Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. The Eagles' Nest Treehouse (mentioned above) is very isolated and you may or may not even be aware that there are other people within miles of you. For those who value nature, seclusion, quiet and the artistry of old growth redwood, this is the place for you.

The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area.
Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward.
'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here.
This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground.
Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days.
This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers.
Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Super convenient to get here! We're less than 20 miles from the Sacramento Airport, and just a few minutes off of Interstate 5. Yet you'd never know it once you get to the farm and feel the peace and quiet.

Additional note....Life on the farm is calm, peaceful and easy... operating with the natural rhythm of the
sun cycle. What few clocks we do have, are stuck on twenty minutes past four.

Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!!

also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you.

The "Cazita" is a fully-equipped studio cabin with full kitchen and bathroom.
The "Redwood Nest" is a standalone tiny cabin/sleeping space with no cooking facilities. There is an attached composting toilet and access to an outdoor open air shower.
Both offer quiet seclusion and easy access to all that the lower Russian River Valley has to offer. We are close to both the Russian River, Austin Creek, the coast beaches (15 minute drive), stellar cycling routes and many amazing trails for hiking.
Our south-facing property receives full sun unlike many redwood locations. The "Fairy Rings" have been trimmed up for fire prevention and offer great views and opportunities to appreciate the magnificence of these Redwood giants that we love.
There is great coffee and Amazing pastries at Gold Coast just a mile away in Duncan's Mills. Jenner is only about 15 mins away with Cafe Aquatica and River's End Restaurant (reservations needed-SO good and special)
The "Cazita" sleeps up to 3 guests in a king bed and sofa sleeper and has a bathroom with flush toilet and shower. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare your meals. There is a 2 night minimum for booking.
The "Redwood Nest" is a standalone room featuring a queen bed and bay window looking out onto a redwood stand. There is a composting toilet in the attached outhouse and an outdoor sink. There are no cooking facilities and no cooking allowed. The redwood nest is really perfect for a couple looking to eat out and then sleep, fully at peace beneath the Redwoods.
Please note that there is a friendly dog on the property (although we do not accept pet guests). This property is ideal for quiet people who want to get away into nature, enjoy the outdoors. It is dark at night- we do not have exterior lighting except for string lights and provided flashlights.
Quiet hours begin at 9:30pm.
There is absolutely no smoking of any kind permitted on the property.
Although some reviews mention a hot tub, it is no longer available to guests (sorry, maintenance issues)

We are conveniently located off of US 101, therefore there may be some freeway noise, during commute hours especially. It has become like white noise to me, but it is only fair to mention it.
We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have one pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer.
Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries.
We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River.
We are close to places like Armstrong Woods, Safari West, Getaway Adventures, The Sonoma County Fairgrounds which hosts the Summer Country Concerts among other events, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa Full Camp; Half Marathons Camp; 5K, Sonoma Zip-line Adventures, and Much More!
For you foodies there are Savor Food Tours, Relish Culinary Adventures in addition to all the incredible restaurants in town.

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite.
The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center.
PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this.
PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy.
Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in.
Please note that a $25 setup/cleaning fee is charged per reservation, plus a booking fee.

On 2.5 acres, our property has many beautiful gardens, fruit trees, chickens, bees and a small redwood grove.
Please arrive by 8 pm----otherwise no-one will be here to meet you and its not easy to find.
The glamping tent is on a platform with 1 full size bed .The tent is next to a garden area with a picnic spot. We do not provide towels or bedding.
We supply drinking water at the campsite.
The site has a shared bath house with a flush toilet and an indoor shower.
We are located 3.5 miles from downtown Sebastopol, 16 minutes from the coast, and near wine tasting, hiking, and great restaurants.

1 night at Point San Pablo Harbor
The Hive is comfy and the bathroom is an easy walk on a deck - but no railing on the steps up to the toilet, so at night, be careful! The checkin process wasn't clear. When I arrived at The Sailing Goat restaurant, the staff was not helpful and didn't even know the Hives existed. They treated my questions about where they were and how to checkin with a little irritation. When I was finally able to reach the host on the phone, she explained how I could walk to the room from the restaurant - an easier walk than what I expected. The room wasn't ready until a little over an hour after the checkin time, so I spent that time in the restaurant. I took Lyft to/from the Amtrak station and on the return trip Monday morning around 9 or 10am, I had to wait nearly half an hour for the driver - just something to be aware of. The staff associated with The Knot Club could not have been any nicer or more responsive - Clay and the sound man were especially helpful and friendly, but really they all were. The restaurant has very good food - but the staff all look like they don't like being there and they're unresponsive and not friendly - a contrast to The Knot Club staff! I had the chowder and the lamb burger and they were both excellent. The host supplied me with 2 liters of water, which was plenty for me during the 36 hours I was there. I hung a dark throw over the window facing the harbor because it was lit up all night pretty brightly. The windows on the other side of the Hive were also lit up from lights outside that were kept on all night - no blackout curtains, so you may need to bring your own. The Hive was impeccably clean - it looked brand new. The bedding was soft and cozy. The restaurant was not open Monday morning at 10am - it may not be open at all on the weekdays - so bring food.

3 nights at Creek View Tree House
This is a supremely quiet, restful, and convenient home base! We enjoyed everything from local walks, to a bioluminescent kayak tour out at Jenner (led by the hosts downstairs resident), to dining and walking in nearby towns, to the Rio Nido movie theater which is housed in a quanset hut, to Pee-wee golf in Guerneville, to a day trip to Harbin Hot Springs in Middletown!
If you’re comfortable with washcloth baths, and a few other very minor inconveniences – – mind you, thisis called glamping – – this is a great place for you.
We ate and slept well without too much fuss at this little house. Keep a simple at home menu to balance out with going out.
There is plenty of nature to experience nearby including Redwood forests. Nearly equidistant between the coastline and nearby towns, you have plenty of options for groceries and supplies.
Our host, Sue, has a warm personality, is very caring about nature and conservation, and all sentient beings. If this is your orientation, you will sincerely enjoy interacting with Sue. She is a font of tips and helpful. A super nice person!
You have the option of using a couple of beautiful hammocks, and/or a gas powered fire ring. We were out and about every day until nighttime, so we did not take advantage of either. When we visit again (which I think is quite possible) we will make sure we make use of both!
You have three heating appliances available. The place feels very private. Refuse is sorted into three categories. Toilet is a modern composting version.
For environmentally conscientious travelers, this place is perfect!

A wonderful escape from the city chaos. As you drive in you forget you were in a city only seconds before and disconnect from it all. Saw groups of deer every time I was on the road. The cabin is cozy, clean and well stocked with coffee. It was a lovely experience.

1 night at The Olive Farm
The host is super nice (we lost an antique earring and he went out of his way saying he’s a master at finding them and found it and is sending it!)… The cabin is super sweet, plenty of windows for cross breeze, a nice deck to sit out on. One full or queen bed and one double twin day bed, plenty of dimmable lighting, string lights on the outside. The porta potties were very clean and not smelly at all. Would definitely go back again, except for two nights instead of one, because it was too short!

Weekend Trip to Point San Pablo Harbor
I had a great stay at point San Pablo. Our host was so kind and thoughtful. She told us all about the area. It’s such a sweet community. We got dinner at the sailing goat and listened to live music. We stopped here on a multi day bike packing trip and we slept so well in the hive. I also loved that the hive runs completely off solar! So cool. High recommendation. We’ll definitely be back.

I love Sugarloaf and especially the glamping sites from Hip Camp. It’s easy to add extras to make your arrival not feel like a chore. Extra tents, bedding and more can be set up for you. Beautiful spacious sites. There isn’t reliable cell service but there is WiFi at the camp store - which my kids love to visit for ice cream.

We absolutely loved staying at The Ranch! We wanted a good medium between camping but with basic comforts (bathroom, bed, etc.). The room was very spacious, and our dog loved having her own little bed (and the food and water bowl was a nice addition). The bed was amazing, one of the best we've ever slept on and the pillows were great. It was chilly at night but with all of the extra blankets we were practically sweating! The view was beautiful, and the bathroom was clean. We already decided we will be coming back for another weekend getaway :)

We had such a wonderful weekend at Snug Harbor! It was our first time staying here, and we loved being by the water, enjoying the sunsets, fishing, and just spending quality time as a family. The glamping setup made it comfortable for my parents while still giving us that fun outdoor experience.
Terri was also very accommodating and responsive, which we truly appreciated. We left with beautiful memories and already miss the peaceful feeling of being there. Sometimes the best trips aren’t about going far—they’re about having the right people beside you and enough time to enjoy each other. Snug Harbor gave us exactly that. ❤️
