What a wonderful site to stay at. Great base camp for the nearby National Parks. We camped just the one night in winter and it was beautiful and relaxing. Will definitely be back and hopefully for a longer time.

A private campsite near Stanthorpe

Steven’s campsite is picturesque. Nestled away from any hint at civilisation is a lovely private campsite near a dam. Lightly treed surrounds with cattle quietly grazing, roos hopping around at dawn and dusk, and birds aplenty - this spot is brimming with serenity. The camp site has a sawdust toilet, a shower cubicle (no running water, but it provides privacy and a decent wind break), and a camp fire pit with hotplate, grill and billy hook. Steven will deliver cartloads of split firewood for a small fee and he sells locally sourced beef and pork products (try the pepper-kissed bacon!)
We arrived late when it was already dark and Steven met us at the gate to show us the campsite and amenities - and he already had the fire roaring for us!
For a fairly priced, private, beautiful camping experience in the heart of the granite belt, look no further than Steven’s camp site.

Great private campsite with a peaceful atmosphere and plenty of space to walk and explore. The toilet was clean and well maintained. The fire pit came with a grill, which made cooking over the fire much easier and enjoyable.

Bush camping at its finest.

Lovely quiet bush camping in a secluded spot by the dam.
There is no noise here except for the wildlife. Amazing view. There is a fire pit with griddle for bbq’s and log seats around. A sawdust toilet is fine but you will need a shower set up. The location is a little bit higher in altitude than nearby Stanthorpe which means cooler nights a milder days even in January. Steven can also supply amazing organic eggs and exceptional nitrate free bacon. We would love to come back again.

We had a perfect overnight stay, greeted by the goats and cows, but otherwise it was a solitary bliss. So private and lovely view over the dam. Clean and tidy amenities and friendly hosts. Great location near to national parks - we hope to be back! Many thanks

Our 3rd stay certainly did not disappoint! Beautiful farm with a lovely host family. Evenings by the camp fire and mornings waking up to the cows. Our kids loved going for walks and this hipcamp is a great peaceful base for exploring Stanthorpe.

Serenity, stunning sunsets & stars

We absolutely loved this camp site! The perfect escape from the city grind. We're all fairly rough campers so the facilities were all we needed. It was just us, and a few critters, and the stars. What a treat, seeing as it was easter weekend and all the other sites and the NP were a noisy mess of people. We really liked the quietness, the view and the firepit. It was easy enough to find, with a couple of gates to get through, an easy 2wd dirt road to access & a simple outhouse. Recommend bug spray as I had a couple of ticks attach, but was left alone once I sprayed myself.

Private and peaceful

We enjoyed 2 nights at Banksia Springs using it as a base to explore the Stanthorpe region. Steven was a great host providing lots of information before we arrived and value added to our experience enabling us to purchase gourmet pork sausages and farm fresh eggs. We supported his children by purchasing firewood which they delivered to our campsite and to our amazement we received a huge neatly staked pile of firewood. The sawdust toilet is a bonus as is the fire pit with its adjustable cooking plates. The campsite has mature trees providing dapple shade and is near a dam providing nice sunsets almost over the water! Thanks Steven for a providing a private and peaceful camp for our enjoyment.

Great campsite! Flat, spacious, great sunset views, loads of wildlife, toilet and great fire pit! This is a gem of a location with friendly hosts. Good fire wood and great meat are extras but worth ever penny. Highly recommend as a base to explore the many attractions around the area.

Peaceful & comfortable private campsite in the trees overlooking a damn.
The toilet was simple sawdust style, clean but quite basic depending on what you are used to. There is a great fire pit with grill, hot plate (not working at the moment) and a spot to hang your billy.
Steve was super speedy communicating with us on our last minute booking, he came past to make sure we were all good and was able to sell us some of their sausages and steaks. Sirloin was great cooked over the fire same night!
Highly recommend if you need somewhere private & simple to spend the night.
