Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

1000/10- wow. Everything we needed and more. Karla is such a caring and considerate host with a magical place to share. My dog and I booked as a last minute self care getaway. Upon our arrival, the sun was still up and I already saw the magic: the horses, the donkey, the quaint sleeping area, the rocking swings, the pool area!! But then the sun went down and all the colorful lights turned on! I was so relaxed and happy that I fell asleep on my yoga mat outside in the dirt at 9pm - in the middle of yoga! I took myself to bed and slept so peacefully to dessert nightlife and horse sounds. The sun rises in the direction the camp faces- I was woken up so gently by the first signs of light and proceeded to finish my yoga sesh. Spent the morning contemplating life on the hammock and visiting with the breathtaking horses and donkey. I cannot express how much I needed this and how thankful I am to have had this experience at the hummingbird ranch🤍

This location is AMAZING. Karla has done a wonderful job developing her land, and is such an amazing welcoming host. She met me rolling in, showed me where to park, gave me the lay of the land and THEN, when I discovered some inside-the-camper damage (door stripped from wood frame d/t road vibrations) allowed me to walk through her massive tool garage to get everything I needed to fix it. I told her I'd likely be leaving very early, and she was up waving g goodbye as I was leaving at 5am! She try cares about her space, as well as her guests. And be warned, her pool is COLD! I expected it to be desert sun warmed, but it was uber refreshing! Thank you, so much, Karla, for everything.

We had a lovely stay at Big sky Ranch. We had no idea there was also a brewery and live music on site. We were there on a Sunday so it was closed but what a great addition. The staff was nice and directed us to pick any site we wanted. As we were dry camping we found a great shady spot. It was quite, only one other couple camping at the other end. There was some slight noise from neighboring dogs, but it didn't bother us at all. The resident Rooster made sure we woke up early to get ready for the Petrified Forest. The cow was a doll and Goats hilarious. We will definitely make plans to come back and stay with friends when the brewery and music are happening. I guess there are food trucks too. What a little Gem!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karla’s, I honestly don’t think it could have been better. If we weren’t en route to a wedding, we would have stayed longer than one night. We will visit again at some point. We were doing some wine tasting and just generally driving around the Elgin area as we’ve been through before but never stopped. Glad we stopped and beyond glad we met Karla and got to enjoy her sanctuary.

Mountain View 3 has 30 amp power and water access. This is best for vans and small rvs

5 nights at Verde River Vortex Adventure

We had the best time at Crystal Loft Cabin! Jason was an incredible host offering all the tips you could need on everything from places to eat, hike, kayak, bike, live music, etc. He even came to pick up my friend and I at the end of kayaking on the verde river! Crystal Loft is a perfect space 17 minutes outside of downtown Cottonwood, and 40 or so from Sedona with amazing star views, and all the amenities you could need. It was mid 80’s-low 90’s when there, but cooled off perfectly in the evenings, and Jason had an AC unit and fan that kept the cabin perfect temp. The bed on the upstairs loft was comfortable. Highly recommend this spot- so glad we found it. Thanks Jason!

1 night at Epic Private 300 Acre Saguaro Park

This was a great experience. Great views, wonderful dark sky at night this is an excellent spot to explore. Hosts are perfect. They have great knowledge and are so very helpful. The airstream was perfect. Excellent AC, Internet and Netflix.

1 night at Tickled Pink Flamingos Campground

My girlfriend and I loved the tent camping! The sights were beautiful, the area allowed for a great view of the desert. We drove a front wheel drive Passat and got there without any problems.

Host is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Explains everything well on arrival. It’s a nice lil horse ranch with great sunsets. Pool area is immaculately kept. Bathroom is easily accessible and shower is clean with good water pressure. It is windier down there so we kept a 4 man tent inside. More than enough space to leave the table in and cook still. Great place for stop thru’s or long weekend. Well lit at night if safety is a concern of yours.

This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You must arrive by dark. My gates will be closed at dark. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. My place is 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. You will see a lot of quail and other birds on the property. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Each tent, and/or a place where people sleep is a campsite....in other words you can't book 1 tent camping site and then add your friends who come in their vehicle and set up a campsite. That is 2 campsites. NOTE- The only bad review I have is from someone who booked one campsite then had her friends come during the night and take another site. I had the nerve to ask them to pay for that extra site. (they refused). My photos-At the end of my gallery are photos of "PROJECTS", things I've made. We are a 30 amp full hook up (sewer, water & electrical) for 33’ RV’s and living quarters horse trailers. You will also have access to our community laundry area, with a large garbage can to dump a bag if needed. Some suggestions for town; Grab some quick delicous breakfast and coffee at Janey’s. Or American cuisine lunch at The Horny Toad, a Mexican cuisine dinner while watching the turtles in the pond at El Encanto! Ofrenda, right at the end of the road, also has great authentic Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants to choose from all within a short drive. Bashas, Safeway, Target, and Walmart and Sprouts are all within a 3-6 mile drive too! We have two turnout pens for horses. That are located right behind where you will park your trailer. They both have a cover that provides some shade, as well as running water. We do not provide any feed, so please make sure you bring some! We ask that you please do not feed any horses that do not belong to you. Or go into any pen that your horse is not in. For safety and respect :) Thank you in advance.
