Very peaceful get away. Fun to wake up to the roosters and spend time with the goats. All of the animals are very friendly. Hosts are gracious in opening their space and making breakfast fresh from the farm. Tipis are a cool place to stay.

Mountain goat lodge was so quaint and was a great spot to camp, with some of the little luxuries of “glamping”.. The shared bathroom within a less than minute walk with a shower and toilet, as well as the lamp in the teepee and an outlet for a phone charger made the stay more comfortable than a traditional campsite. In July, an added sleeping bag and pillow was all that was needed with the bed provided in the teepee to stay warm and get a good nights sleep. The farm with the goats, cow, chickens, and roosters, as well as the friendly farm dog were an added bonus. Downtown salida was a short drive if you want to go into town for dinner, activities, shops.

It was in a quiet area not too far from Salida. You might get a kick out of being around ranch animals such as goats and chickens. The “Ranch Dog” Layla was especially friendly!

Gina and Darcy are amazing. Great place to stay. Next time I’m staying at the lodge. The tipi experience was great but I’m a one and done for different experiences. Best breakfast ever!!!!!

We loved our stay! Amazing views, great outdoor space, the property is fun to explore, and the hosts are so nice. Would definitely recommend for those who enjoy glamping!

Gina and D’Arcy are fabulous. The RV was fun and pretty much what you’d expect - would have been even better if I was under 6 ft, but it’s still fun, right? The cheese making class and general animal education was SO amazing, and we’d happily come back for more. It’s a little closer to the highway than I expected but it really turned into white noise for us. We’ll return for another round (at least) to spend with such wonderful hosts and fellow guests!

The views are breathtaking. They’ve opened their land to provide a unique self-sufficient tipi-camping homestead experience. Waking up to the crow of roosters and the smell of fresh greenhouse basil after an evening watching the sunset and goat-grazing from a hot tub deck was an evening needed and treasured!

We loved staying in the tee pee on this beautiful goat farm! The breakfast was the best meal we had the whole trip and they even let us milk the goats during the farm tour. Such a unique and beautiful place and we'll definitely be back:).

Wonderful little property with chickens and goats. We stayed in the tipi's and they were the perfect little spot. I do recommend checking the weather beforehand because when it's raining it's so cold. I was unprepared though, but if I had extra layers it would've been an easier night. The lodge 12 minutes from downtown, and 20 from Buena Vista.

Tipi camping was great. It is a tipi setup on a deck with a queen sized bed. I only stayed one night before I began a hike the next day. It was nice to have a bath house and warm shower to use in the morning. Make sure to bring your own sleeping bag/bedding and other camping supplies you may need.

Really enjoyed our two nights in the retro camper. Dawn is an amazing asset to the farm, and the place was clean, safe and friendly. The nearby town of Salida and the Arkansas River were artsy and full of great shops and restaurants.
Such an asset to Colorado. Thank you for your hospitality and a big hug to Layla the dog and Delilah the goat.

Enjoyed the tipi under the bright starry sky. Gina & D’Arcy provided a wonderful breakfast I ordered during my stay. The cot/mattress was very comfortable and only a few steps from the shower house. Loved it!!!

We loved being so cozy in our tipi. The bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed the animals so very much. We hiked the property which was beautiful. Bathrooms were very convenient. We had a nice quiet sleep overnight. Our hosts were very pleasant and our breakfast basket and made to order coffee were epic! Thanks Gina and D’Arcy! We hope to return!

This was such a great spot! Perfectly far away and close as you can get - the tipi was so comfortable and waking up to the sounds of the farm and the views.. amazing! Also, the breakfast baskets were delicious and fresh from the farm :)

Definitely recommend this spot! The teepee was very nice, comfy queen mattress. We even squeezed in an extra cot they provided since we are a family of 3. The location is great with it being only 10 min away from downtown of Salida. the location itself is also beautiful and so well kept. We had a lovely time there and plan to come return!

We had a great stay! The goats and other animals were all friendly and fun to go say hi to and pet. The tipi was cozy and the bed was comfortable. Easy access to bathroom from the tipis. It did rain while we were there. Some rain can come in the tipi. We had a tarp that we put up in the tipi and stayed dry so just make sure you check the weather and come prepared. Also, get the breakfast - it was so delicious!

I loved my last minute stay in the retro-style camper. Easy access from Salida and Poncha Springs and as a solo female traveler, it felt very safe. Lovely breakfast basket in the morning. I never figured out where the hot tub was, but the goats were entertaining.

Retro Escape: Magnolia Trailer
We loved our stay in the two bedroom Vintage Magnolia Trailerhome. It was like stepping back in time and everything, all the little details, are from that time period. Even the record player and records! I absolutely loved it.
Mountain Goat Lodge is a very nice and accommodating place to visit. It is relaxed and earthy with ranch animals, hiking trails, meals provided, and amenities that you would expect from a lodge. The Magnolia Trailerhome is just one of the many places to stay while you are here. They also have Retro Campers, Tipis, and Lodge rooms.
Gina and Darcy are great hosts and are very helpful. They showed us hiking trails around the property and answered all of our questions.
The Magnolia trailer is very comfortable with all the amenities you need. Running water, bathroom and shower, two bedrooms, extra bedding and towels, dishes, and etc, making this a very comfortable stay.
We loved the view from the trailer. You are right next to the goats who are very friendly. There are also chickens and ducks at the duck pond.
Check-in was easy and like I said, our stay was very comfortable. Thank you!

I booked a 3 night stay in this camper without much thought for the surroundings- I just knew it was in the right location for my cross country road trip and I was allowed to bring my cat. I also needed wifi to work remotely- there isn't wifi in the camper itself (they have it in the main lodge) however AT&T gets great service and my mobile hotspot worked like a dream so I could work from the camper. But anyway- the property absolutely blew me away! How nice to be able to wander around the hiking trail and say hi to all the animals after work (adorable and friendly baby goats), pop into the geodesic dome green house, and take a dip in the hot tub at sunset with a view of the mountains. The camper is small but just the right size for one person and a pet, or probably one or two more people if you aren't spending all day in the camper like I was. It has a kitchenette and shower/toilet and I felt comfortable for my entire stay (no concerns at a solo female traveler- and I can't say that about everywhere I've been). Thanks again, Mountain Goat Lodge!

We really enjoyed our time staying here! The views from the property are stunning, and we absolutely loved all the animals, especially the baby goats! Gina was helpful and answered any questions we had upon arrival. The hot tub and fire pit were nice bonus amenities. Definitely anticipate the tipi to get cold and a little buggy at night. Still such an awesome experience and would definitely stay here again!

This experience was fun for my son and I. Its a Tipi, nothing fancy. Be aware that it’s not closed at the top so if it rain it does come into the tipi. It happen to drizzle the night we were there but we were fine inside. The temperature does get cold in there at night. We happen to move to our car around 3 am to finish out the night. They do offer blankets and pillow, however we had our own but it wasn’t enough.
Upon arriving we went to check in and Gina (host) wasn’t that friendly. She was on the computer and never turned around to acknowledge me until I spoke up, however the next morning for breakfast she seemed I little more friendly.
They have chickens and goats. Super friendly. My son really enjoyed petting and watching them.
We bought the breakfast basket for my son and he loved it. Over all it was a place to sleep, and we had never slept in a tipi.
