Lovely Nature!!!
I have been camping my whole life and this place was amazing. If you want to spend some time with the nature this is the place. The Dome/tent is amazing! Despite the snow the Dome was very cozy inside

Exceeded Expectations
This was my first time taking my 9 year old daughter anywhere outside of our backyard so didn’t know what to expect. From beginning to end there was great communication and made us feel at home. With such great views and and amazing experience we will definitely be coming back.

Primitive Glamping Fun
Heather's Thunder Dome couldn't be set in a more beautiful spot! The views are incredible and we loved waking up to visits from the goats and sheep! The tent is cute and comfy, with plenty of extra blankets that kept us toasty during the 27 degree low overnight. The mattress was comfy and I loved having the vintage lounge chairs to pull up next to the wood stove. There was a small stove-ready French press that we used for our coffee in the morning. The outer shell is fully metal and can be set right on the wood stove to heat water without the plastic filter insert.
We loved using the wood stove, and just collected our own dead sticks from the nearby trees to burn. There were tons of sticks and branches and we didn't have to walk far at all to find plenty to burn. Next time we visit in the cold, we'll get the firewood bundle since the stove is the only heat source and needs larger pieces of wood if you don't want to be feeding the fire every few hours overnight.
Other than the French press and the cooking grate over the outdoor fire pit there are no cooking implements or dishes, so be sure to bring along whatever you need to prepare and eat your meals.
Heather's directions were great and she was friendly and quick to respond to messages. We didn't need help with anything during our stay but she would have been right on top of it if we had. I truly can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay and we're already planning our next visit.

A perfectly cozy nature getaway!
Spectacular experience! The hosts were very quick & informative communication. Accommodations, were comfortable & cozy. The wood furnace kept us very toasty. The view was incredible. The help packing the weekend cooler & comforts was fantastic. The animals on the Farm were very fun to interact with. We will recommend friends and likely to stay again ourselves! Wonderful hosts!

Except weekend getaway
Very happy with our stay and can’t wait to go back. Wonderful view and the dome is very spacious and cozy. Enjoyed packing light and cooking on open flames. The goat visiting in the morning was a pleasant surprise. Owners are super friendly and give you your privacy. Highly recommend

Sheep Dome-5 stars!
The BEST experience! The view was unreal, the dome was as big as pictured. The wood burning stove kept the dome nice and toasty. There were games provided for entertainment and the fire pit was a blast. We were greeted in the morning by a flock of bleating sheep. The hike around the property w Heather is a must. Truly a wonderful experience, cant wait to come back!

Sunsets and Stargazing
Very unique,and very well kept camping experience,! We really enjoyed meeting our hosts and their beautiful daughter. Heather was very kind and carried our supplies up on her utv . I would definitely recommend 👌 "Thunder Dome " for anyone looking for a unique place to camp. Only thing I would like to see is adding a small road to drive up on. Definitely put this place on your camping list.

Perfectly Peaceful Getaway
We loved our stay in the Thunder Dome! So quiet and peaceful with the most beautiful views. The wood burning stove kept us nice and warm, even in a chilly night. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning myself!

MUST GET SOME OF THIER SOAP!!! We spent our 25th wedding anniversary at the Thunder Dome and it was simply the best camping trip EVER. There are SO many trails to explore, farm yard buddies all over! We absolutely loved every minute of our short stay. We decided that we will not only go back to do some more exploring but are gunna a make that our go to anniversary spot! Heather and her husband are so welcoming and just all around awesome folks.

Camping and Animals!
What a fantastic escape for an evening! Heather and her husband were super accommodating. The Dome was short walk, yet remained private and secluded, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Loved all the animals that were roaming the property, especially the goat friend that escorted us to the Dome. Highly recommend!

Overall Fantastic Experience!
What an amazing experience. Heather and her husband were fantastic and very accommodating. I stayed one night and got there early afternoon through mid morning the next day. Immediately I was greeted by the array of animals on this working farm, which instantly made me feel like I was entering another world. Working a highly stressful job, this was a huge stress relief. The land has 20+ goats and they’re all friendly, they have chickens and ducks and dogs, it was great. The camp grounds were awesome, I enjoyed my night and the you can see thousands of stars at night. This is the perfect place for a quick get away, meditation or self reflection. Thanks again! I will definitely be sharing this with friends and family and hope to visit again soon!

Amazing Experience
Just what we needed, time to unplug! Heather was so friendly and helpful! Our favorite part was the morning hike with the goats! Definitely worth every penny and will be returning for another visit one day.

Thunder Dome
Gorgeous location surrounded by mountains, rich history, plenty of hiking trails, and a ton of exploring to do. Get your animal snuggles in with plenty of chickens, sheep, and goats roaming around The Knoll. You have thousands of places to set up camp, but I totally recommend setting up right on the overlook - hammock or tent, you'll find this place to be quite homely and secluded.
