This beautiful 200-acre property is the perfect place to get away from it all. We have a hilltop area where you can view the sunrise from the east and the sunset in the west, with absolutely no light pollution. On a clear night, the galaxy is astounding to view. The property has multiple areas of creek frontage with both kid and adult-friendly swimming areas. There is a good area for using a small kayak (depending on the creek levels) or floating along on an inner tube, and beautiful views and wildlife abound. You may even get a visit from our beautiful king parrots. You can also enjoy bushwalking, birdwatching, and fishing, and there are even deer on the property, but they’re rarely seen. If you’re keen, you can take your 4WD to the end of Emu Creek Road, where you can start your trek up to the old plane wreck. Bushwalking to the Steamers (for the very experienced) can be accessed at the end of Emu Creek Road. We are a working cattle farm and have around 40 head of cattle.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to put up camp then this one is for you. You will be 25 min to Killarney if you want to explore the cafes or have a country cooked pub meal.  Go a little further to explore Queen Mary Falls or to do some four-wheel driving through the multiple Condamine river crossings. Alternatively, you can drive the other direction into Warwick for shopping or maybe to attend one of the great events that Warwick hosts throughout the year. You will need to cross two small creek crossings before getting to your peaceful campground. Generally the level of the creek crossing is less than 20 cm or so but if there has been rain it can be a lot higher.  *Please note that if there is a lot of rain, the site may not be accessible.  Pitch your tent or park your van wherever you want in this area. You will be alongside the creek and if you wander a bit further up you will find some nice spots to swim or wade. There is a small covered area for your use and a fire pit ready for you to sit around. This is a great area for groups of campers. If you are looking to book one site only we will not book anyone else into the site, so it will be all yours! Alternatively you can bring all your friends.  Either way, you will not be sharing with others. Bring yourself and your friends and get ready to chill! *Please note that this site is just off the dirt road. It does have cars coming past at times as it is the only road to other properties and also up to bushwalking trails. We would estimate there could be 5 cars that pass on some days and in busy periods there might be 10 or 20 pass. This camp site does have a property with a shed next to it and sometimes people stay there. We just want you to be aware that this is not total seclusion (it's still a beautiful spot though!)

Hilltop hood is located at the high point of the property. It is accessible with a 4-wheel drive. This is best for campers with tents and off-road campers. Feel free to explore this part of the property. There is lots of open space for the kids to run around in this area, and you will have amazing views of the stars at night. You may even stubble across our little rainforest area. We have recently added a covered area to this site.

We stayed at the Hilltop Hood site and absolutely loved it. The views were incredible, the campsite was super private, spacious, and very well maintained. Kev and Shelley were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. There were plenty of wallabies around, which was great to see, but they kept their distance from the campsite during our stay. I wouldn't recommend attempting the access track in a 2WD, but it was very straightforward in our 4WD ute. 10/10, we'll definitely be back!

Hilltop Hood
This camp site was a steep rocky climb to get into, our beautiful & amazing hosts took us for a look on the buggy to find the best route for us to get up there. Once we arrived we both knew we will find a way as the views were EPIC!!!!! 360 degrees of everything - mountains, bush, plain lands, beautiful sunsets & sunrises. Back down we went to get the car & van and head up, 2 attempts but we made it. We relaxed by the fire, had cheese & wine. We were at a chilly 4 degrees so rugged up well. We spent the day reading, relaxing in the hammock and sitting by the fire listening to music, This is exactly what we needed. We will 100% be back here for more enjoyable weekends. DKJ Travels

Loved camping at hilltop hood....campsite is well maintained and clean. It's the perfect spot if you enjoy peace and quiet with a stunning view. Host were wonderful. We will definitely go back especially when we are in need of a quick weekend getaway.

Great couple of days at the Pump house. The campsite was well presented and the hosts friendly. Heaps of wildlife and very quiet and relaxing. There was a nice water hole with water but the creek wasn't flowing as it's pretty dry. Lots of room and firewood to collect on and around the site. Loved it.

Hilltop was so good I had to make a return trip and it lived up to my remembered expectations, the views are absolutely beautiful and the privacy is unparalleled. Kev and Shelley are wonderful hosts and super easy to communicate with. No doubt I’ll be back for a 3rd getaway

Hilltop Hood
Very grateful to have spent a few nights under the stars on Kev and Shelley's gorgeous hilltop site. The shelter was a lovely bonus and great for shade and a bit of a wind break. We had trouble getting ourselves away from work and arrived a couple of days later than our booking, but Kev and Shelley were gracious and lovely about us having to message them a few times and even helped us add an extra day to our booking. Kev also left us a little firewood for our first night and met us on arrival to guide us to the site and check we were ok. Super lovely hosts and beautiful private site. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our weekend at Kimblehurst. Originally we had booked the Blackberry site however because of a loose hanging gumtree branch we stayed at the Pumphouse site instead. Can highly recommend it. There is plenty of room for large groups and easy access to the creek which would be amazing for a swim when running. Shelley was very welcoming and communication was timely. Directions were also clear. If you’re looking for wildlife and a relaxing place in the bush then this is the place to go.

It’s not easy to get this kind of serenity within a reasonable distance of Brissy but Kimblehurst (hilltop hood) delivers. Amazing views, sounds of nature all around you and a shelter in case it rains - great spot, will be back!

Camping at Kimblehurst was an incredible experience for the whole family, including the dog. The land is beautiful and well maintained, the hosts are incredibly approachable and generous with their time. So much beautiful wildlife around with the creek crossings at walkable distance from all sites. Will definitely be coming again to enjoy this amazing experience.

We loved the Blackberry Creek campsite. Great site size, the campfire pit was ready to go. There is a house near by, and the campsite is close to the road, but there was not much passing traffic and no noise from nearby houses. Perfect place for us to unwind and enjoy nature. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Great people. We will definitely camp here again.

It was lovely to finally meet Kev and Shelly this time on our stay at Kimblehurst. They were being considerate of our privacy but I managed to get a hot tip on the water hole close by. The new shelter they put up on Hilltop is perfect insurance when you don't feel like setting up a tarp. We find the spot great to watch the afternoon disappear. So much life. The late October evening's conditions after a wee storm was close to perfect by the creek. Trackies, pullover and thongs. No mozzies. New moon. As usual, we took some hours out of the day to get up and down the challenging but spectacular Steamers Track. Catch you again soon enough.

Hilltop Hood
Visited Kev and Shelley’s hilltop site of this past weekend and it was beautiful, an awesome site with provided shelter and great views both sides overlooking the ridges. Awesome hosts with great communication, checked in to make sure we were doing alright and provided suggestions on where to go for the day. Highly recommend anyone to stay at this site 10/10 would love to go back again

Had a great stay at Emu Vale, Kev & Shelly are absolutely lovely hosts. Camp site was well maintained, access to a creek, lots of space to set up camp. Views were amazing and place was quiet. The creek crossing was easy to go through with 4x4 and even when creek had risen due to rain we were still able to get through. Kev & Shelly even checked in on us to let us know about the creek being a bit high. Camp was easy to find from directions given. We will definitely be returning.
