My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family. Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Book by the end of March and get a Early Bird Discount! SLTABXED (10%) This hidden paradise has a waterfall that used to have a mill on it in the early 1900's. There are cliffs on each side of the creek making it the perfect spot for serene relaxation. Following upstream is an assortment of spots to pitch a tent. The most notable sites are surrounded by hemlock tree's and is peaceful when birds chirp over the small rapids echoing from the large overhang *I am in the process of making multiple sites but until I do so it is first come first serve. There are multiple sites at main campsite and along creek, I've had a private event of thirty people staying at once. There are also smaller spots next to waterfall, uphill near cliff and I've had people go below falls for some complete wilderness (blocked by gorge and waterfall). With this being said, I do offer private bookings and accommodate special events! *I travel for work, so I won't always be here, but I will send directions and details after confirmation and make sure all is savvy during. Please be respectful to one and another and let me know asap if any issues arise but truthfully everyone has been amazing and I thoroughly enjoy meeting and getting to know everyone! Learn more about this land:This is a beautiful 200 acre farm that has been in my family for over 100 years. My father (at age 93) still harvests hay on 100 of the acres twice annually. Primitive campsites range from soft and scenic rolling fields with mountainous backdrops to completely wooded areas with the wild Rockastle River within 1 mile from the property. Discover a rare campsite available between two cliffs that the Native Americans originally called home. It remains just as they found it. There is an easily accessible large flat cliff area perfect for multiple tents and campfires! However, if a little more comfort is your style, you can unplug and unwind in a two story cabin located on a beautiful and secluded 2 acre pond with a dock and pier that can be reserved for $85 nightly. I classify the Lakehouse Cabin as primitive glamping! Wildlife is present every single day! We are near two Wildlife management reserve areas and completely surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forrest. Deer, turkey and so much more can be observed daily in their natural habitat. This is truly an amazing and rare gem right here in our beloved Bluegrass State!

This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy! Learn more about this land: You can park an RV or trailer on these private sites within a 10min drive or short walk to Laurel Lake! Gravel roads to a field capable of holding up to two trailers with more planned in time! Primitive sites, Quiet n private. These sites are also within 10 mi of both London and Corbin Ky, with services available at both. Scenic Cumberland Falls is a short 25 min drive, and this place is adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest with plenty of hiking nearby.

Weekend Trip to Clayton Geneva Memorial Camp Ground

Such a beautiful, quiet location right on the water. All of the sites are maintained well along with the amenities. There’s a porta potty near the campsites themselves and then a small bathroom/shower room a little up the drive on the main property. I know the site areas have a history of flooding easily since it’s right on the water, luckily I had amazing weather while there and I know I would have been accommodated on the upper land area if need be!

Weekend Trip to Wow Mountain Resort

Very peaceful and private. The stars in the sky above the trees was a pretty mellow feeling. Something happened during a storm I would imagine and host quickly got back with me about grabbing another site (completely out of their control). I’d stay again for sure. Plan on it matter of fact. Maybe check out that cave spot!

This is the perfect spot if you want to get away from it all. Its remote, serene, and we'll kept. Its not a big park, nor is it a resort, but it was lovely. There arent amenities, but there are farm animals, green grass, blue sky and quiet. Amber, the owner, is a truly kind human and she cares for her guests and her animals. She even provides a bucket to save scraps for her chickens! I absolutely loved being there and hope we can return again.

Ambers spot was perfect. Peaceful, private, and by the water. It was the perfect stop off for two nights as I made my way through. Amber was kind, polite and more than attentive. So much that she even offered her KY hospitality and charm to solve any of my dilemmas. Great spot with great people and easily accessible. Plus I was able to purchase some local honey from her farm too. Highly recommend to all.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds I've been to. Plus it was close to other falls and kayak launches. Cleanest port o potty I have ever seen, and the shower stayed warm long enough for both my son and I to get decent showers. I do recommend a large bucket for water, we only brought a small one and it's about .5 mile walk up the drive to get potable water. Also bring tick spray, I had 5, my husband 2, and my youngest 3. There are some that help if sprayed beforehand on the site and clothes, I just didn't think of it, and we may have just walked into a hatch. Also, where we stayed the swimming is not good for kids, too stong of a current, but further down we noticed there are larger rocks and it gets shallower, so if you have kids I recommend a site downstream. Overall it's a gorgeous place to stay, Amber and the gentleman that helps are very kind. Its quiet and safe and our kids didn't want to leave, even though they could not access internet! Which was also very nice!

Perfect private spot to camp for the night with family. Hosts were super responsive with questions. Firewood left by the pit and the area was super clean. Only issue we had was dogs on another property were barking all throughout the night but no biggy. Would definitely recommend

Weekend Trip to Rustling Pines Campground

This place is clean and cared for. The horse riders that stayed there was as friendly as they come. Let me tell you, the owner cares about his customers as I watched him take care of 4 older ladies beside us with fire wood. In today’s time and age customer service is hard to find so if you need to find it go to Rustling Pines you will definitely find customer service. Rustling Pines- thanks for the great night you guys are awesome.

This place was easy to find; beautiful drive, beautiful land! Although I was up by the RV’s & restroom, I took a walk down by the river where the tent camping is. I was only there to sleep, basically. But the river sites are incredible! I’m SO coming back to camp down there, & taking a few days for it. Amber was awesome!

Weekend Trip to Mountainfire!

Stayed 2 nights in Shady Grove Campsite. It’s still spring so no tree leaves yet but it was beautiful! Gavin takes such great care of his property so all of his trees are tall and healthy. He had set up a nice welcome folder with good info and a few local tips on food as well as activities nearby. Thanks again Gavin!

This was a great safe spot about 10 minutes off the highway on my way thru. Arrived at about 10pm and was back on the road by 8:30. The bathroom was clean and close by + Amber let me fill my water up before heading out (THANK YOU!) Would love to come back and stay at one of the riverside sites!

My partner and I showed up as the sun was setting after finding this site on iOverlander, and Amber kindly showed us around and got us settled right away. We had a beautiful site to ourselves right on the river and enjoyed the peace and quiet under the stars. Amber supplied us with lots of firewood, definitely worth the add-on. We only wished we would’ve arrived earlier to see the farm animals! The next morning we felt so grateful to take hot showers in a clean bathroom. We will definitely come back again if we find ourselves in the area. Thank you Amber!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! This place far exceeded our expectations, and the photos simply can't capture its true charm. You really need to see it for yourself. It’s a true love nest. If you're seeking a space that combines simplicity with elegance—where you and your loved one can feel secure and secluded—this is it. The only thing I’d suggest is adding Wi-Fi, as there's no cell service here.

I loved Amber's land, it was beautiful and peaceful. She was very sweet and helpful. I would definitely go back with the the rv and kids. The restroom and shower was nice and kept clean as well. Also it's nice that people can bring there pets and they have a groomer on the grounds. They also have several extra things to purchase.

Bella’s place was a peaceful overnight stop for me. Getting there includes about 5 miles down a river bottom road and the rustic sites do not have mature trees, but it was great open space for my dog and I with not many other occupants. The overall communication, on-site water and electric, and clean dump station were much appreciated.
