Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. Your initial view of the property coming over a Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. However, 600m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge, Hart Hill exposes a lovely undulating fold baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs Thanes Creek. Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is based west of the property in a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek and an old windmill for a backdrop. The properties history is colourful. In 1869 the area was a hub for gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky. Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, and if you dug in some of the rock heaps you might get a shock when you uncovered more than gold. Visitors can enjoy campfires, fossicking, including swimming, kayaking, fishing and more dependant on seasonal changes to the creek. Amenities include flushing toilets and hot showers. Other inclusions are waste and recycle bins, and firepits. Firewood, ice, starlink, pan hire, and miscellaneous items are available for sale or hire.

Wind Break

Wind Break is on a slight rise on the creek, this site offers some solace when the westerly winds are blowing. It is one of the more isolated sites, which is good if you want to keep to yourselves, or have dogs that you want to keep close, away from other dogs and people. It is one of the closes sites to the amenities.

The Peninsula

The Peninsula is my personal favourite; right at the peninsula of the property, near the windmill, with a lovely big colourful gum. This area is always green, and has two access tracks to the creek, one suitable for gold panning, the other for fishing, swimming, or kayaking.

Jane and partner were very friendly, easy going and accommodating. This place has great facilities that were easily accessible and clean. Even though we were in a cul-de-sac shaped area close to a dozen other campers, it was peaceful, and as though they weren't even there. They seem to attract other friendly campers to their sites who are repeat customers. Jane offers to sell ice, firewood, soft drinks, and even kites! This and the amenities really made this property stand out to us. We enjoyed the visit from the sheep, as well as their dogs, Aunty Jack and Ned. I would highly recommend this campsite and we will be back.

Great hosts. Very friendly and helped in every way they could. Grounds weren't quite up to the pictures however they haven't had rain for a long time so allowances have to be made. Very quiet location. Minimal road traffic nearby. All up a very enjoyable weekend

Great site and great owners! Facilities are well kept. Perfect spot for a stress free getaway. A very fun spot to fossick/detect. The creek is running dry, hoping for a good wet season for the owners 🙏

The camp is located in the middle of the Warwick goldfields and is within reasonable distance of most of the General Prospecting Areas. It has good open and large camping spaces and very good facilities and including showers, toilets and fire wood for purchase. Only found a couple of micro gold specs in the creek but will be back to Thanes Creek in the future for more. Thanks Jane for your hospitality

I had booked the windbreak site which had been taken when I got there but still found a lovely spot. Nice quiet campsite with good amenities. Lovely hosts 😊 could hear a koala bellowing across the creek at night and saw a Pacific Baza in the morning. Had a great time with my dog.

Camped at wind break, the owners were very accompanied thank to you Jane. Toilets were clean daily. Caught a big yellow perch in the creek. Swim able creek need to track down a steep hill but had it to ourselves which was nice. The camps are alittle close but neighbours where nice. Will recommend 👍

The camp grounds are very well maintained. Showers were kept very clean. Jane and Luke were very welcoming and helpful and could not do enough to assist their guests. There was a nice amount of space between individual sites allowing for more privacy. There is easy access to the water for fishing or swimming We will definitely return.

The Causeway
Our first stay at Hart Hill and we were very impressed with this beautiful bush camp 😀 We were welcomed by Jane on arrival then down the little hill to an open bush camp with sites spaced out all with fire pits, most are along the side of the creek.We stayed at windbreak and only a short walk to the amenities shower/toilet that were kept very clean. The magic happens at night when clear you will get a million star veiw. A perfect place to site by the fire and take in nature at its best. Jane was one of the best hosts we have ever had staying at hipcsmps and she takes so much pride in making her property a wonderful experience for you. This will be a regular for us 😀 can't wait to come back.

This is a beautiful camp site. We can't wait to go again. Jane was so friendly and cheerful and her two dogs, T-Rex and Jack. Our son had a blast. Everything was perfect. So much playground for the kids to run around. This is definitely a 5Star ⭐

What a wonderful few days away, a very peaceful, beautiful location. The campsite was a nice flat open grassed area for setting up our camper. Jane was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Her two dogs were also very welcoming greeting us on arrival. Facilities were very clean. Firewood & ice available onsite if needed. Plenty to do, Thaines Creek runs around the camp area for gold panning, swimming, fishing etc. With more fossicking areas just a short drive. Definitely one of the best campsites we have stayed at. Thankyou Jane 😊

Had an amazing weekend at Hart Hill. Jane made us feel so welcomed and Scott was very helpful for us beginning out on our prospecting journey. The facilities were amazing, best I've seen in a long time. Great firepits and great view of the milkyway. We were blessed with great weather too. Highly recommended. We will be back again soon. Thanks heaps Jane.

We had a lovely relaxing weekend away at Hart Hill camping! Such a peaceful and beautiful area to get away from it all. The highlight was definitely the resident dogs T-Rex and Jack who showed us to our campsite and kept us company throughout our stay. Thanks for having us!

excellent people excellent campsite. Very calming with a beautiful sunset over the big hill. showers and bathrooms are clean and easy (cold water, but maybe i just didn’t have it setup correctly as i was worried about wasting water). great grassy area, but be aware when walking dog of prickly pears! nice and close to warwick town for a quick trip in for a coffee if needed can’t wait to go back.

This is one of the true treasures. It is a beautiful property with incredible amenities. Jane and Mark were so welcoming and accommodating. Our little dog Dot loved the space and playing the T-Rex and Jack (and Ash when he came for his afternoon visit). We will absolutely be back to join you guys for another afternoon drink 🍻

The amenities block was exceptionally clean & tidy. Mark & Jane were fantastic hosts & it was great to be able to feed their little lambs when Jane had to do a run into town. Where we had our van was great, only a short walk to the amenities block & the only noise were the birds, so relaxing. They supply a firepit & you can buy firewood from them or bring your own. All in all we would definitely recommend a stay here & we will most definitely come back. We actually have many friends in common with Jane, so it was great to have a chat & talk about the people that we have in common. Definitely very friendly & make you feel at home. Greg & Lee

Unfortunately, due to a faulty hired caravan we were unable to stay but the host was very sympathetic to our situation and offered a full refund even though we had to cancel on the first day of our stay. Will certainly book them in in the near future.

Had an incredible time at this property, the grounds are extremely well maintained. Jane and mark are both awesome people to talk to and the dogs are the greatest company. If this camp is on your list of spots to try, put it at the top!! Thank you guys, we WILL be back.

Absolutely loved our 3 nights camped on The Peninsula, the grass underfoot is amazing and with easy access to Thanes Creek in all directions for fossicking, fishing or just to stroll around and explore, or to sit back around the fire and just enjoy the serenity....and enjoy visits from the owners very friendly dogs who love a pat as much as we loved their visits. The entire campground is extremely well maintained with very nice amenities a short walk away, and the host's are very friendly and welcoming to their property for all to enjoy. Thankyou so very much. Can not wait to go back to Hart Hill Camping.
