Camping site is located in 41 acres of natural bush land, the perfect get away for nature lovers, hikers, horse riders and bird watchers. There is a dam and a forested area studded with granite boulders. The property is in an an elevated spot, it has lovely views and great places to camp and there's a lovely yielding atmosphere of peace and tranquility. There are accessible walking trails through the property with several areas of slightly sloping ground. We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general. Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there. The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150. Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW! There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals. 13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out! No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds. I recently had the opportunity to stay at a wonderful Hipcamp spot, and I can’t recommend it enough! Nestled in the heart of nature, this location offered the perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the stunning views and the lush surroundings. The host was incredibly welcoming and provided a thorough tour of the site, ensuring that I felt comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay. They even left some thoughtful little touches, like a campfire starter and local treats, which really made me feel at home. The camping site itself was well-maintained and offered all the amenities promised in the listing. I particularly loved the option to set up my tent near the water, where I could fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the creek. There were plenty of spots for hiking and exploring, and I even spotted some wildlife during my stay! One of the highlights of my trip was the communal bonfire area, where I had the chance to meet other campers and share stories under the stars. It created a sense of community that I didn’t expect but truly appreciated. For anyone looking for a getaway that combines nature, comfort, and a touch of adventure, this Hipcamp spot is a gem! I’ve already started planning my return visit. Highly recommended!

I love this spot and will be back. Nice open area with privacy, didn’t really see anybody. Good for enjoying the sun and moon. Nice little walk to the front gate then up to the top of the property to grab some wood and get some exercise for the dogs. Saw cows and wallabies. Birds like kookaburras, red tailed black cockatoos and lots of small wren like birds to see. Ground good for dogs with no bindis and could walk barefoot everywhere, I really like the ground with stiff short tussock style grass stays nice and dry and no dew in the morning. I went around autumn and really liked everything. The host has put in a lot of thought for their guests with a cool campsite sign and flat area in front of some nice trees and a great fire pit with a stainless steel grill to use. I have only positives to share about this stay. Thanks for having me.

Loved the campsite and reasonable priced. The only issue I have is I had to leave early, my dog had a stroke and I had to pack up and leave in a hurry in the dark. I was worried I might of left something there so I messaged the owner and got completely blanked. That says something to me. Unfortunately no I won’t be back.

We loved this spot! Very large, flat and completely private area. Had lovely views across the property (watching the cows and horses) and to the mountains in Girraween NP. Wonderful sunsets! Within a short drive to Girraween, Bald Rock and Boonoo Boonoo NPs as well as wineries (make sure you go to Balancing Heart) and cute country towns (Tenterfield is lovely). We extended our stay to have 7 days here. Just lovely!

Perfect for camping out in the bush under the stars. Lots of space and good supply of firewood. It is a nice quiet clean and tidy camp. With good easy access. It was nice to see a few kangaroos and a bearded dragon. This site is priced right and is good value for money. Communication with the host was good. We were able to tuck ourselves away in a nice peaceful private spot.

What a great spot for a caravan stay, absolutely loved it. Great outdoors with firepit and firewood and brilliant night sky views and even a few friendly Roos. And being a rail enthusiast loved the Station and rail tracks. Definitely would stay again if I’m ever back this way and recommend it to friends.

Nice private site, mown grass with a fire pit, clear of any widow maker trees and ease access. The drive into Tenterfield takes around 20 to 25 minutes.

I had an overall wonderful stay at this campsite! The site was impressively wide and open, offering plenty of space to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It truly felt like my own private retreat, as I had the entire campsite to myself. The solitude made it even more serene and allowed me to fully unwind and reconnect with nature. One of the highlights of my mornings was the delightful visits from wallabies. Watching these wonderful creatures hop around as I sipped my coffee was an unforgettable experience—it added such a special touch to the trip. The location was perfect for exploring the local region, including the nearby national parks. Whether it was hiking, soaking in breathtaking views, or simply wandering through nature, the area had so much to offer. However, one night there was some noise from the nearby highway, which disrupted the tranquility a bit. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s worth noting if you’re particularly sensitive to sounds when camping. Despite this, the campsite was peaceful for the most part, and the wide-open space allowed for a true escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. I would still highly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a spacious, private getaway with excellent access to the region's natural beauty. I look forward to visiting again!

Lovely, private and peaceful. We based ourselves here for the Easter long weekend and explored the nearby Girraween and Sundown national parks to both hike and 4wd. We also visited some wineries and apple orchard. Very central place to explore all the places surrounding the camp. We love the fact that this is the only camp site and we have it to ourselves. Pure relaxation in nature.

Hi, we had a peaceful, calm and easy stay at Jennings camp. We walked and seen lots of birds. Watched roos and wallabies. And had a beautiful fire each night. There was firewood for us there. Felt safe and relaxed well. Thankyou.

I had a fabulous two nights stay at this wonderful site. You have plenty of privacy and the cows and kangaroos and birds on the property are all friendly. Direction was spot on and the site is huge with a fire pit perfect for campfire cooking. Located just on the NSW side of the QLD/NSW border, I would highly recommend this site to anyone :)

Great site, private, firepit & table, easy access and signpost to camping site with a large mowed grass area to set up with wallabies, bird life, rock bolders and mountains to enjoy. Close to the national park, wineries etc. Prompt replies from Gillian. Only downside was very slight road noise if wind blowing our way however this was more than offset by the location with no-one else around and easy access to the amenities in the area! Definitively go back and recommend to others.

A great stay with plenty of privacy! The homemade firepit BBQ was excellent, along with the bench seat to get close to the fire. Easy access in and out of the property and the hosts were quick to respond to questions.
