Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
I have 8 sites at the moment each one is in a open bushland setting with lovely views, no site is within 100 meters of another and each one has a different view with lots of privacy, and all Dog and Kid friendly, shallow water, and deep water for swimming or kayaking , creeks, animals to feed and heaps of room to run and play. Adult friendly, huge sites for big groups and plenty of space, great swimming and lots of things to here and in the surrounding areas. Some sites are more suited to Caravans as the access is better and some are better suited to campers / 4WD but all can be accessed with a regular car. We have NO road frontage so sites are private, quiet and safe and only 3ks off the New England Highway. All campers MUST bring their own Chemical toilet and shower facilities. A small rest room and shower is available in case of emergency only I run a working farm raising Sheep and Lambs, Chickens, Ducks, Horses, Donkeys, Vegies, Preserves and Jams. Farm produce is available on request and availability, eg Free range eggs , farm raised Lamb, locally sourced Bacon for the BBQ , and seasonal vegetables, jams and chutneys. Thanks to the Beautiful rain we have had recently, our large dam is full, providing a wonderful spot for swimming, paddling or just splashing about, the Dam has long sloping access so is great for families and dogs, PLEASE NOTE The Google Maps photo is way out of date, our Dam is full. For those who may be into Waterskiing or Fishing Leslie Dam is a 10 min drive away and offers fishing and water sports then come back to your quiet camp away from the crowds. We are 20 min South of Warwick, We are only 30 min from the Stanthorpe Wineries, Breweries fresh fruit and Vege, Cheese factory to name a few things to do. A little further along you will find Girraween National Park renowned for amazing walks. Warwick Hosts the Biggest and Best Campdraft and Rodeo on the last full week of October (Covid permitting) as well as the quirky Jumpers and Jazz festival in July. Steam Train Journeys , half or full days, We have an amazing motor sport venue which holds meet every weekend, cars bikes, vintage, minis, Porsche's, you name it they race it every weekend. As well as many Equestrian Events, you can spend the day out exploring and then you can come back to your beautiful campsite, that is if you have not decided to stay relaxing and swimming for the day in the quiet watching the sheep and horses pass bye to then watch the Sunset and wildlife then look at the amazing night sky. Children under 13 free We are also Dog Friendly (conditions apply)

Very wholesome. Lovely little place to stop just out of Warwick. Cathy was lovely and the property is beautiful. Lots of sheep, horses and donkeys. Pretty well priced $25 and got the whole place to myself.

Absolutely loved it, Cathy is a wonderful host and the property is beautiful. Our site was very large, private and clean. We didn't expect to see so many of the farm animals at and around our site, that was a bonus. Highly recommend.

Cathy is a super chill and gracious host. 8 spots on the property but you are no where near anyone so privacy is guaranteed. My spot was Top of the Hill. Be sure to bring a marquee or shade of some sort as you get the direct sun and will get hot. Otherwise, everything was spectacular and relaxing only 25 mins to Warwick and 25 min to a winery. Definetly going back.

This was a one night extension to my stay. (see previous review) I loved the first two nights so much I added an extra night. Property is well maintained and picturesque. I travelled with my dog and would recommend and definitely return.

I stayed at Ironbark Trees camp site with my dog since I had choice of sites. Cathy showed us to the site and suggested this as the nicest. The property was absolutely lovely, serene and relaxing. The farm animals are curious and I loved their interactions with us and our site. There are plenty of tracks around the property to explore and it's a lovely walk around the damn. The fresh eggs were yummy and the fire tips were appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Top of the Hill
Nice property with campsites well maintained, mowed and well spaced apart from each other. Great outlook across the property from up on the hill, you can hear the highway in the distance but it's not intrusive. Perfect spot to base yourself and explore the region or just relax and unwind.

This is a beautiful and peaceful private property, perfect for nature lovers. Bring a pair of binoculars and you’ll spot plenty of wildlife—pelicans, native birds, kangaroos, donkeys, and horses. The host was warm and welcoming, and generously took the time to let my children meet her friendly dogs while she tended to the animals. She was also quick to respond and genuinely helpful with any issues. A truly lovely and memorable stay.

Fantastic hospitality from Cathy. Beautiful location. Could not complain at all, even though it was a bit rainy and windy, it was still worth it. Highly recommend.

From the first step onto Carrington we felt welcomed. Cathy met us at the gate and showed us to our site. And WOW the site was spectacular. We stayed down near the dam and we loved every minute of our stay. We had some visitors a few donkeys and some cows and forgot the rod to do some fishing. But will bring this next time. If you’re looking to get off grid in a peaceful environment, then this is the place. Friendly host, wandering farm animals, far enough away from civilisation for total peace and quiet, but close enough, that if required is only a 15 min drive away.

The property was nicely mown and tidy. Cathy was friendly and helpful. A little tricky to find. We missed the road number and the property wasn’t really on Pikedale Rd but McDougall.

The place was good. The sites are well spaced out and you have good privacy and little risk of disturbing other campers. There are a lot of other sites on this location that are better than this one. Make note, there are no trees at all that can be utilised for shade on this site. The photos on the site listing for Top of the hill are not of the site itself. I specifically chose this site because of the photo that has shade trees and is well away from the other sites. Ultimately we were fine because we had 2, 3x3 shelters. We would go back there, but wouldn't use this site.

Peaceful, spacious and welcoming

We spent the Easter long weekend at Carrington and couldn’t have asked for a better escape. The property is absolutely stunning—spacious, quiet, and surrounded by nature. Sites are well spaced out which is what attracts us to a Hipcamp. Waking up to the sound of horses, donkeys, and sheep was such a wholesome experience. The campsite was well-maintained, and Cathy clearly puts her love into every detail. Our firewood was delivered before we arrived, Cathy meet us and escorted us to site with a lovely check in the next day to ensure all was good. Our dogs had the best time exploring and watching all the animals roam past our site to drink at the dam. We loved winding down with campfires under the stars. It felt private, yet welcoming—exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend if you're after a peaceful countryside getaway with a touch of farm life charm. We’ll definitely be back!

Easter 2025 Carrington "Pony Paddock". Awesome spot for our large group of 18 campers, 4 dogs, combo of caravans, camper trailers and tent camping. Elevated position, which gave us a wonderful outlook of the countryside. Took ski boats for a spin on Leslie Dam a short 15 minute drive to the water edge. Host Cathy, helpful friendly and very welcoming host. The propertys little dam also was a treat for a little fish for yellow belly and cod. 15 minute drive if that on stanthorpe highway and you are in Warwick, very handy position and all the privacy you would wish for. Awesome weather and easy access to the property and our camp site. The camp fire under the stars every night was awesome. Thanks Cathy for sharing your property with us all.

What a beautiful spot! The site was huge, well-maintained and extremely clean right on the dam with plenty of space between us and other campers to feel like we had our own private property. Cathy was an exceptional host - so welcoming, friendly and helpful right down to personally escorting us to the site where she had firewood ready to go and her daily check-ins with dogs in tow were a highlight. The kids loved all the animals, especially the donkey welcoming committee! We will definitely be back.

What to not like? Nothing!

- Not too far off the highway but far enough from the traffic noise. - Cathy’s instruction is clear and easy to follow - Cathy, Luther, and Alice were warmly welcoming - Stevie’s Tree was very easy to access, super tidy, super clean. The tree and the water view are stunning - The farm animals take turns visiting us. They are cute and peaceful, not causing any trouble at all (no bad smells, no flies). I woke up with a calf outside my window and a few cows sat around the fire pit. Hard not to laugh. - Can’t get TV reception but probably our antenna isn’t very good. - Mobile and internet reception are excellent - Cancellation policy is better than most - Highly recommended

Unfortunately our Van lost all brakes back in Brisbane on the day we were to arrive and couldn’t make it. Cathy gave us a full refund which we honestly weren’t expecting as it wasn’t her fault. When Van is back up and running will definitely be rebooking out of curtesy to enjoy this little paradise on the dam.

Cathy provided great service the whole trip and ensured we were well looked after and enjoying our stay. Swimming in the dam is lovely and the beautiful property just elevates the overall experience. Genuinely the best hipcamp my mates and I have been to so far. Would for sure come back and recommend to anyone and everyone.
