Campers can enjoy relaxing around their campfire in the bush, with firepits available at each site. This is combined with the luxury of flushing toilets and hot, gas-heated showers. To make the most of our peace and tranquillity, campsites are scattered in secluded areas throughout the property. There are 4 main camping areas, The Forest Camp, The Creek Camp, The Mountain Camp and The Overflow, each offering something different. We have smaller sites, suitable for a couple, a family or a few friends through to larger sites for groups and all sites have been levelled for a comfortable stay. We cater for all forms of camping including tents, camper trailers and caravans. The campground is accessible by 2WD and 4WD vehicles and firewood, ice and drinking water is available from our office. We are only a 30 minute drive to many local attractions located around Stanthorpe and Killarney. We are a pet-free campground.

If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m high waterfall, nature at it's best. In the vicinity you have the Clarence river at Paddy's Flat Road and Hootons Road within minutes drive from the property. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in 1993 was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. There is an upgraded 12km mountain bike/walking track that allows you to take a cool walk or ride in the forest. Follow the pink ribbon trail! On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. Look for the pink ribbons that mark the trail. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

Welcome to Aloomba Lavender Farm. We offer bush camping with powered and unpowered sites. This means you will not be placed very close to other vans unless you are friends and choose to be together. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Dalmoak Bush Retreat is located just 15 minutes from Stanthorpe on a very quiet country road. This is working a cattle and sheep property. The property is 3000 acres of a mixture of open grazing land and moderately timbered to heavily timbered land. The land ranges from reasonably flat areas to undulating areas, there is also quite steep rocky areas which if you venture up on foot will reward you with spectacular views. It is the ideal spot for getting away from the rat race and just relaxing under the stars. We have slashed a number of spacious areas where camping is allowed and are continually developing the sites for camper comfort. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. In the surrounding area you can go for a walk, ride your push bike and also enjoy looking at the stars at night around your campfire (no light pollution here). Please note there are 2 dams close by therefore parental supervision of small children required. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times to protect our livestock. Please clean up after your pets.

We had a great Easter weekend at Stonepine Ridge. Elizabeth is a great host; very helpful with local knowledge on hiking spots. Our camp was the secret spot and very quiet/private. Great walking/biking track on the property with some spectacular views up near Eagles Nest.

Weekend Trip to Stonepine Ridge 'where eagles fly'

We camped at the secret spot and I think if you value privacy (we do) it’s the best spot of the lot. Rory’s has an incredible view (the photos don’t do it justice) but it you are a lot closer to others than some of the other spots. Elizabeth came to say hello, was lovely and then she let us enjoy our time (very prompt to respond to messages). The creek isn’t very deep but great for a cool off and the waterfall is worth a walk if your willing for a bit of a wild walk (not much of a track but that’s part of the adventure). Only other call outs worth knowing: - it’s a lot cooler than you would expect in the evenings. - No fishing in the creek. - There are a few leaches as mentioned but they’re fine (this is rough camping in the country side). There are also black cockatoo’s, wallabies and all sorts of beautiful wildlife. - It’s really close to Stanthorpe and all the foodie stuff that is there. - there are bike tracks but they aren’t rideable (there are many many logs across the track and very very high grass). I can see that if it was maintained it would be really fun (enduro style MTB tracks).

Stonepine Ridge is a beautiful property in stunning granite country. The sites are large and varied and offer long views or secluded bush settings. Access and navigation was straightforward (respecting farm gates) and the drive in on Mount Lindsay Road from the south was beautiful. Liz was a great host and very responsive. Excellent quality fire wood is good value, but bring a decent axe to break it down for open fire use. Highly recommended.

We loved our weekend at Stonepine Ridge! A beautiful property with plenty of space in each camp area. You were well secluded from other campers. A fantastic spot to explore many of the close by bish walk/hikes etc. With tenterfield and stanthorpe close by. Elizabeth was a great host!
