The land was purchased from the railroad in 1908 by Grandpa Coen when he immigrated to the USA after his service to the British Empire during WW1.
Grandpa established and maintained the vineyards during his life in California's Central Valley which he left to his daughter, Irene. She kept the farming tradition going with her husband, Al, and they expanded by purchasing surrounding land and planting more vines. Today their daughter, Cheryl, and son-in-law Rand continue the family farming tradition for the next century.

Our ranch is a 5 acre walnut grove, of which there is a dedicated RV/Camp site that is fenced off and landscaped for your outdoor country/farm life experience. Within the site there is a fire pit for you to enjoy an evening fire. There is 30/50 Amp power hook ups for an RV’s, Motor homes, and Travel Trailers, as well as water hook up/supply. (50 AMP Customers are subject to an additional $10.00 fee per night) There is a grassy area with shade trees to enjoy some outdoor comforts while staying at the campground. There is a private driveway that leads from the main road directly to the camp site. Easy parking, plenty of outdoor space within the campground that is 70 feet wide and 60 feet deep. Musick Cove completely exceeded my expectations. I came as a solo traveler and was made to feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived.
The hosts are warm, generous and just good people. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed — from lending me gear to surprising me with pizza and a chocolate malt that I'm still thinking about!
The property itself is beautiful — the sound of the falls as your backdrop is something else. Even with a storm rolling through, the place had its own magic.
If you're looking for a spot where nature meets genuine hospitality, this is it. I'll absolutely be back on a sunny day. Highly recommend! 🙏

Shandie is an amazing host! She offered us free firewood because the temperatures got so low at night. She’s very personable and keeps a very well maintained property.
This site was absolutely stunning. There are a handful of waterfalls right in the campsite. You can also explore the area and end up in the national forest if you go far enough.

Check in was seamless and the contact with the hosts was great. We really enjoyed the grounds and all of the amenities. Driving in is a bit of a struggle, but totally manageable with a Toyota Camry (even if it doesn’t quite look like it). Views driving in make it worth the tight corners.

I had such a wonderful time camping at the Sequoia Highland! The directions and self-check-in process were so smooth and user-friendly. The staff was incredibly accommodating.
When our initial reservation had a maintenance issue, they moved us to another yurt without any fuss. They also kept me in the loop about fire pits and shared great local recommendations.
My biggest tip for anyone planning a visit: try to arrive early enough if you plan to enjoy some cooking time.
If you’re not into cooking, keep in mind that the pizza shop on the way up the mountain closes at 8 p.m., so it’s good to plan ahead.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. Definitely a 10 out of 10. I'm already excitedly trying to organize a group trip, maybe with a few yurts and a cozy cabin.

Thistledew Ranch was the perfect base camp to explore Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. My daughter and I spent 2 nights here in our Sprinter and it was great. Nice big fire pit which we thoroughly enjoyed steaks on.

We had the most amazing stay at the Midway Lookout. This site is a little hilly for those that are looking to back straight into a spot, but we packed everything in. Also, theres 2 fire pits, but we only used the lower one, as we had a very large tent with us. The views from here are impressive, especially sunset and sunrise, and the sounds of the waterfall so peaceful. Shandie made sure to greet us when we arrived, and gave us a lot of advice on trails, sights, amenities, and made us feel very welcomed. Jesse also was a great host delivering firewood, giving us some history of the area and checking to be sure we were comfortable.
Overall this was exactly what we were hoping for for our 1st camping trip with 2 kiddos under 10. Very peaceful, little adventure, and lots of memories.
The nights do get very chilly, but even prior to our stay Shandie was very communicative and let us know some of what to expect, so we were well prepared. I can't say thank you enough to how amazing our hosts were and how well they take care of this amazing location.
We will definitely be back when the weather gets warmer so we can spend more time in the pools by the lower falls.
