This is an outdoor private YOME near our pool. Access to pool, BBQ (bring utensils you would bring camping, plates, napkins, towels, etc.  There is a small sink to wash dishes (pleases only liquid down the drain) but we do not supply dishes, so paper/disposable stuff required if you plan on cooking)  The pool, hot tub and outside bathroom is shared with our small family and anyone staying in the Poolside Lounge during the day if people are swimming, so you may meet some new people while staying at our place.  The outdoor bathroom will be shared when other guests are at the pool swimming or hanging out and need to use the toilet, but most likely during the evening hours, it will be all yours, we always try to give a heads up if there will be anyone using the bathroom in the evening.  The pool is shared, we live on the property across an easement and we have other rentals on the property. There is total privacy at the YOME. Everyone who comes to stay is friendly and chill, no drama here and not a party place, just good vibes :) We have a small farm on our property with chickens and loads of rare tropical fruits and veggies and we love to give tours and share with our guests. Fun Fact: Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. Weekend Trip to Hideout Mountain Lodge

Booked a spot in the Cove tent camping area. Very peaceful and secluded. Cows in the valley below brooding daytime and at night coyotes howling. Lots of stars in the clear skies. It was cold at night, late February, (low 40's) so I decided to car camp. The camp hosts are really sweet. The toilet was close and very well kept. This is a quiet spot, yet only about a 25 minute drive to downtown Julian. I was the only tent camper, the cabins near by had occupancy. There is also a lower tent camping area that gets much more sun. I hesitate to recommend it for selfish reasons! Definitely a place I will return to. Great spot!

It is laid out really well and has something for every type of camper. You feel like you’ve gone so far away and yet it is right here in our north county backyard!

What an amazing experience! Ben has created such a special property. We arrived late Friday and stayed till Monday. So much to enjoy. The property is huge and offers fun walks and mild hikes. The highlight was the goats! We were lucky enough to arrive the week the new baby goats were born! What a treat.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Splitrock’s Hilltop Hideaway. We had the whole area to ourselves and stayed on the upper level which gave way to spectacular views of the entire valley. We had an unexpected treat as a whole tribe of goats came up and hung out with us for a while and one of their sweet dogs. Looking forward to going back in the summer and would highly recommend.

This place was exactly what it says it is, the views are stunning, and there is lots to explore. Perfect place if you have a doggie who needs to run around as well. Vicki is super welcoming and friendly, and leaves you be while you are camping. Bringing a bundle is a good idea, but you can always find food nearby to keep the fires going. Made it up there in my Corolla which is really low to the ground. Just make sure you are paying attention to the road if you have a low car like mine, because there’s a lot of spots you can bottom out but there is always a way around them. If they are booked up you will see and hear the other campers around you. Overall a really good vibe and would reccomend to anyone. A little cold up there so layer up.

The dirt road up to the ranch was slightly narrow at some points but still an easy drive up. Very peaceful and calm once we settled into our campground. Vicki was very welcoming and friendly as well as the other hosts. We will definitely plan a second trip back soon!

Splitrock was a great campsite! We weren’t expecting such beautiful and spacious setups with running water, bathrooms and even a grill! The grill seemed to have some trouble with the gas and I was only able to get the burner to work but otherwise it was fantastic! 10/10 will be returning!
