The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need.
The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out.
The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee.
Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away.
There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets.
The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio

Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts.
Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

Decourcy Meadows is a peaceful forested site within a short walking distance to a safe local swimming beach.
We are an RV-only campsite. The site is level and can accommodate vehicles up to 40ft in length. Electrical, sewage, and potable water hookups included.
Amenities include a picnic table, wifi and a fire ring and some fire wood supplied at no cost. If there is a campfire ban in effect we will provide a propane campfire.
The property is about half natural forest and so it's not unusual to see local critters, large and small peeking out!
There are several hiking trails in the area and local parks as well. There are 3 artisans on Decourcy Drive. The world-famous Crow and Gate pub is 4 km from here and the historic Wheat Sheaf Hotel (Pub) is about 5 km. Local restaurants and Cafes, Groceries, Pharmacy are 5 km.
We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes.
Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.

Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent.
We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.
Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it!
The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!
Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley.
Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive.
Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy.

The Forest Sanctuary Bell Tent is our newest addition at Forest Sanctuary and is located within the beautiful Forest Sanctuary Campground in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. The Bell Tent is set up and ready to use. All you need to bring are your sleeping bags and sleeping mats or mattresses.
Renting the Bell Tent offers use of all amenities that Forest Sanctuary has to offer. We have a communal covered outdoor kitchen and lounge with all cookware, dishware and utensils provided. Barbecue and Coleman stove with propane provided. We have a great communal fire pit where you can meet fellow campers from around the world. Also available are solar showers, a great open air outhouse, Drinking water is provided. Firewood can be purchased onsite for when campfires are permitted. Propane fire pits are available for rent.

This property was purchased nearly half a century ago. For the majority of this time the forest section you will be camping in was left undeveloped, apart from a few mountain bike trails. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Gibsons -Sunshine Coast is a 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver BC
Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave.

Recently we decided to share our property that we love and have enjoyed so much for two reasons: to give others the opportunity to enjoy it and to put money away for university. Our parents, Mark and Sarah, got behind the vision and are excited to be part of this project with us.
We would describe our property as: home…and a really fun place to grow up! Our parents thought that wasn’t descriptive enough for Hipcamp so they’ve helped us describe it more.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood in a forest that has been a source of peace, relaxation, and fun for us in our growing up years. We’ve noticed that people who visit here say they feel the same way.
With plenty of space for kids to explore and adults to relax, our 3 acre forest is perfect for down time with a book in the hammock or a nature walk before dinner.

A single, tidy campsite with picnic table surrounded by mature and gently manicured forest, as well as a hammock, and a new construction outhouse. (Go dad!)
We love hospitality, so though we won’t always be around when you’re here, if we are and you need something you can simply ask and we’ll do our best to provide what you need.
To help you feel welcome we provide a fresh, cool jug of drinking water and large container of fresh potable water as well as access to an outside tap to fill water containers if needed (upon request) , power to charge devices (upon request), and a campfire ring with firewood (sorry about the frequent fire bans. Huge bummer. We will post current fire ban status while you’re here.)

We had such a wonderful stay at Forest Sanctuary! The property was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Everything was well maintained, and you can tell the host has put a lot of care into creating such a welcoming space. We especially loved how quiet it was and enjoyed spending time outdoors taking in the scenery. It was exactly what we were looking for and made for a really enjoyable getaway. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Forest Sanctuary to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature!

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
Probably the best private campground in BC. Although I booked the cabin, the tent campsites are perfectly flat with soft soil like grass or sand. Cabin is cozy and if cold, you can start fire in the stove inside to heat it up quickly. Rented the sauna and it was great. Easy to use and very spacious. He really has everything you need there.

We were greeted at the campsite by lovely Dave with a fresh bouquet of flowers! He had a canopy tent, propane fire, table, garbage can, portable toilet, and drinking water available. It was an incredibly clean camping site and a 5 minute walk from the beach and the local town. Dave was easy to get a hold of and communicate with. Highly recommend staying here!

What a great spot! So quiet and peaceful! The space that Cory and Trish have created Isa little piece of paradise ❤️ They have everything you could need for a comfortable stay. They even have a cute little tea house. The eagles and rabbits were a sweet treat. We will definitely stay again.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Jims place and we lived the peaceful atmosphere. Jim was extremely helpful and very welcoming. The site was ideal with a level concrete pad and full services. Also loved the decked area with stunning views over the islands. Handy location with a short drive down the hill to Ganges.

We had a wonderful few days at Cory & Trish's great Hipcamp. The site itself is spacious, spotless, serene and situated next to excellent toilet facilities.
The location is perfect for a few days exploration, especially by bike. We cycled a few kilometres each day and got to Rathtrevor Beach and Moorecroft Regional Park for perfect beach views and walks. There's no shortage of great pubs and cafés again, all within a few feet (The Rocking Horse Pub - next door.....but NOT in a "uh oh this'll be noisy" next door way. We never heard anything - except from inside when England won their FIFA match and we were there watching) to a few kilometres. Highly recommend Rusted Rake for craft brewing and food, Rocking Horse for food, atmosphere, garden and Nanoose Bay Café for Marina views and food.
Treat yourself to a perfect few days of R&R here - it truly is an excellent spot and a great value.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
We had the most magical weekend at the Forest Sanctuary cabin. The property is stunning and you can tell how much love, care and thought has gone into setting up and maintaining this site. Christian was very welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be back very soon!

What a lovely, peaceful place to spend a few days reading and relaxing. Very private. A lot of work went into the enjoyable trail throughout the property.
The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating! Apologized for the campfire ban and provided us with Propane fire ring, complete with marshmallows.

Paul's spot was perfect for our quick overnight stay. We arrived in the evening and headed out early the next morning, but we were fortunate to meet Paul. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We loved walking down to the nearby beach that evening and again the next morning before heading home.

The camping spot was spotless. And unlike almost any other campground, public or private, it was LEVEL AND ON A CONCRETE SLAB!!! We didn’t need the power or water but it was all there. Salt Spring Island is a beautiful place!
