You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. If you’re not into actual camping in tent or trailer form, come spend some time in our insulated rustic cabin that has been lovingly built by Damo. Featuring an open floor plan with a queen bed, a bunk bed and two singles, this space can accomodate up to 6 people. Sheets are provided but guests will need to provide their own blankets and pillows. Heating and cooking are facilitated by a cast iron wood fire, featuring two hot plates and an oven space and there is a cold water sink for drinking water and dishes. Some wood will be provided for your stay. Once this is gone, you may purchase extra. A small fridge will facilitate some food and drink storage but you may need to bring a portable fridge/esky as well. A gas powered shower can be hired if required. A new long drop is under construction closer to the cabin but for the moment, feel free to use the communal long drop near the camp kitchen. A rechargeable lantern is supplied for you to take with you. The cabin is solar powered, with usb points for phone charging, but no other power points. There is also an outdoor fire pit, and outdoor setting if you’d prefer to cook outside, or simply sit around it enjoying the ambience of being in nature. Wood for the fire pit will need to be brought in, or feel free to collect fallen wood from around the property. Please DO NOT cut down or deface any standing trees. A fantastic location for a girls or boys weekend, somewhere for the elders or non camping family members to stay, or for a weekend away with the family camping without actual camping!

We loved camping at Watton Airstrip, with our dog and 18ft (3tonne) off grid caravan. The site was well maintained, flat and relatively secluded with river views. Damien and Tammy were prompt with communication and provided clear instructions on how to get to the camp. As others have commented, the terrain to the river camps is challenging, and we were happy to have a competent driver, car and caravan with sufficient clearance. The meat tray we purchased through Damien and Tammy was delicious! We were fortunate enough to see platypus the afternoon of our arrival so kept to the river bank most of our stay.

A Hidden Gem Just Outside Bathurst

We had an awesome one night stay at The Deep Spot at Watton Airstrip and will definitely be back! We met Damien at the homestead before heading down and couldn’t have asked for a better host. He was incredibly welcoming, up for a great chat and shared some fascinating history about the property. We were initially a little cautious about the 4WD-only descent while towing our 23ft caravan, but Damien put us completely at ease. The drive down was actually very manageable, take your time, select low range and enjoy the scenery. The campsite itself is amazing. We set up within about 5 metres of the river with plenty of open, well maintained space and sunshine throughout the day. Damien told us there were platypuses in this stretch of river and we were lucky enough to see several that afternoon and again the next morning, a huge highlight! My son and I also had a fish. No luck this time, although we spotted some very large carp and have heard there are some great fish caught here. There’s a camp kitchen and pit toilet, and the drive back up was just as easy as coming down. Being so close to Bathurst yet feeling miles away from city life makes this place pretty special. We’re already planning our next stay! Beautiful property, fantastic host and a brilliant family camping spot.

Beautiful camping down by the river at the bottom of their property. Everything you could ask for, for a weekend trip. Quiet, spacious, lovely horses and plenty of kangaroos and wildlife to watch. Facilities are kept clean and easy to get too. Damien met us at the front gate and was very helpful welcoming and just a top bloke to have a conversation with. Definitely will be back (P.S the Alpacas have a staring problem if travelling with a dog XD)

The trip down was a blur — mostly because said passenger had their eyes shut — but once we reached the bottom, it opened up into wide, beautiful space and a river that looked like it had been ripped straight from a postcard. We planned for two nights. We stayed five. Turns out it’s impossible to leave when you’re sleeping next to river rapids, having a fire every night, and watching the dogs live their absolute best lives in all that open space. And yes… I did eventually make peace with the road. Character development! Damien and Tammie are brilliant hosts — warm, funny, and full of local knowledge. The whole place is peaceful, stunning, and exactly the kind of spot you accidentally turn into a much longer holiday.

The campsite was peaceful, spacious, and right by the river, making it the perfect place to relax and switch off. Waking up to horses grazing nearby and seeing the friendly alpacas wandering around was such a unique experience. We spent our days around the campfire, cooking great food, exploring the area, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. It was quiet, family-friendly, and had everything you need for a relaxing camping trip. If you’re looking for somewhere to unwind and enjoy nature, this place is hard to beat. We absolutely loved our stay at The Rapids. You can tell Tammie and Damien really care about the property. Everything was clean, well looked after, and there was so much space to explore. The drive in was a lot of fun, and seeing the horses, alpacas, emus, and deer roaming around made the experience even more special. Being right by the freshwater river was so peaceful, and having clean toilet facilities was a huge bonus. It felt like the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy nature. We will definitely be back.

The View Camping Spot

My mate and I had an awesome time up at The View. The camping site is easily accessible with any type of car as there isn’t that much unsealed road to get there. The site itself is fairly flat and clear. Surrounded by gumtrees, it’s a really peaceful place to pitch a tent. You can find yourself above the fog line or within it. It’s a great experience. No toilet or shower facilities so you just have to come prepared. Damien and Tammie made us feel very welcome and gave us some good advice and information about their property. Definitely will be back again with some friends. Thanks for having us!

What a fantastic place to spend the weekend with family and friends! We had an amazing time at this campsite and couldn't have asked for a better getaway. Beautiful surroundings, great facilities, and plenty of space for the kids to enjoy themselves. We’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing camping trip. We’ll definitely be back!

Very clean and impressive camping grounds. All sites were set well apart from other campers and set in exquisite nature, from the rolling green grass areas to the well maintained trees, bushland and flowing river noises helped relax.

Rivers Edge

We had an awesome 2-night stay at River's Edge in our camper trailer. Such a beautiful, peaceful spot right on the river. The absolute highlight was spotting at least 3 platypuses during our stay – we definitely weren't expecting to see that many! The site was surprisingly level for a riverside campsite, which made setting up nice and easy. Just be aware that you'll definitely want a decent 4WD to get in, especially if you're towing, as the track could be a bit challenging especially if its wet. Damo and Tammie have a great property and it feels like a real escape. We'd happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet camping spot surrounded by nature.

This camping location offers a truly beautiful setting. The natural surroundings are quite picturesque and provide a serene escape. We found the environment to be exceptionally pleasant for our stay.
