance. We spent a spectacular afternoon lounging in the sun and swimming in the river which felt very private and secluded. It was our own little slice heaven. We filled the outdoor clawfoot tub with hot water and bubbles and had a very romantic moment looking out onto the forest through the hanging ivy. Our whole stay was fantastic and Carrie's communication was excellent the entire time. We will absolutely be coming back.

I brought my dog for his first camping/glamping adventure and it was a success since the adorable site made him (and me) so comfortable! He got to see deer, lizards, butterflies and other types of wildlife for the first time and we both had a blast. I was shocked by how cozy and comfortable the tent and bed both were and waking up in the morning was an absolute delight. We will definitely be returning!

Weekend Trip to Shangri-La

Great glamping experience. The ride up is a bit rough, but the reward is total seclusion. We were the only guests, and even if there had been others, they would have been out of sight. The yurt was great, and the soaking tub amazing. A very unique experience. I would recommend staying two nights in a row for a full day of calm and disconnect. We stayed one night, and it felt too short.

Our organic vegetables and fruit may be available if you wish to bring some of our farm to your table. We can offer you a quiet and peaceful place without social pressures if you wish to "decompress" from city life, jobs or any stressful times. Or come to the communal fire near the bathhouse for sharing some time with family and the few other campers that may be there. Bringing your own wood is welcome. The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning. Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Camp Noyo

Established in 2012.Camp Noyo was first developed as a logging camp for the Union Lumber Company in 1907. Originally called "Camp Four," it was the fourth camp established by the lumber company as they progressed east from Fort Bragg along the current route of the California Western Railroad. In 1933, the Union Lumber Company donated the property to the Boy Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts began using the site in the summer 1934 and continue to use the property for several weeks every summer.In 2012, Allan Hemphill, his son Brian, and a small group of family friends purchased the property from the Boy Scouts. The Hemphill family has been care taking Camp Noyo for over 60 years. We decieded to open the property to the public in 2015 for camping in the summer.

The first deck is a approx. 11x 9 structure covered with a canvas tent. The second structure is about 12 x 12 enclosed yurt, closer to the creek.
