We absolutely loved our time at Yarran! The most beautiful countryside with the kindest host. Option for showers and loo. We had a beautiful camp fire and watched a storm roll in alongside the kangaroos, emus and sheep. It was quiet and with such a big property it was also private. We can’t wait to come back here!

We had a great time camping here, really felt secluded and the stars were beautiful
We even saw emus which was a first for us, thanks for having us we will definitely be back:)

Sonya was a great host, she was friendly and very welcoming. She took time to show us to several sites on her property :)
Unfortunately, what we were expecting from the camp listing was not exactly what we found on site. There are several photos on the listing showing nice water holes and even quite a large lake/dam. It turns out those that we could access were on adjoining properties and so we couldnt get to them without crossing fences and other paddocks (not great with infants).
There may have been other sites with water available however these were off limits at the time we stayed as there was hunters using the property also. That was no issue to us and Sonya communicated that to us in advance.
All in all it was a nice location, and one that we would return to if we had a large group that did not want to swim/ cool off in fresh water; however it was a bit of a let down for us without access to areas with water as we expected from the photos. I have uploaded a drone shot to show how far the closest water was to our site in the end. It was in a neighboring property and as such we didn't feel comfortable crossing into that land without permission.

Awesome slice of the country, would absolutely go again.Sonja was a great host and showed us around the different camp sites and around the property.
No power available but your can run a generator, very limited water but there is a toilet and shower at the house for use
We camp near the wool shed which was great outlook and got to look into a working woodshed
Can have a camp fire( subject to fire restrictions) and plenty of wood laying around to collect
Small creeks and dams if your that way inclined for a dip

Our trip to “The Reserve” on Sonja’s property was peaceful and relaxing. Just what was needed after a long busy year. Directions to the property were easy to follow and Sonja was very friendly and welcoming. The cattle came to visit in the morning and it was lovely to see and hear so much wildlife.

Great place to get away from it all and enjoy some time in the bush. Kids loved exploring the creek and seeing the wildlife. ‘The reserve’ camp is quite a distance from the shower block but we just drove up there when needed

This place is simply amazing! We got to witness the sheep being rounded up and have sneak peak of the shearing shed and how the wool is graded. The tracks around the property made it even more of an adventure. Most of all, Sonja's and Jim's hospitality was great. Made us feel welcome and checked in on us regularly. Thank you guys.

Camped by a small lake and surrounded by a wattle forrest. Bird life everywhere and the occasional kangaroo and emu in the distance. No nearby towns so the Milky Way is glorious at night.
It’s just so perfect.

The area was so relaxing and full of wildlife- we loves the friendly dogs and pet sheep. Called us an hour away with friendly chats, rocked up to a beautiful landscape and free will to explore the tracks. Camped with a besser block firepit next to some water with the Milky way peeping it's way through on the second night we stayed. Would recommend the campsite on the back right. 10/10 will go again we were organising it on our way out.

Yarran has the quintessential landscape of the Goondiwindi Region with open, grassy fields, rolling hills and scattered creeks. This was my second visit. Both times, Sonia and her family have been warm and welcoming with nothing too much trouble for them. It's essentially camp anywhere with some recommendations of the property highlights. The first time I chose the side of a hill near the shearing shed, looking east over the plain. This was more out of convenience for a quick overnight visit to get some star shots. This time I stayed beyond the house right beside a small dam/pond. The site was just perfect. Sheltered and flat with the water right there. Would be very easy to spend days just in this one place. Yarran is remote enough that the night sky doesn't get much better. This is my new go-to spot.

Great spot. Lot's of open space to explore and pick a camp site. The hosts, were very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend.
Only thing to note, would be that there aren't many spots close enough to walk to the toilet/shower.

Nice private campsite on the reserve, with a classic bush campfire. Small creek to explore next to the campsite.. Kids saw emu's, goanna, kangaroos, wedgetails and of course sheep and cattle. Sonja and Jim have a couple of very friendly sheep up at the main property who will come in for a pat.. We had a great time.
