We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights here. Camped up near the flowing creek. Nice flat grassed area (site 3). No other campers. Went for a couple of morning walks following the graded tracks on the property which were up hill and down dale. Met Richard (Host) who was very interesting to talk to about the property, its history, his family connection and the challenges of running such a property. Great spot!

We had an incredible 2-night stay at Riverbend in Sandy Hill! If you are looking for a true off grid escape into nature, this is it.
The property is a beautiful working farm with kilometers of river frontage along the Cataract River. We set up our RTT on a flat grassy area at site 2, and spent our time relaxing, wandering around the property and sitting around the fire at night. The river was a bit too cold for swimming at this time of year but would be perfect in warmer weather.
There are plenty of well-maintained tracks for bushwalking and mountain biking, and we saw plenty of local wildlife.
Richard is a great host and offers a clean and tidy, well maintained hipcamp that is easily accessible. It’s a great base for exploring the historic gold mining area of Sandy Hill or the nearby towns of Tenterfield and Stanthorpe.
We’d definitely book again and highly recommend Riverbend RV Camping for your next total off grid experience. 🏕️🔥😀

Beautiful spot. Richard was great so easy to talk to and very friendly. Our spot on the cataract river was lovely flat and spacious plenty of room for us to and couldn’t even see other campers. We had a very enjoyable few days definitely recommend 👍

Riverbend is a great spot to stop and chill out for a few days. Different site shapes and sizes, and the site we were on had plenty of room for multiple big rigs, although it was just is on there with our 21ft 6in van, and was mostly flat. Quiet, lots of bird life flying around, horses wandering through. Just serene..... most of the time. It is a working farm, so you'll hear a motorbike occasionally, along with a pump down on the river, but generally really peaceful.
Lots of room to go walking if you feel like moving a bit, camp fires are allowed as long as there's no fire ban. It's fairly dry right now (Easter) and the River is quite low, but we could still have a fire with those nice cool nights we had.
Richard is a great host. He came to say G'day when we first got there and is happy for you to contact him in need, otherwise he pretty much leaves you to your serenity.
Would recommend this reasonably priced spot for a stop over.

Easy access from the main road, Riverbend was a great spot for our little family to get away to for a couple of days. We stayed on Site 5 which was off by itself, right on the bank of the creek with only a couple of horses as neighbours. The small creek was enough for our kids to paddle and splash around in happily. Richard was a super friendly host and provided easy, clear instructions on getting to camp as well as some local drives and sightseeing. Would definitely recommend as a great campsite nice and close to Tenterfield.

Absolutely fantastic place. We stayed at camp-site 4......recommended by Richard.
And it was so good, nobody else on site but to be fair its probably only a one setup site. Exactly how we like it.
Met Richard and he showed us to the site and then privacy all weekend.

Highly recommend this location very quiet and peaceful, easy levelling. Didn’t even need to unhook the car so very happy with site 3 where we were fantastic spot highly recommend. Dog loved his paddle in the creek.

A beautiful quiet campground nearby the running river - stunning scenery & to be greeted by passing cows & calves daily was great. Highly recommend.
Hosts were very nice & to buy any extras (like meat, firewood) was a bonus!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The site was very easy to find with instructions from Richard. Each site is HUGE and clearly marked. They are so well spaced out it feels as though you are camping alone.
Best of all this location is beautifully peaceful and ideally located for exploring the towns and natural parks of the region.

We were on the road for 2 weeks in and around NSW using Hipcamp wherever we could and this was our number one spot. Loved it. Quiet, private, big, direct creek access, shady spots and fabulous fire - what more could you ask for?! thanks for hosting us - we'll definitely be back!

An absolutely awesome spot at Riverbend. Easy to find, great sites all large and spaced out from neighbours., clean and tidy, well maintained. The river was sensational to have dip in each day. Pet friendly and our dogs loved it. Cows and horses visited each day much to their delight. Richard was an exceptional host along with his family. Nothing was a problem, good conversation and local knowledge made for great conversation usually accompanied with a wood delivery for the fire pit. We spent a week, didn’t really want to leave just a beautiful place on this planet. We will return very soon.

So beautiful and quiet, other than the creek bubbling and the cows mooing that is.
Fabulous spot to just chill and not worry about the world for a while.
Originally booked for 2 nights but extended to 4 because I was so settled.
Water to sit and have a beer in, countryside to admire and a great flat spacious site.
I’ll be back!

We were in camp 6.
Lovely peace and quiet. Cool river to swim in.. it was about 50cm deep that was good too.
Plenty of fire wood nearby too.
Site was in full sun until 11.00 or 12pm. Then lots of shade throughout the afternoon. Although you could walk along the creek to find shade with your chair. Would easily come back and stay too. Good spot for longer stays as well.

Riverbend was amazing!!! It was so peaceful you could hear your own thoughts. The creek was crystal clear and plenty of shaded areas as-well as sunny areas. Amazing waking up to farm animals😊 Richard was super accomodating and superb host. we will definitely be back to stay🤠

River Bend Hipcamp was an absolute gem. Falling asleep each night to the soothing sound of the river was pure bliss. The birdlife was stunning, especially the little blue wrens flitting about — a real highlight for nature lovers.
The whole stay left us feeling incredibly tranquil and relaxed; it was exactly the reset we both needed. Our host, Richard, was so accommodating and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
With only a short drive to both Tenterfield and Stanthorpe, the location is perfect — peaceful and secluded, yet close to town when needed. We will definitely be back.

We had a good time. Huge sites, and very level for the van. We went for a drive in the 4wd. Boys really enjoyed getting in the car without having to be strapped in. Horses came and said hello was a nice touch.

Beautiful campground on the Cataract river. I stayed at site 1 which was under some shady pine trees overlooking the river. Nice and quiet just the sounds of the river and the birds (lots of fairywrens). Would stay again!

We loved our stay for 2 days! I could have stayed longer, however had to go back to work! The sandy clear water was beautiful, the sites are large and private. Perfect place for a refreshing swim. Richard the host popped down to say Hi and is a really nice guy! We will be back that’s for sure 🙌

This place is lovely and peaceful with campsites spread out so you wouldn't know anyone else is there.
The kids had fun swimming in the river and running around especially when the horses came to say hello.
I would recommend this place to my mates to stay at.

Right by the river - just us and the cows! Pity we had 24 hours of 50km wind gusts keeping us inside until we had to leave. We will be back!!
