Weekend Trip to Silver Creek Escape

We stayed at this campsite as a group of friends with our two dogs in our 2 campervans and had an absolutely fantastic time. The site was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The toilet was genuinely one of the cleanest campsite toilets we’ve ever come across! All the amenities were spot on, and the host was super responsive and helpful throughout. It was a peaceful and comfortable stay for both us and our two big dogs. We’ll definitely be recommending this spot to others and look forward to coming back again!

This amazing camp ground is pristine, quiet and private, awesome walking access through the property to the beach front with amazing walking tracks that contour the water line. Damian, Ali and family are exceptional hosts and nothing is too much of a problem. The pricing is as good as the property itself.... definitely the best priced hipcamp I've stayed for the location without a doubt! I'm a multiple return camper and will be back again!

Stayed on site 3 Thank you Michael for providing such an amazing property to stay at. Site 3 was huge, clean ,flat quiet , and grass mowed short upto river which had numerous access points. Easy walk to clean flushing toilet. Still had enough sun for a bit of solar charging in winter but site would also have plenty of shade in summer. I can see why this pace is so popular!

Pinot Pocket is a lovely place for a weekend getaway. Tonia is very accommodating and quick with communication and questions. The metal firepit was a great inclusion, meaning we didn't have to dig into soil, etc. Picturesque and quiet, we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere - which was a good thing! Our empty and unused dairy has space available out the front for up to 3, fully self contained vans (no tents) Located on the edge of the picturesque town of Buln Buln postcode 3821 (not Moe) take in views of rolling green hills and heritage listed oak trees while the gentle cattle and sheep graze nearby paddocks. We have access to power and river water on all three sites (not suitable for drinking) but no toilet so your vehicle must be fully self contained. One site is a drive through concrete slab, the other two are grassed sites. The grassed sites are next to each other and the slab site is on the opposite site of the driveway. There is a free public dump point available at Neerim South (a 10 minute drive north) 10 minutes drive to the larger township of Warragul. Firewood and eggs from our happy free range hens can be provided for an additional fee. Please only use the provided fire pits and no fires are allowed on total fire ban days. There is no access to the main house or paddocks unless accompanied by the property host. There is some traffic noise during the day but the nights are peaceful. Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they remain on leads at all times. Each site is limited to one vehicle and van or single campervan. Should you have a larger group and want to bring additional vehicles please book an additional site. We hope that you enjoy your stay with us.

Our lovely sanctuary of Peace is just 1 hour East of Melbourne along the M1, (and then only a couple of kms off the M1). Situated in West Gippsland, Casa Cucina is a feast for the senses from the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau, the Bunyip State Forest, the lush green valleys, to the rivers and streams… there is always something to do in West Gippsland for the curious. Further exploration in the area may include Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries close by. The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space we welcome you to. The river is shallow for paddling, as well as ‘swimmable’ (at your own risk), a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. It awakens the creative juices to be in such beauty in nature. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family. We also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet. As we only take one booking (group or solo) at a time you and your group will enjoy exclusive use of this peaceful space. A maximum of 4 vans on River block and 2 on adjoining paddock, in one group. Our river block can hold up to 4 caravans (under 10 metres) and a couple of tents in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans. This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your group. If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space. As a reminder, all campers will need to be Self Contained as we have no toilet facilities, no access to fresh water, cold showers only and no cooking facilities. Kinglake East End

91 Gordons Bridge Road was once part of a pine plantation that had been planted in the late 60's and harvested just prior to the Black Saturday fires. Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season. It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. Birds watchers will enjoy a variety of bird life that inhabit the area including eagle hawks, fairy wrens, kookaburras, rosellas, parrots and yellow tailed black cockatoos when in season. The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. For the serious wine lover the property is within 15km of the Yarra Valley Wine Growing area with many wineries offering tastings.

We also allow campfires only when fire restrictions aren't in place - which is often all summer. Children under 3 are free, but for insurance purposes, please mention them in the comments. Day visitors are $20 per person, which incudes a donkey patting session. This property has an overall capacity to ensure that our number of visitors remain low. This not only ensures that campers recieve the space and peace they look for in a campsite like this, but also so that we can ensure the bathrooms can be kept clean and not overloaded. This is also a part of our COVID safe plan. Due to this overall capacity it is important that you book for the number of people that you intend to have stay, as while we try to accomodate increases to booking numbers, they are not guaranteed unless booked. If we have met overall capacity then we may not be able to approve increases to booking numbers. This is for the comfort and safety of all our visitors. Our walk the neighboring farm (105 acres) Eagles, cockatoos, black cockatoos, kookaburras, magpies, rosellas, king parrots, Gang-gang cockatoo, honey eaters can be spotted most days and lyrebirds if you’re keen to go looking. Small playground with swings, slide, monkey bars and sandpit. Taxi service - The Graceful-Goat to get you around to the local eats and wineries. The Kinglake market is on the 4th Sunday of each month 10-2pm - Except December which is the Sunday before Christmas - twilight 2-7pm - No market in January. The Fern Glade

Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

Angel Peace

Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions. The property consists of 5 acres with a river, so you can set up a tent right next to the river and fish for dinner. The house is about 100 meters away from the camping area, but there are about 1000 Oregon trees that are 50 years old, so you can't see each other well, so you can enjoy nature freely. 4WD is recommended for easy access. We recommend tents/swags. 4WD with Heavy trailer is still very hard to enter when it is wet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. There is a communal fire pit available, so guests can enjoy a campfire on the cool evenings. Please abide by any local fire restrictions during your stay. You can walk from my house to Noojee Heritage Centre, Trestle Bridge, Alpine Trout Farm, and Noojee Hotel for a delicious pizza, Cool beer from tool sheed and coffee from red duck cafe. You can drive to Toorongo Falls, Ada Tree in 10 minutes and Baw Baw Ski Resort in 40 minutes.

We are a 1hr 15mins drive from Melbourne, though Summerhill Vineyard will have you feeling a world away. The Yarra Valley offers quality local food and wine, breathtaking scenery, walks, cycling tracks, and tourist destinations like Healesville Sanctuary, Lotus Water Gardens, Warburton Rail Trail and much more. Or.....you can chill out and just enjoy the serenity and views from your campsite. My family live on the property, close to 1/2km from the campsite, far enough away for your complete privacy, or close enough if you need us! Mountain Mineral Spring is a neighboring farm with Fowkes Family Farm ( King Proteas), New Owners Richard and Mai with Host Tamara (Fowkes Farm) are working together to offer this beautiful site for Off grid stays. - These sites do not have a toilet. No power or water tap. But there is a spring to collect running water. This site has easy access to drive in with plenty of space to turn around. 2 different flat areas to choose from to set up. This property has two sites that can be booked, two different listings - (see Fowkes family flower farm for other listing) Only a 20-minute walk to the town of Kinglake and a minute drive. This site offers plenty of open space to safely have a campfire. Plenty of fallen branches and trees to cut up for firewood. Or purchase wood from the local food works, closing at 7pm OR the servo closing at 9pm. This site is on a 105-acre farm, with a private spring water swimming hole, water can be collected from the running water spring. The farm is home to a mob of kangaroos, please watch from a distance. You will also spot and hear wild deer. The site does have plenty of grassed area, but we will let you know there is a bit of black berry bushes that we will start removing over time. (This area we cannot use chemicals close to the water ways.) We have 2 goats Eve & Rain to help with the weeds and greeting our guests. This site has a lot of history from bottling water from the old factory, (no longer in use), Potatoe and berry farming and raising sheep. You will feel so relaxed in a private and tranquil site. We manage 2 sites on this farm and 2 sites on the neighboring farm. Taxi service - The Graceful-Goat to get you around to the local eats and wineries.
