This beautiful 200-acre property is the perfect place to get away from it all. We have a hilltop area where you can view the sunrise from the east and the sunset in the west, with absolutely no light pollution. On a clear night, the galaxy is astounding to view. The property has multiple areas of creek frontage with both kid and adult-friendly swimming areas. There is a good area for using a small kayak (depending on the creek levels) or floating along on an inner tube, and beautiful views and wildlife abound. You may even get a visit from our beautiful king parrots. You can also enjoy bushwalking, birdwatching, and fishing, and there are even deer on the property, but they’re rarely seen. If you’re keen, you can take your 4WD to the end of Emu Creek Road, where you can start your trek up to the old plane wreck. Bushwalking to the Steamers (for the very experienced) can be accessed at the end of Emu Creek Road. We are a working cattle farm and have around 40 head of cattle.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to put up camp then this one is for you. You will be 25 min to Killarney if you want to explore the cafes or have a country cooked pub meal.  Go a little further to explore Queen Mary Falls or to do some four-wheel driving through the multiple Condamine river crossings. Alternatively, you can drive the other direction into Warwick for shopping or maybe to attend one of the great events that Warwick hosts throughout the year. You will need to cross two small creek crossings before getting to your peaceful campground. Generally the level of the creek crossing is less than 20 cm or so but if there has been rain it can be a lot higher.  *Please note that if there is a lot of rain, the site may not be accessible.  Pitch your tent or park your van wherever you want in this area. You will be alongside the creek and if you wander a bit further up you will find some nice spots to swim or wade. There is a small covered area for your use and a fire pit ready for you to sit around. This is a great area for groups of campers. If you are looking to book one site only we will not book anyone else into the site, so it will be all yours! Alternatively you can bring all your friends.  Either way, you will not be sharing with others. Bring yourself and your friends and get ready to chill! *Please note that this site is just off the dirt road. It does have cars coming past at times as it is the only road to other properties and also up to bushwalking trails. We would estimate there could be 5 cars that pass on some days and in busy periods there might be 10 or 20 pass. This camp site does have a property with a shed next to it and sometimes people stay there. We just want you to be aware that this is not total seclusion (it's still a beautiful spot though!)

Hilltop hood is located at the high point of the property. It is accessible with a 4-wheel drive. This is best for campers with tents and off-road campers. Feel free to explore this part of the property. There is lots of open space for the kids to run around in this area, and you will have amazing views of the stars at night. You may even stubble across our little rainforest area. We have recently added a covered area to this site.

It was lovely to finally meet Kev and Shelly this time on our stay at Kimblehurst. They were being considerate of our privacy but I managed to get a hot tip on the water hole close by. The new shelter they put up on Hilltop is perfect insurance when you don't feel like setting up a tarp. We find the spot great to watch the afternoon disappear. So much life. The late October evening's conditions after a wee storm was close to perfect by the creek. Trackies, pullover and thongs. No mozzies. New moon. As usual, we took some hours out of the day to get up and down the challenging but spectacular Steamers Track. Catch you again soon enough.

Hilltop Hood
Visited Kev and Shelley’s hilltop site of this past weekend and it was beautiful, an awesome site with provided shelter and great views both sides overlooking the ridges. Awesome hosts with great communication, checked in to make sure we were doing alright and provided suggestions on where to go for the day. Highly recommend anyone to stay at this site 10/10 would love to go back again

The campsite is absolutely gorgeous with heaps to explore down the road. Well kept campsite with lots of room to spread out. There is a beautiful creek just walking distance down from the camp which is lovely for a quick dip

Great place, far enough off the road and minimal traffic. Very scenic outlook surrounded by mountains, lovely drive to the camp site with a couple of easy river crossings.

Had a great stay at Emu Vale, Kev & Shelly are absolutely lovely hosts. Camp site was well maintained, access to a creek, lots of space to set up camp. Views were amazing and place was quiet. The creek crossing was easy to go through with 4x4 and even when creek had risen due to rain we were still able to get through. Kev & Shelly even checked in on us to let us know about the creek being a bit high. Camp was easy to find from directions given. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely beautiful location. The campgrounds are perfectly maintained. Shelly was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. So grateful that we can also have our dogs off leash as the campsites are so private.

Great private camp spot for self sufficient campers. The landscape is beautiful and Kev and Shelley even set up our fire pit with a mini tee pee of kindling to make the first night fire a breeze! Definitely will be back.

We were a bit disappointed, we have filled in all the details on the hipcamp registration for a site. That is caravan and its size. We booked the hilltop site for the stars and the views. When we got there, there is no way a caravan will ever make it to the top. Luckily we were able to have a creek side site out was fantastic.

Very peaceful and tranquil campsite with great views of surrounding mountains. Great, flat area with lots of shade, well maintained grassy site. Crystal clear creek, great for swimming with stone steps down embankment. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

The pump house camp spot is a lovely grassy flat area with more than enough shade for our needs. We were far enough back from the road that I didn't need to worry about my little dog. Creek access could be better from the campsite, but we just went down to the nearest causeway (there are plenty of them) and we had easy access to crystal clear water. Definitely coming back soon.

Thank you Shelly & Kev for letting us stay on your beautiful property, We stayed on the Hilltop with awesome 360 Degree uninterrupted views. We enjoyed watching Eagles soaring in the valley to spectacular stars gazing at night. Going for a swim in the creek crossing was awesome. We enjoyed seeing your cattle and watching you mustering them down the hilltop, it was exactly the relaxing experience we were looking for. Thank you. The drive up the hilltop was easy with our 4wd Pajero and Camper. We highly recommend a staying here. 😊 We will be back again soon for another stay 👍

Thank you to our hosts Kev and Shelley. Had a wonderful, relaxing time out in nature. Thank you, Kev, for going above and beyond for escorting us over the creek crossings and directing us to the more secluded part of the paddock, which was closer to the creek, albeit rocky! Had a lovely couple of nights sitting around the fire listening to the evening chorus! Our two dogs loved the fact that they could take themselves for a daily swim in the creek.

We had a fantastic stay at BlackBerry Creek and absolutely fell in love with the area! The location, Kimblehurst, is a stunning spot in Emu Vale, with breathtaking views of cliffs and rolling hills. We really enjoyed exploring the Southern Downs region—it’s such a beautiful, peaceful area. The directions to the site were spot-on, though a quick tip—screenshot them as there’s no reception out there! Kev greeted us as we arrived and made sure we felt right at home. The wooden shelter on the site was a real bonus, offering extra outdoor space to escape the heat and occasional rain. One of the highlights was the rocky swimming hole, which was surprisingly warm and the perfect place to unwind with a cold drink after a day of exploring. My hubby even added his personal touch by building some rock stairs to help with the steep access to the hole, and it definitely made a difference for me! Our dogs loved the space to roam, and it was so refreshing to disconnect from the world. Kev had also thoughtfully built us a fire to light up, which was such a welcoming gesture after a long drive. We could just sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning views without any stress. The area is full of great things to do—we didn’t manage the walk up to the plane due to the heat (the pups were too tired), but we had a blast driving the many tracks and exploring the no-through roads. BlackBerry Creek is definitely one to add to your list if you're looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning scenery!

Such a wonderful piece of land and time with no phone service to get away from all the busyness of life. Had the beat week with my family, kids loved the water being so close and they used their kayaks everyday. Not far to go to get service and we will definitely coming back. Hosts were lovely.

A premium slice of earth with 360 degree views and not a soul in sight. Kev and Shelley were most welcoming and clearly love and care for their land. The climb up to the site was fine (without a trailer). The winds were rather random oscillating from dead calm to omnidirectional bullets. Best make sure your setup can cop a solid belting as the site’s properly exposed (which is why it’s so magnificent).

We absolutely love camping at Kimblehurst. Kev is friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Kimblehurst is a great base camp to explore Warwick and surrounds. Love the river and the national park nearby
