Our property is 7.4 miles down a dirt Indian Route road through a significant wash and while 4 wheel drive is ideal, you can make it in nice weather conditions without 4 wheel drive. Keith’s sister made it in her Chevrolet Sonic, for example. Large RVs (>30') may scrape along the way; we did with our 40' fifth wheel. Our 60 acre property offers a unique experience for those looking for a place to unplug and explore with plenty of privacy and room to roam. You'll enjoy incredible views of the Painted Desert, Gray Mountain, and the San Francisco peaks. The night skies will be unlike anything you’ve seen unless you have been in the middle of the ocean with no light pollution. Some important things to note about our property: Our property will always and forever be a Safe Place for all people. We hold no prejudices regardless of race, ethnicity, or creeds. We are a clothing optional campground, which means you may, if you so choose, be naked on our property. We are pet-friendly. We have two medium size puppies. Hawks Hideaway is a family owned property, occupied by a 3rd and 4th generation, mother-son team. Two generations have lived and died here before us and we are proud to be the custodians of this majestic property, full of old growth, gigantic cottonwood trees. A birdwatcher, or naturalists dream. Back to basics with endless desert sky. Hike giant rock sculptures, gather petrified wood, maybe find the hidden pond or seasonal Little Colorado to splash in . This is “Stone Soup,” in honor of unique geology and a folktale where everyone brings something to make a whole greater than its parts. A hut, built with love during musical campouts, materials are recycled from building sites may be available, on a first-come first serve basis, but please don't count on anything being there but the open land and sky. There are 40 acres to explore and camp on. You can follow the property boundaries, or just head straight out from the hut away from the road or on the other side of the road for at least half a mile and camp anywhere. You can drive all over the land in a regular vehicle and find your spot. If you do use the hut, please leave it in better shape than you found it. Same with the land. Here is my vision: Adventurous, creative, nature-loving kindred souls can converge on these 40 acres and bring what they need but also share with one another (the stone soup spirit). Although you do need to take in and out everything (water, food, bedding...) and there is no outhouse at the moment (dunes for some privacy, and thinly bury your waste), you can drive anywhere on the land and have what you need in your vehicle. It sometimes gets windy, so car-camping is recommended over tents, though you can also bring your RV. Basically at the moment, this is an isolated, wild campsite, with total peace and quiet but where you bring everything. There is no running water, cooking supplies, or toilet. You may find firewood further down the road, and can have a fire anytime, but nothing is supplied. You will need to take your trash with you. The photos are not up to date and still show amenities that are not there. The hut may be available, but it is just a structure with no door. Also note that there is no way to get there with Google maps/ GPS coordinate. I will send detailed directions if you book, but you probably want to arrive with some daylight. If prepared to rough it, it's a gorgeous site with open sky, amazing views, stars, rocks, and silence.

Back to basics with endless desert sky. Hike giant rock sculptures, gather petrified wood, maybe find the hidden pond or seasonal Little Colorado to splash in . This is “Stone Soup,” in honor of unique geology and a folktale where everyone brings something to make a whole greater than its parts. A hut, built with love during musical campouts, materials are recycled from building sites may be available, on a first-come first serve basis, but please don't count on anything being there but the open land and sky. There are 40 acres to explore and camp on. You can follow the property boundaries, or just head straight out from the hut away from the road or on the other side of the road for at least half a mile and camp anywhere. You can drive all over the land in a regular vehicle and find your spot. If you do use the hut, please leave it in better shape than you found it. Same with the land. Here is my vision: Adventurous, creative, nature-loving kindred souls can converge on these 40 acres and bring what they need but also share with one another (the stone soup spirit). Although you do need to take in and out everything (water, food, bedding...) and there is no outhouse at the moment (dunes for some privacy, and thinly bury your waste), you can drive anywhere on the land and have what you need in your vehicle. It sometimes gets windy, so car-camping is recommended over tents, though you can also bring your RV. Basically at the moment, this is an isolated, wild campsite, with total peace and quiet but where you bring everything. There is no running water, cooking supplies, or toilet. You may find firewood further down the road, and can have a fire anytime, but nothing is supplied. You will need to take your trash with you. The photos are not up to date and still show amenities that are not there. The hut may be available, but it is just a structure with no door. Also note that there is no way to get there with Google maps/ GPS coordinate. I will send detailed directions if you book, but you probably want to arrive with some daylight. If prepared to rough it, it's a gorgeous site with open sky, amazing views, stars, rocks, and silence.

You can also take in awesome views of the peaks to the east and even see the north wall of the Grand Canyon from the property. There are currently three secluded camp spots, each hundreds of feet away from the other. No services are currently provided other than a designated stone firepit at each site, campers must bring everything they need and leave no trace. Please use the guest trash can located at the main gate. Normally accessible by any passenger vehicle, but significant rain may create enough mud to require 4WD. The property is exceptionally quiet and clean, far away from city noise and pollution. It sits on the border of the Kaibab National Forest, where guests can walk through untouched old-growth forest. Numerous elk visit the mesa in late summer, mule deer are common, and there's lots of other wildlife to see. This is a peaceful place to camp away from everything and still be able to visit numerous nearby attractions of every kind. Coming soon: each campsite is getting it's own clean outhouse and a picnic table under a ramada, plus other improvements as budget allows.

Sacred Springs is such a special spot. You can feel the peaceful energy of the land the moment you arrive. It’s beautiful, quiet, and the perfect place to unplug and spend time in nature. The hosts have created such a thoughtful space for campers. There are paddle boards right by the water, fun rock painting, hot showers, and a fully stocked community room that makes everything feel comfortable and welcoming. It’s clear a lot of love has gone into making this place special for guests. I absolutely loved my stay here and already can’t wait to come back. If you’re looking for a peaceful and unique place to camp, Sacred Springs is a little gem. Highly recommend

Where to begin! From the moment we booked our site at Sacred Springs, Gary and Daren were thoughtful, communicative, flexible and seemingly the kindest hosts. While all that remained true throughout our stay, it doesn’t even begin to describe the level of wonderful that is Gary and Daren. They have expertly crafted the vibes at Sacred Springs - from your tour in the beginning, the lighting throughout the property at night, the beautiful walk down to the grotto, where you’re welcomed with art supplies and a craft table, down to the creek where you’ll find the most comfortable hammocks, a plethora of kayaks and paddle boards, and the most beautiful rock formations where the water reflects onto, in their community room they have thought of EVERYTHING you may need, the hot shower you can take or the refreshing solar shower (by the way, they provide towels and they smell SO GOOD), a pristine outdoor bathroom, the campsite was perfect - overlooking the ridge, equipped with multiple size grills for cooking over, they have created several sitting spaces around the property that are so intentional and perfect for sunrise, sunset, a romantic moment or simply a restful sit. We had the pleasure of chatting with Gary and Daren throughout our trip and they felt like friends we had known previously. I cannot speak highly enough about our stay at Sacred Springs. We left feeling rejuvenated and already planning our return. Thank you Gary and Daren for creating such a wonderful space 🤍

We really appreciated being able to boondock at Grand Canyon Oasis. It was the perfect stop on our way home to CO. The views were beautiful, the location was super convenient, and on moonless nights the stars would be amazing. The facilities are fun and the hosts were very welcoming. One thing for anyone with pop up campers like we had, the Hwy is close and you do hear the road noise, so for light sleepers just take note. It wasn’t an issue at all for us and in full RVs or the tiny homes it’s probably not an issue either. I also appreciated how the property was set up as it felt very private, safe, and secure, despite being right off the hwy. Finally, while we didn’t have our dogs on this trip, they are pet friendly and working on a fenced dog area, which is a huge plus! I would definitely stay there again!

Very friendly staff. The area is perfect for stargazing, is located between both entrances for the Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument loop, and they even rent tiny homes for the night versus just having rv spots. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the clubhouse which has ping pong, darts, pool, skeeball, TV, books, arts and crafts supplies, etc. It's got options for fun for the whole family.

Such a peaceful spot. Woke up to hot air balloons flying over head. Perfect location, close enough to Sedona but not too close. Loved the hiking in the area. Definitely recommend and would most certainly return when in the area.

Great place! Shelley and Adam greeted us and showed us around and gave us all the info we needed. Adam is about to complete a large dog park on the property. Terrific lodge room w/kitchen, snacks, games ,TV, warm water restroom , ping pong, seating and a great family feel. Give these guys a shot. 5 stars!!

Jennifer and George are the perfect hosts. There if you need them and otherwise give you your privacy. It’s a perfect location for hiking Sedona. I could be on the trail in 20 min. Also from camp it’s a great walk down to Oak Creek low water bridge. I stayed for 4 nights and then rebooked for 12 more!!

Stopped in for a quick overnighter. We were Boondocking so we didn’t use the amenities. The views of the snow cap peaks was beautiful from this location. Nice tiny house village. The owners were courteous and professional. Would definitely stay there again.

First time booking anything like this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Start to finish it was amazing. Gary greeted us at the gate even as we got turned around from a flooded road (which he’d advised us of but I just didn’t read carefully lol) and showed us around all the amenities at the camp site. You could practically show up in your car with just your change of clothes, there’s everything you can think of. Gary and Darren were always available accommodating for the cold snap, and our incessant need for firewood. The paddle boarding was really fun and the rest of the site was beautiful. It didn’t feel like a hotel it felt like you were crashing at your friends place it was such a warm and welcoming environment and very relaxing.

We had a wonderful stay at Mary’s site. She was very responsive and friendly. My daughter enjoyed meeting her cute little puppies and seeing all of the animals nearby. The views are beautiful and there are some hiking trails in walking distance from the campsite. We had so much fun hiking in Sedona, we ended up staying a second night. Would definitely recommend!

The location, surrounding, and host were awesome! We enjoyed our nightly owl visit and Vicky’s great stories about her connection to the area. Nice and close to Sedona. We stayed an extra night to take in the nearby hiking and ruins. Highly recommend staying here!
