We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River. These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map. The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres. The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek). The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail. The eastern section of Washpool stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located. The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream. Interestingly when the Chinese gold miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau. Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags. Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests. The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren. We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks. The valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing, or just kicking back relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing, or being amazed at the mirror like images on the waters surface on a still day or the flickering light of a campfire at night and the stars above.

The Timbarra or Rocky River is an area of great beauty southeast of Tenterfield with soaring mountains cradling the river flats and undulating hills below and is a renowned cattle breeding region. The Petrie family have been in Tenterfield since 1860 and have owned properties in the valley for over 100 years. Tim’s great-grandfather was known as Rocky Jack because of his extensive holdings. Cattle are still walked up to the Timbarra Plateau property from the river properties ‘Man From Snowy River’ style. The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River. These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map. The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres. The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek). The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail. The eastern section of Washpool stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located. The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream. Interestingly when the Chinese gold miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau. Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags. Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests. The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren. We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks. The valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing, or just kicking back relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing, or being amazed at the mirror like images on the waters surface on a still day or the flickering light of a campfire at night and the stars above.

Mindoo is an incredible property and the owners have done a fantastic job in developing it. It is clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. The camping sites are mostly positioned along the river and there is substantial privacy between each. It is a peaceful location with plenty of options to swim and explore. The rock pools are incredible. The facilities are well maintained and Prue was very friendly and checked in to make sure we were settled. Beautiful doggos 😊 We had an issue that was immediately troubleshooted by Prue which we appreciated. Overall a peaceful location, out of the way for a true digital detox getaway.

Beautiful camo spot! We were welcomed by Ben who was super friendly and helpful! On arrival we told us our camping spot wasn’t next to the river and asked if we wanted to change, which u thought was very nice to offer. Toilet and kitchen areas were well equipped, spotless and in very good condition. The view of the lake was spectacular, as was the little walk to the water fall where you can see streams and rock pools. It was everything we wanted in a campsite! Would definitely go back. Wow, words can not do justice the amazing time we had at the Ranch! The river views, the hospitality, the tranquility & the fire baths were just magical. Shanti has truly created a slice of heaven out there. For the icing on the cake, make sure to book the horse trek + swim.. i’ve done many treks in my life and this was the best. Plenty of trotting and cantering through stunning scenery, finished by a swim with the horses. Shanti’s way with horses is so special to witness, you can tell they love her as much as she loves them. We will be back, with friends in tow.

We loved camping at Gleneden! Rohan and his wife were very welcoming, invited us to watch the cows being milked, helped collect eggs from the chickens and saw the pig and geese getting fed. Our campsite was located right next to their two rams so our toddler woke up every morning shouting SHEEP. The creek was also great for the kids for scrambling on the rocks and playing. Would definitely go back again.

Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres property of bush, heavily timbered with straight eucalyptus, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost). The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy. I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food. I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds. If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance. We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).

The land is nearly 200 Ha in the western foothills of the Dividing Range, with the usually-flowing North Branch Creek being a green haven supporting lots of wildlife. It also includes the secluded back valley of Hann Creek to which you can walk, cycle or ride, with many tracks of lengths up to 3 km. The land is mostly open forest land with some cleared areas from its dairy-farming history, and many gullies with thicker vegetation. The property is mostly now dedicated to nature conservation and the recovery of its more natural state. It is a Nature Refuge under Qld legislation with special emphasis on recognising that the land is Githabul country, honouring local Githabul people now, sharing it with them and others, plus preserving species of plants and animals with known relevance to their former lifestyles. The name Nyalar Mirungan-ah means 'Old Women's Tears' in Githabul, and recognises that they cry because the land was taken from them and because it has not been looked after well by European people. We are now trying to care for it well, and to allow the original ecosystems to return, by lighter grazing, soil recovery and using traditional Aboriginal burning knowledge. And we welcome dogs as long as they don't disturb our wildlife. Shandy, our own dog, is very welcoming to guests and might drop in to your camp for a visit.

Welcome to Aloomba Lavender Farm. We offer bush camping with powered and unpowered sites. This means you will not be placed very close to other vans unless you are friends and choose to be together. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

THIS SITE IS FULLY BOOKED FOR 2025 Nestled between the Pub and the start line on the western side of the road, this small block offers pole position for the pub and start line. Limited places available. No power. Portable amenities provided. If this site is booked - book on Old MacDonald's Farm (Sprints Week), under the sites 'In The Pitts - on the start line'. Hipcamps will only let me book one site on this page, but there are several available. Message me for more details or to check availablity. Price is $240 for 2 nights, and includes camping from Wednesday to Monday regardless of how long you stay. Must be checked in Friday night because the road will be closed Saturday and Sunday until race finished. When booking – only book Friday and Saturday night, but you are welcome to arrive from Wednesday on. Price does not include ticket entry to the Sprints. Tickets are available at the Sprints merchandise tents and entry points at Warwick Street near the RSL and MacIntyre Street at the corner store end.

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking, since the old gold mining town "Lunatics" was not far away from us. Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Camping site is located in 41 acres of natural bush land, the perfect get away for nature lovers, hikers, horse riders and bird watchers. There is a dam and a forested area studded with granite boulders. The property is in an an elevated spot, it has lovely views and great places to camp and there's a lovely yielding atmosphere of peace and tranquility. There are accessible walking trails through the property with several areas of slightly sloping ground. We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general. Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there. The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150. Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW! There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals. 13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out! No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds. On walks around the property you can spot various delicate purple, white, yellow and rust coloured flowers.

I have 8 sites at the moment each one is in a open bushland setting with lovely views, no site is within 100 meters of another and each one has a different view with lots of privacy, and all Dog and Kid friendly, shallow water, and deep water for swimming or kayaking , creeks, animals to feed and heaps of room to run and play. Adult friendly, huge sites for big groups and plenty of space, great swimming and lots of things to here and in the surrounding areas. Some sites are more suited to Caravans as the access is better and some are better suited to campers / 4WD but all can be accessed with a regular car. We have NO road frontage so sites are private, quiet and safe and only 3ks off the New England Highway. All campers MUST bring their own Chemical toilet and shower facilities. A small rest room and shower is available in case of emergency only I run a working farm raising Sheep and Lambs, Chickens, Ducks, Horses, Donkeys, Vegies, Preserves and Jams. Farm produce is available on request and availability, eg Free range eggs , farm raised Lamb, locally sourced Bacon for the BBQ , and seasonal vegetables, jams and chutneys. Thanks to the Beautiful rain we have had recently, our large dam is full, providing a wonderful spot for swimming, paddling or just splashing about, the Dam has long sloping access so is great for families and dogs, PLEASE NOTE The Google Maps photo is way out of date, our Dam is full. For those who may be into Waterskiing or Fishing Leslie Dam is a 10 min drive away and offers fishing and water sports then come back to your quiet camp away from the crowds. We are 20 min South of Warwick, We are only 30 min from the Stanthorpe Wineries, Breweries fresh fruit and Vege, Cheese factory to name a few things to do. A little further along you will find Girraween National Park renowned for amazing walks. Warwick Hosts the Biggest and Best Campdraft and Rodeo on the last full week of October (Covid permitting) as well as the quirky Jumpers and Jazz festival in July. Steam Train Journeys , half or full days, We have an amazing motor sport venue which holds meet every weekend, cars bikes, vintage, minis, Porsche's, you name it they race it every weekend. As well as many Equestrian Events, you can spend the day out exploring and then you can come back to your beautiful campsite, that is if you have not decided to stay relaxing and swimming for the day in the quiet watching the sheep and horses pass bye to then watch the Sunset and wildlife then look at the amazing night sky.
