Hones Pointe was established in 1988. It was built by four insurance agents to elude our sales managers in a unique natural setting. Over the years, we have planted many different varieties of trees and perennials to observe. Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall. Primitive camping where you can pick your own scenic spot. We will furnish picnic table, fire ring, garbage can, and charcoal grill during your campout.Welcome!

Nightfall Farm

2 sites ¡ Lodging129 acres ¡ Crothersville, IN
We're bringing my family farm back to life. My parents farmed here until the 1980's, but couldn't make a profit with corn and soybeans. My husband, Nate, and I moved home in 2014, and started turning the fields into pastures. Today, we run Nightfall Farm, raise animals with respect, and sell pasture-raised meat locally. Come wander the 125 acres of woods, wetlands, and farm. Check out the animals in our pastures, and walk along the Muscatatuck River. Enjoy a quiet fire. Hear the roar of frogs calling in Spring. Chase fireflies. Behold a family farm coming back to life.

The best camping near Clifty Falls State Park guide

Overview

About

Check out several cool things at this state park in southeastern Indiana. Clifty Creek Canyon offers many waterfalls, a deep canyon, a railroad tunnel, and a rugged trail. All of these things satiate your need for an outdoor adventure.

See all four waterfalls in this park. Tunnel Falls is the tallest at 83 feet. Trails leading to these places are rugged or even very rugged. One trail is a 3-mile path that is one of the roughest trails in the state.

Look up when you reach the canyon floor. Light only reaches the floor during the sun's highest point in the sky.

View the 1852 railroad tunnel, essentially an artificial cave, from May 1 to Oct. 31. Construction crews started the tunnel but then abandoned the idea.

Head to nearby Madison for Lanier State Historic Site. It's a former mansion once owned by a millionaire banker. The drive just to get here has stunning views of the Ohio River.

Choose from around 167 campsites, with 106 of them having electricity.

When to go

The park's waterfalls are most spectacular in the winter and spring, showcasing their dynamic range from frozen sculptures to roaring cascades. Summer offers lush greenery and full access to park amenities, while fall dazzles with vibrant foliage.

  • Accessibility varies across trails, with some offering wheelchair access and others presenting rugged challenges.
  • Clifty Inn and its restaurant provide a cozy retreat for those seeking comfort after a day of exploration.
