Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite.
The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center.
PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this.
PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy.
Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in.
Please note that a $25 setup/cleaning fee is charged per reservation, plus a booking fee.

Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is a nature experience, with some development of trails and amenities, at our family land just 10 minutes outside of Calistoga, with wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers; . The main house and deck is not part of the hipcamp; the tenants are a nice family and caretakers of the land, but not the host.
Our sites are no frills, cute and rustic, and “user responsible” meaning the price includes basic “leave no trace”cleaning guidelines. Because of this, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time!
Rules for all sites, read before you book!
1. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox).
2. We have a compost toilet system designed by a graduate of the Occidental Ecology Center permaculture course. It has pros and cons, but when operated correctly, it is a good system: All you gotta do is add mulch (which is any dried leaves or grass), on top of your own biz and it begins to break down waste immediately, including smell. If in doubt, add more mulch; you can find it in a bin by the toilet or gather a handful at time of service. Or: There are also nice coffee shops in town:)
3. The nature of our land being wild, there are no wood fires allowed. We have propane fire pits, and ask guests to use extreme caution with bug candles or smoking anything.
We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the most access, Wi-Fi, cooking appliances, and the best views. Each campsite has a gas camping stove and compost toilet.
You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, a toad here and there! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike!

also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you.

We are conveniently located off of US 101, therefore there may be some freeway noise, during commute hours especially. It has become like white noise to me, but it is only fair to mention it.
We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have one pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer.
Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries.
We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River.
We are close to places like Armstrong Woods, Safari West, Getaway Adventures, The Sonoma County Fairgrounds which hosts the Summer Country Concerts among other events, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa Full Camp; Half Marathons Camp; 5K, Sonoma Zip-line Adventures, and Much More!

The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area.
Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward.
'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here.
This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground.
Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days.
This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers.
Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

The owner, Antler bought the property 20 years ago, and has lived full time here for 12 years.
Antler has a vision for this communal farm to be a place for artists and others to come and create freely. As you explore this property you will see where his vision has come into play with many artists leaving their mark on this beautiful land in many forms.
If you're looking to be inspired and get away from the usual and mundane... then this is the place to come. Many people have said this land holds some kind of special magic and there isn't anything like it.

My partner, pup, and I loved our stay in the Cozy Cabin! Lynda, Rich, and Bogey have put together a beautiful space with a lot of charm and personality, from the common spaces (for lounging by the creek and in a new space under the trees for the warmer midday), to the repurposed door to the cabin. The creature comforts (heated water and heating pads for the bed) were much appreciated and our pup felt right at home and had so much fun exploring the property. The property is very conveniently located, with a local cafe (Lightwave) pretty much in the backyard of the property, and a convenience store and a tasty pizzeria (Wonderland) a short 15 minute walk away in Monte Rio. The Monte Rio Redwoods Trailhead (2.3 mile loop) and beach access to the Russian River were also within a 15 minute walk. We also enjoyed dinner a 15 minute drive away in the very dog-friendly Guerneville, and enjoyed activities on the Russian River half an hour away (and the drives are beautiful, with many wineries on the way!). My one tip for future hip campers is to make sure you download maps for the area beforehand - my service was very spotty, and the wifi connection in the Cabin came and went, though it is stronger in the common spaces!

Snuggle Inn is a hidden gem that completely exceeded my expectations. The waterfront cottage is much better than the pictures show—it's spacious, boasts a great split unit, and has a fully equipped kitchen. I loved grilling on the waterfront fire pit and sleeping in the comfortable queen-sized bed with my two dogs.
Despite it being a busy July 4th weekend with lots of kids and boaters, the cabin remained surprisingly peaceful. The best part was walking my two boys down to the beach to run and swim. My terrier mix was in heaven!
With hot showers and flush toilets available, it’s a perfectly relaxing setup - spacious and comfortable. I’m already planning my next trip back!

Weekend Trip to Point San Pablo Harbor
The Hive is so efficient and cozy. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets and comforter made it so I didn’t want to get up. Waking up with a view of the Bay and the quiet sound of animals was very peaceful. The bathrooms are clean and convenient. I’ll be back!

So. Much. Fun. Apart from everything thing being super clean and incredibly well provisioned, the whole property is ridiculously charming. There are so many cozy places to sit and drink in the beautiful surroundings, the decor is so fun, wood work around the property is beautifully done and maintained, fresh flowers, fun knick-knacks, lighting, every tool or utensil you could need.
Walkable to the market, branches, and a great coffee shop, the location can't be beat.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention how kind and fun the hosts are - Lynda Lu and Rich are two in a million. We had a small crisis (not stay related) and they jumped in to help without a hesitation. Also have super cool stores about the property. Do chat them up for the best info.

We loved our weekend at the Coral Cabin on Dan’s land. Almost like camping but with a comfy bed, coffee maker and fridge, and not far from town, it was a beautiful (the view!) quiet place to get away to with our dogs. Dan’s directions were clear and he is a friendly, responsive host. Strongly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at the Sugarloaf Ridge glamping site. The facilities and campground were exceptionally clean and well maintained, and it was obvious that the staff take a lot of pride in keeping everything in great shape. Everyone we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful.
One of our favorite parts was the easy access to Sonoma Creek. It was a wonderful place to explore, and we saw an incredible amount of wildlife throughout our stay, making every walk feel like a new adventure.
The absolute highlight was the Fourth of July night hike to Bald Mountain. We were blown away by the amount of effort the park staff and volunteers put into making the evening such a fun, memorable, and educational experience. From the organization to the activities and the enthusiasm of everyone involved, it was clear how much they care about helping visitors connect with the park.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to camp or glamp in Sonoma County, Sugarloaf Ridge is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be back!

My first glamping experience was very good. I really liked the tent—it was spacious and cozy. Inside, we had a queen bed and four chairs, plus four chairs outside and firewood for the campfire. The glamping tents were set up fairly close to each other on smaller sites, which was the only small downside. Other than that, everything was really cool and relaxing.

What a perfect find for the 4th weekend! The location was stunning and the glamping tent was comfortable and private. They provided the dogs with their own beds and food/water bowls, which was such a great touch. It seemed like there was so much attention to detail to make sure you had everything you needed. They were responsive to questions and incredibly helpful. The bathrooms were clean and the “outdoor” shower had an incredible view of the lake. I cannot wait to stay here again!

3 nights at Dylan's Ranch at the Whaleback
Dan's land has beautiful panoramic views. The cabin is near a larger house, but the set up allows for maximum privacy. The cabin is cute and cozy. Comfortable bedding is provided. There is a compost toilet, a hot water outdoor shower, and an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Many kitchen supplies are available. The campsite allows relaxation while still being connected by cell phone and wifi. It's a special place. Highly recommended.

We loved staying at Guido & Emily's property! They are very nice and friendly hosts. The Badger's Den was a perfect addition to our trip, the private sauna, cold plunge and the camp fire made for a very relaxing night!
They also had a very adorable dog Jack and cute cats, all of them friendly to pet.
Would definitely recommend!

We stayed in the badgers den and it was a wonderful and peaceful experience. Both Emily and Guido were so accommodating and friendly. It was the perfect getaway with our small family being surrounded by nature and animals. We purchased eggs and beef from their little farm shop which we highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to The Ranch at Lake Sonoma

This was one of the most memorable stays I've ever had. We felt genuinely welcome. A beautiful space that slows you down, connect with nature, being present. The vortex lights in the tipi were amazing (nice perk)
One of the highlights was meeting Karma, an incredibly talented visionary artist who generously shared a deeply personal Tibetan singing bowl and sound bath (thank you!). It allowed me to sit still, like really still, and the generosity and unique perspective made me feel like I've met these people in a different life.
You will leave feeling different, no matter what you are seeking.

It’s been about two weeks since I stayed at the hives on Yaella’s land and I am already plotting my return!
I brought my 83 year old mother and 17 year old daughter, and they were both thrilled to be there too. The hives are new and clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable, but my favorite part is the big windows that open and overlook the bay!

1 night at Celebration Retreat
Kamala was a wonderful host, very helpful but not overbearing also the witty humor was the best. Accommodations were intimate and not distracting. Tent is at least 6 feet tall and there are plenty of vents and lamp. No other outlets but what I wanted to disconnect. Tent is on a raised wood platform with coverage on top so you get a bit more piece of mind from the elements.
