The cottage is situated directly across the road from the river and boasts a private beach and grassed area. There is amazing fishing as well. Sunsets are the feature here with incredible views across to the hinterland. Watch Kangaroos, dolphins, eagles, pelicans and a ton of fish! We also have horses should you be interested in some 'equine experiences' (ground work only). You will forever remember your stay at River and Sky Cottage!

Our focus is to provide a quiet family-friendly venue. Campers can enjoy relaxing around their campfire in the bush, with firepits available at each site. This is combined with the luxury of flushing toilets and hot, gas-heated showers.
To make the most of our peace and tranquillity, campsites are scattered in secluded areas throughout the property. There are 4 main camping areas, The Forest Camp, The Creek Camp, The Mountain Camp and The Overflow, each offering something different. We have smaller sites, suitable for a couple, a family or a few friends through to larger sites for groups and all sites have been levelled for a comfortable stay.
We cater for all forms of camping including tents, camper trailers and caravans. The campground is accessible by 2WD and 4WD vehicles and firewood, ice and drinking water is available from our office.
We are only a 30 minute drive to many local attractions located around Stanthorpe and Killarney.

The lagoon at the campground is over 10 acres of water, with native forest on three sides. It is great for canoeing or bushwalking and our bird life is spectacular.

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat
One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking.,
Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. But if your dog is not friendly or is likely to venture into someone else camping area, than will have to be on a leash.
If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them.
One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities.
Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m high waterfall, nature at it's best. In the vicinity you have the Clarence river at Paddy's Flat Road and Hootons Road within minutes drive from the property.
The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road.
Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away.
Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km.
Once a working cattle property, in 1993 was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise.
Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property.
The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres property of bush, heavily timbered with straight eucalyptus, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost).
The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy.
I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food.
I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds.
If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance.
We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).

Glendaryn, our property, is located 30 kms west of Kyogle and 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Featuring 35 acres consisting mainly of creek flats on the banks of Iron Pot Creek, a permanent creek which runs from nearby Toonumbar dam, this place is perfect to pitch a tent.
The dam is only 2 km away and has a boat ramp. Iron Pot provides scenic camping spots with fishing (bass and cat fish), swimming, hiking, kayaking and there are bush roads nearby suitable for horse riding.
Fresh drinking water and a pit toilet is available at the shed .
Bring your horse and put up a yard or safe yards are available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are controlled and don’t chase our horses and the local wild life.
There are a variety of camping sites near the creek and also one on the hill overlooking the flats. Creek side spots are dry weather only as the flat can become boggy or you can walk in around 200 metres from road. The property is 2WD accessible.

We are on a 180 acre cattle farm situated along a running creek with swimming holes. Surrounded by pristine pine trees and natives. We are roughly 15 minutes from all 3 surrounding towns Kyogle, Casino and Lismore. We are also only an hour away from the beach for any day trips planned.
Great spot to stop for the night on your trip or stay for a weekend and take in the peace and quiet. We are easy to pull into and can cater for all size vans. Roads are all freshly gravelled and well maintained to cater for 2wd access also.
Toilet and Water provided but respect us by taking your own rubbish with you.
Beautiful little stream with rapids and rock holes to keep yourself cool in summer.
More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you.
No 4wding is permitted on the farm.
Animal feeding is an activity we provide with food available to buy for the animals.
Firewood is also available to purchase on arrival

We are professional musicians and love to meeting people. Elphie used to own the iconic Nimbin Rox backpacker hostel, and although Soulhaven is only in its infancy, it still has a relaxed atmosphere.
Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops.
Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle.
This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest.
Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We love animals, but one of the reasons we left suburbia was to get away from barking dogs. If your dog barks at night, or is not we’ll socialised, you’re best to leave pooch at home!
Our place is family friendly and we ask that you keep music and noise to a minimum after 10pm.

We absolutely loved our stay at Gracemere Farmstead.
Stephen made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Having the whole paddock to ourselves was a treat , and the peacefulness really stood out.
The morning farm tour was a highlight, watching the feeding and learning more about organic farming added a lot to the experience. We would recommend this Hipcamp to anyone 😊

This is our third weekend back at Shanti’s for the ranch weekend! As always, Shanti opened her home and her heart to us, and we were blessed with her gorgeous mother staying for the weekend too!
Love all the horses, and love watching Shanti do her magic with them.. swimming the horses in the river was a highlight.. just so much fun!
We will keep coming back that’s for sure!

Another fabulous stay at a beautiful private location. Stunning scenery and wildlife. No better place to escape and unplug. Our dogs loved the freedom of exploring and swimming and were exhausted every afternoon.. Highly recommended!

we loved staying at clarence river wilderness lodge for my husband’s birthday weekend!
the host was so lovely and so helpful.
we stayed at silky oak campsite it was a great spot, so spacious, great view and close enough to toilet shed,shower,and kitchen area.
loved they have canoes and kayaks for water activities. we’ll definitely coming back here again soon!

This spot was exactly as people have been describing. A secluded space surrounded by beautiful native wildlife. Enough space for a group of 4 and accessible by any car. Daniel was clear and supportive. Definitely worth checking out!

Lovely place. It was Easter weekend and busy. The vibe was family and kids and 4x4s. So if the sound of other people having that kind of fun bothers you, avoud the busy times. I camped at the white eagle camp, which has no facilities but it is a beautiful, tranquil setting. The main site has ablution and other facilities. Frank was very helpful and friendly. No frills camping. Recommended.

Our weekend away at Soulhaven was magical! After seeing the lovely country in the lead up to the venue we were greeted by Elphie and a few cute pups. For open camping we had a few choices (open field with breathtaking views or tree enveloped sanctuary), and once shown around we settled into our own little tree canopy slice of heaven. There was both drop toilet portaloos or a central single toilet block with shower (and some hot water!). The owners offered us some firewood and we sat under the stars roasting marshmallows and relaxing away without the bother of phone reception allowing us the unchained freedom of camping life. There were a host of frogs, ducks and birds that soundtracked our sleep. I would 100% be back again to enjoy the tranquillity of their delightful property.

This was our first time camping at a 4wd park.
Camp ground were great, lots of areas to choose from - from secluded areas totally offgrid to bustling areas full of families next to one another. We chose a campsite that didn't have anyone else there, but it was a short walk to the toilet block & next camp area full of people.
We had a great time trying out the 4wd tracks!
Camp showers and toilets were very well maintained.
Frank & Lynne were great to meet - really wonderful people and up for a chat. They were helpful with all of our questions.
Looking forward to coming back one day after some rain and hopefully seeing the waterfalls flowing!

I would highly recommend camping at Brent's. He obviously cares about sustainability. He's very friendly and checks in that all is well. His kids are very cute and we only saw them once or twice. We had a lot of space and when others left we virtually had the whole place to ourselves. It is very peaceful and relaxing. We had a camp fire going two nights and had roasted potatoes. The night sky is incredible. Thanks Brent for your beautiful property.
