This site could be great but (and that’s a BIG but) there’s a LOT of trash in the creek and on the property. Broken down vehicles and scrap metal everywhere. I’m not one to give negative reviews but I depend on reviews to make my decisions and I wish someone would’ve given an accurate review before me so I could have avoided this place. Don’t get me wrong, the host (Patsy) was very nice and like I said, I hate to do it but somebody has to tell the truth about the condition of the property. I didn’t feel very safe at this location either.

Cool site by gently murmuring creek

After Hanging Limb Highway takes you up into the hills, a little winding road leads even further back into the misty mountains. Then a short straight gravel lane brings you to Cap’s place. Cap is as helpful and laid-back as you could want from a camp site that hills itself as “stress free.” We got to meet his sweet dog Rosie, too. We set up next to the babbling creek, where a hammock stretches between two gnarly old trees. Cap brought out some firewood for us, and I built a campfire in the fire pit beside a picnic table. My only regret is that we couldn’t get there earlier in the day, as it would have been a very relaxing place to spend the afternoon.
