This is a safe place to get off the road for a bit, or to take a break from the busy/noisy city life, to relax and unwind in nature! Dogs are welcome, but please pick up after your pet! We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station. All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing. Our property in a 160-acre neighborhood surrounded by open desert state lands. In our sustainable community/neighborhood are like minded, peaceful people who are as connected to and respectful of the land as we are. We are looking forward to hosting Hipcampers and sharing our lovely slice of heaven.

This is a spacious, beautiful and private RV site. Bob and Cindy went above and beyond by providing a welcome kit. It’s located in quiet neighborhood next to a preserve with walking trails. The full hookups worked perfectly. The offered 30 amp service would be challenging to keep our RV cool in the warmer months, but was plenty adequate for January.

We really enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle. The only side note is the bushes along the road coming into the site are a bit over grown so it's really tight driving in if you don't want to scratch your vehicle or camper and the road is pretty bumpy but still very worth the seclusion.

Michaelette and her husband Owen are The Best Hosts! Communication before we arrived was excellent. Michaelette and Owen welcomed us when we arrived and helped us back in our travel trailer on a paved pad beside their home. Power, water, sewer and wifi are all included at a very reasonable price. Michaelette gave us a prepared handout with recommended restaurants and places to see in the area, which was very helpful. Thanks so much for having us! We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this great location again if we return for a visit to Tucson.

Camp Saguaro is very conveniently located near Saguaro National park. It's easy to find and access. We stayed in the Javelina Hollow site for two nights in our Sprinter campervan. You may hear other campers nearby, but this site has plenty of privacy with all of the trees/shrubs. The restrooms were very clean and well stocked. The hot showers were wonderful! Overall, a nice, clean, cute, and well maintain property! I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here. The location is near the West entrance of Saguaro National Park. Their bathrooms are clean, the free showers have hot water and there’s even a free charging station for your electronics. There’s also laundry access (for a nominal fee). The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I will come and stay here again when we’re in the area.

Weekend Trip to Camp Saguaro

Nice campsite. The bathrooms and showers look very rustic in the photos, but they are very clean and the water is super hot, which is awesome. There is a dishwashing station with hot water as well. This campground is in a residential area, so you can hear the neighbors chickens and there are dogs barking during the day (it's very quiet at night). 3 minute drive to Saguaro NP. Overall, very nice, we enjoyed our stay.

This is the rare find that makes Hipcamp worth it. Attention to detail, everything works, it's fun, it's a great experience and a great place to camp. It's wild - you'll hear coyotes all night long (and they're closer than you think!) - and the desert is all around you. I can't recommend this team and property high enough.

Michelle and her assistant were very kind and readily available. Michelle has done a really good job at maintaining a clean, cool vibe about the campground. It's very well thought out and employs some really cool metal in their communal restrooms/showers/sink. Although we didn't sleep in the "magic mushroom", since we had our own tent, it was a really fun structure that you could sleep in. Great place, great vibe. Highly recommend this campground.

We had such a good experience here! Everything was so well organized, and the location looks so pretty. It was very easy to find our campsite, even at night. The facilities were in a very clean state, and the shower was very warm. At night, you can hear coyotes. The biggest highlight, however, is the host! She was so kind to us; she gave us so many recommendations for activities around the area. We ended up going on a hike she recommended to us, and it was so nice! We would definitely stay here again!

Full size wood bed for your air mattress, camp pad, etc. Bring you own and bring your sleeping bags or other bedding.

The platform tent site at Weary Traveler Haven was clean, beautiful, and incredibly peaceful—exactly what we were hoping for over the holiday season. Communication with Taylor was excellent from start to finish, making everything easy and stress-free. We truly enjoyed the quiet surroundings and would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing tent- camping getaway. The distant coyote serenade at night was our absolute favorite part of the stay! We look forward to coming back in the future! 🏜️

Wonderful hosts and beautiful grounds. There is a sense of community here and we felt like we were camping with family. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and amenities were a real treat and well maintained. You can tell the hosts truly love this place with all the attention to detail - there is subtle humor, tiny surprises, and quirky artistic touches all around with the signage, santa hats on saguaros, and the gorgeous mercantile filled with antique furniture displays and locally handmade gifts. If you are lucky, you may even meet Leslie and Mark while there, who come in seasonally to man the mercantile and help to maintain the grounds. We will definitely be back here for more Christmas camping and random adventures.

29 nights at Wild Burro Desert Retreat

We truly enjoyed our 28 day stay here. Bob and Cindy were available when needed yet they did not interfere with our stay. The site gave us plenty of room as well as all the requirements for a full hook up. One word of caution would be to make sure and supervise your children walking about as it is a desert and many cacti in the area. They have placed some creatures throughout and finding them was a surprise. Do visit if you can and we will certainly do so again if in this area. Thanks Bob and Cindy for creating this awesome space.

Challenge yourself big time when you climb to the top and enjoy the prominent 1,500-foot peak of this state park. It's a tough climb, but you're tough, too, and there are cables to help you make it to the top.

As you wind up the peak, snapshots of the sea of wildflowers below and stopping to enjoy the view (and catch your breath!). Visitors traveling along I-10 have easy access to this outstanding desert park that has unique geological significance.

Stop at the visitor center to learn about the growth and historical importance of this region. Make sure you take plenty of water on your hike, as it's easy to become dehydrated in the desert. (And bring gloves for those cables.)

This park has 85 campsites available, all with electricity and available to RVs or tents. No water or sewer hookups, but here's a touch of luxury: High-speed Wi-Fi is available!

Picacho Peak Campground

It is a bit pricey but the (free!) hot showers were so welcome after a long day on the road and the sunset over the saguaro cacti was magic.
