Swimming, waterfalls, hiking, gold & Gem fossicking and wildlife watching - the ultimate camping experience!

Kookabookra Falls is located within the property of Dunooki in and around the historical gold mining region of Kookabookra on the New England Tablelands just 50km Northeast of Guyra. The property consists of 2500 acres of mostly natural bushland complete with stunning views of mountain ranges and deep gorges that seem to go forever.

Kookabookra falls itself cascades down a drop of 80-90 meters on the Nowlands River offering adventurers a rare and up close opportunity into what many consider to be a mini National Park.

Why not try your hand at Gold panning or Gem fossicking? Or perhaps you just want to chill and soak up what Nature has to offer. Or even better, enjoy your favourite beverage whilst cooling off in one of our many waterholes.

Although there are multiple Camping grounds on and near the falls, you will feel like its all yours. You will spend days getting lost as you explore your patch of paradise while here.

Camping Grounds:

* 1-2 Right on the River/Falls - 4WD Camper Vehicles and Trailers only!!

We were lucky enough to be the first campers to experience this absolute gem of a spot. Michael and his family have gone to huge effort to make this a truely unique camping experience. The property is stunning with deep ravines, waterfalls and quiet waterholes. We spotted platypus at dawn and dusk every day, the endangered rock wallaby, turtles and water dragons as well as plenty of birds and other wildlife. This is a remote wildlife haven for those looking for a unique wilderness experience. 4wd experience a must as it is very steep country.

Hi Kate and Oz - Thank you a heap for your kind words. Yes an enormous undertaking took place to make this a special spot for all to enjoy and what better people to have as our first visitors. You, Oz, Family and friends are always welcome here and whats more there is plenty more Gold and Gems to be found - for another time! Stay safe in these unusual times and know there is always a spot for you here. Kind Regards Michael & Family
