Red Hill at Ironwood Forest National Monument, Please read full description This Ironwood Forest National Monument is made up of 129,000 acres and contains a significant system of cultural and historical sites covering a 5,000-year period. Possessing one of the richest stands of ironwood in the Sonoran Desert, This site is easy to access while still boasting incredible views. Plenty of flat area to park you RV and vehicles and still have room to roam. The views of the sun setting over Ragged Top Mountain will surely take your breath away. Very close to the beautiful Ironwood National Forest, and about 20 minutes to Tucson for local amenities. Plenty of space but one camper with a 5th wheel of 42' feedback that he had hard time to get in / out. So listing for 38' max total length . Access is via a dirt desert road. The road is maintained, but very low‑clearance vehicles are not recommended. If you have a low rider, please proceed slowly and carefully. 30A and 50A outlets available at the site == I repeat 38' max total length. I don't want you to get stuck == If you have a very low rider: This is dirt road to access so not recommended.

The surroundings are surreally beautiful and the site is gated so we felt very secure. There has been slight issue with electricity hookup because the opening at the box is too small for our plug, but the host is very responsive and offered converter. Overall would recommend

Red Hill at Ironwood Site 1
I stayed at Site #1 and was immediately impressed by how thoughtfully everything was set up. The space is huge with wide-open views, and the little details—like the soft nighttime lighting—make it feel both beautiful and functional after dark. It’s just bright enough to see without taking away from the calm, peaceful vibe. Even though I never met the host in person, he was absolutely amazing. We texted back and forth quite a bit, and when I ran into an issue with my 30-amp plug, he walked offered to let me come up to his property to use his own plug adapter. That level of support really meant a lot. I highly, highly recommend this place. It’s quiet, calming, and incredibly relaxing—exactly what I needed.

We had the most amazing stay at Lionel’s. Beautiful property to spend our little getaway. All hookups worked and there were no issues finding the location. Lionel was kind and accommodating when I made a mistake in our booking. The Mountain Views, the land, and wildlife were very much enjoyed. We look forward to our next trip. Thank you Lionel!!

What an awesome last minute find!! We absolutely loved this site. It was great for our self-contained teardrop trailer and our kids and dog.

We really enjoyed this location. It was very beautiful and peaceful. The sunset and sunrise views are spectacular. The campsite was easy to get in and out of. We were first time rv camping and a level spot was a must and this had it! We hiked and explored the property. We got woke up by some javelinas but we are amateur campers and left a griddle outside on a small table that might have attracted them. It will be a fun story to tell either way!

I almost don’t want to leave a review so it stays a hidden gem 🤣 Seriously this spot is STUNNING! Super quiet and peaceful with amazing views all around. The site itself is spacious with great extra features like the full hookups, locking gate and even some nice landscaping lighting. The neighborhood is so quiet and really convenient. I was able to walk and run my dog in the morning before work on nice dirt roads. Evenings were spent exploring ragged top which is stunning! Nighttime stars were amazing. We had some javalinas and coyotes visit us which we personally loved! I work full time and my T-Mobile was at 5 bars! I am in a low rider of a RPod and I did hit lightly coming in but overall super easy access…..my RV is just lower than I think the normal (the dump valves). Overall couldn’t recommend enough!

Red Hill at Ironwood Site 1
This is a peaceful place with a great view of the surroundings. There was plenty of level space for our RV. The utilities worked great. There is plenty of biking and hiking right from our spot - no need to drive. It is surrounded by the Ironwood National Monument and Public land. I will be returning.

It is an amazing, secluded campsite, so secluded, we did yoga naked. Beautiful views, the sunsets were amazing. If you’re looking for seclusion privacy, and an amazing vibe, this is the Spot.
