Weekend Trip to Roughlands

The platform and tent were awesome. Super chill spot. Great for relaxing. The bathhouse was luxurious!

This campsite was awesome! I did tent camping and Bobby has several secluded campsites to choose from. The communal area is beautiful, functional, and inviting. Bobby is an involved and friendly host. There’s a large fire pit and the commercial kitchen is great. This was the easiest camping I’ve ever done and I would absolutely come back again. This area is home to many fun hikes, lakes, and near a cool state park with a cave tour.

3 nights at Serene Country Paradise

This was our second time staying here, and we already want to come back again. The first time was in the winter — cozy vibes, evenings by the fireplace, board games, hot tub at sunset… it was perfect. This time we came in the summer and spent so much time outside — swimming in the pool during the day, relaxing in the hot tub at night. Completely different vibe, just as amazing. We noticed so many little improvements since our last stay. The yard is now fully fenced (huge plus for our dog who loves to explore), the fridge is bigger, and there are more than enough hangers now — Kelly really listens to feedback, and it shows. Even though the room is technically part of the main house, we felt like we had our own space the whole time. No shared areas, no awkward run-ins — just your own private entrance straight to the yard with all the awesome amenities. Kelly is a super thoughtful and welcoming host, always checking in to see if we needed anything. We love this place — peaceful, beautiful, and just feels good to be there. Can’t wait to come back 💖

We loved staying here! The campsite had a great view! It was remote and quiet, even with other guests nearby. The bathroom is so nice and the hot tub was a special touch, especially after paddle boarding. It would be tight for 8 people, but worked for 2 tents. We can’t wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Starry Hot Tub/Cold Plunge Glamping

We had a really lovely time on Ellie and Jack’s land, the yurt stay was perfect! It was secluded and peaceful while still being so close to Nevada City. Perfect for a Yuba River weekend! We loved the amenities too, the hot tub and cold plunge were excellent and we really appreciate the touch of being provided robes and slippers. Thank you so much!

We had such a relaxing stay!The host Bobby was so kind and responsive answering questions quickly and offering great local tips.The hot tub was a major highlight.At night,the stars were unbelievable— no city lights just a sky full of wonder!

4 nights at Rollins Lake Retreats, A/C & WIFI

We thoroughly enjoyed the Farmhouse Cabin at Rollins Lake. It was clear that the host put thought and care into ensuring we were comfortable; from the A/C and nice furnishings, to the fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. They even provided a bath bomb for the outdoor tub (which was to die for, btw). The lake was a short, but strenuous hike away - but also a short drive. Loved the lake. Loved the Empire Mine State Park nearby. The cabin felt remote, but was close to town. We are grateful our dog was welcome. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

4 nights at Private Yurts - Nevada City

I rented both Yurts for a guys trip and our experience was 15 out of 10. We had the best time staying at Nathan's spot. The outdoor fire, outdoor shower, and wood fired hot tubs were so amazing. An epic place to feel totally off the grid, but still have the amenities you need for a comfortable visit (e.g. cooking, beds, etc.). Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

1 night at Serene Country Paradise

Well besides the obvious (pool), I was greater very nicely and made comfortable. To my surprise I was given some delicious steak amd cheese sammich and home fries and salad which was epic cause I had been motocycle camping for a week already and haven't had a real meal. 😅 Superb hospitality and a comfy nestle id recommend.

Weekend Trip to Golden Briar Camp

Terry’s property was perfect for our annual family camping trip. The property is very well kept, and the hosts are very gracious. The kids loved the fishing pond and having so much space to play. We were in the big group site, right by the fishing pond. The site is a large fenced in area, so the kids could safely explore and play to their hearts content. There was also a nice propane fire pit, three picnic tables, lots of room for tents, and plenty of chairs. And my husband and I brought our trailer, and there was plenty room for that as well. All in all a great weekend. I highly recommend this site!

1 night at Serene Country Paradise

We had an amazing stay at Serene Country Paradise with our three dogs! The property is peaceful and spacious, with stunning views that made every morning and sunset feel magical. The room was incredibly spacious and had everything we needed, a comfy couch, TV, utensils, and all the little touches that made it feel like home. The bed was especially beautiful, comfortable and perfectly placed to face the door, so we could wake up to the most breathtaking view right from under the covers. So peaceful! The bathroom was spotless and fully stocked with fresh towels and all the essential amenities, which we really appreciated. We also used the BBQ grill, which made for a great outdoor sunset dinner. Our dogs had the best time running around and soaking up the open space, it’s such a welcoming and pet-friendly spot. We spent most of the day swimming in the pool, which was a highlight! We didn’t get around to using the hot tub since we were so relaxed (and tired!) after swimming, but it’s definitely on our list for next time. The beautiful horses on the property were the cherry on top, so gentle and peaceful, they really added to the serene atmosphere. This place truly lives up to its name, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, dog-friendly escape with all the comforts of home!

Weekend Trip to Private Yurts - Nevada City

The yurts are beautiful and private. They are both incredibly well stocked with just about everything you could want or need. Kitchenware, bug repellent, wood, etc. Only downsides were the bugs were crazy at dusk and the couch in the bigger yurt wasn’t the most comfortable. Nathan was incredibly responsive to any questions we had before our arrival and once on site. Very reasonably priced for the location and accommodations.

Learn more about this land: Tent sites are next to the pear orchard. Location: Use google maps and locate 1071 Fruitridge Rd in Placerville, CA. When you get to 1071, which is a house on the right side of the paved driveway, look for our Hipcamp sign in red, turn hard right into the orchard and follow the red arrows past a wood barn, and up to a small red shed. At this point you may camp in the meadow next to the shed or you may proceed to the next meadow over to the left (follow red arrows and look for umbrellas). We normally only have one site occupied per evening. Ocaisonally two sites will be occupied. The sites are very private and quiet as this is a large, private ranch. You can park close to your tent site. 2WD / 4WD access weather permitting. We offer 3 sites in a large meadow area. Max of 4 persons per site. RV's welcome but we do not have hookups. RV's will be parked next to our barns surrounded by pear orchards. Fresh drinking water is available in the tent meadow area. Hot showers are now available at $10 extra per nite per site. A gas BBQ is also now available for $10 extra per nite per site. Deer, wild turkeys, geese aplenty. Ample walking opportunities on our ranch and wild forestlands and amazing granite rock outcrops. Visit the South Fork of the American River (you can raft in summer!) Hunt for old gold mines on our place and, maybe, find some new ones! Go wine tasting very close by (Lava Cap, Madrone, Boeger) and visit Sutter's Mill in Coloma, where gold was discovered back in 1848.

This magical and private Yurt in the woods are just 2 miles from Nevada City Come experience the Beauty of the Sierra Foothills and the Yuba River in our Yurts tucked into the forest just 2 miles from downtown Nevada City. With a natural creek right outside your door and hiking trails right off the deck, this serene and beautiful yurt retreat awaits you. Nevada City is renowned for its excellent food, shopping, nightlife and farmer’s market. A leisurely walk into town takes 45 mins, bike in 15 or drive in 5. Grass Valley is 10 minutes away as well and has more food, shopping, and entertainment for you. Access to the Yuba River is as close as 20 mins to Edwards Crossing and 20 mins to Hoyts Crossing on Highway 49. We absolutely recommend trying to stay for two or more nights so that you can get accustomed to the space, learn the property, settle in, and relax. Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm. Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night. Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot. Things you might like to bring: headlamps, robe, flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes. Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious. The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils and sweat in your body please! The outdoor shower is lovely :) Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. Please leave the lighter behind for the next guest. Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights, It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. This is a real treat during our hot summers. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season. We live in the woods, there are bugs and wild animals on/or near the property. This is part of the country charm and should be expected. Please don't leave food outside. Land acknowledgment: We acknowledge that our property is located on unceeded land. It is the traditional homeland of the Nisenan tribe. The Nisenan tribe is alive and active and continues to fight for federal recognition and compensation for land loss. Welcome to the cabin with the best views in all of Arnold. Many guests return year after year. A generator ensures that power outages do not affect your ability to enjoy your stay. Every room is light and bright. We back up to open forest where you get a sense of privacy. A private hillside with provided sleds allows kids many hours of fun. The large kitchen is well stocked. A complimentary bottle of wine awaits you. We are very close to Spicer SNO park and Bear Valley Ski resort. The space The home contains three bedrooms (2 bedrooms + loft) and sleeps 6 comfortably. NO STAIRS! The driveway pulls right up to the front door. We are one of only a few properties that have no stairs to navigate to the front door. HANDICAP-FRIENDLY Our property is handicap and elderly friendly! There is a queen room on the entry-level floor making it easy for handicappe or elderly to enjoy the house without climbing stairs. Our property is lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. Please note the Cabin is set on a seasonal CANNABIS garden. All three sites are vacation spots with AC and WIFI, not just simple accommodations, but experiences. The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or drive 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants. We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! In summer there is a 3-night minimum for the cabin and dome. Occasionally a two day midweek will pop up on the schedule last minute. To see correct pricing, enter your dates as they can fluctuate with holidays, weekends. Prices are decreased midweek. We have 3 accommodations on the property -A GUEST SUITE (lakeside), up to 5 people. -A CABIN (15 min walk or 3 min drive/5 min walk, up to 4 people. -A GLAMPING DOME with an additional teepee tent site (lakeside)!
