Relaxing Easter Weekend

We loved our Easter weekend at Mt Hope vineyard. The Hosts Tony and Sandra were friendly and welcoming. The site was quiet and picturesque, it made for a great relaxing time! The location was perfect to explore what the Yarra Valley had to offer. The site was flat and well maintained with easy access for our 21” van. We’ll be back!

We loved our camping experience here! Such beautiful scenery, lovely wildlife and wonderful feel camping in the vineyards. So much to do in Murrindindi and Toolangi state forests, and plenty of amazing places to eat and drink at your doorstep. Woke up to eagles roaming, hot air balloons in the distance, and lovely ducks on the dam. Thank you for a wonderful experience 😄

No privacy and threat of pesticides

On our second morning we woke to workers in the vines a few metres away ,the host chose not to at least advise us of this. We then decided to go for a walk and hope the work would be finished later in the afternoon .Not long after our return a guy in a tractor arrived and told us to close all windows and doors of our van and stay inside for at least an hr because he was spraying pesticides within a few metres of us. We contacted the host and asked for this not to happen while we were there and thankfully it didn't. We understand its a working vineyard but clearly there is no privacy and consideration for the health and safety of guests . We will not return and would not recommend the site and clearly if the listing stated , ( possible workers around and spraying of pesticides we would never have booked.)

Hidden Gem in Dixon's Creek

We recently stayed at this hipcamp site and had a great experience. The views were spectacular – from sunrise over the mountains to stargazing at night. The site itself was well-maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by vineyards, making it the perfect escape from the city.
We will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic, and affordable getaway! 🌲⛺🌄

Easy to locate and responsive upon arrival.
Good little spot.
Not extremely private as you are within line of sight from the house on the property and neighbouring houses but certainly far enough to have no issues at all.
Booking site states camp-fires allowed and firewood provided; however, this appears out of date given no firewood or established place for a camp fire. Despite this owners were happy for us to have a small camp fire on the ground which we were appreciate of.

Relaxing overnight stay
Mt Hope Vineyard was the perfect overnight stay. We were looking for somewhere quiet and pretty to relax before heading into Melbourne for work. We watched a storm roll over which was spectacular. The cows next door and sound of birds were an added bonus.

What a gem in the perfect location in the Yarra Valley!
We were guided to our camp by the wonderful host Tony, and set amongst the vineyard overlooking the hills and dam. This spot is in prime location to all the destinations within the Yarra Valley.
It was private which was ideal for our child free weekend away!
We will absolutely be back to this gorgeous little spot and will make sure we book in to Tony’s French Italian cooking classes too!

One of our better stays, location is great if you are wanting to explore the Yarra Valley. The site is clean and relatively flat with lovely views. We met Tony, who was very welcoming (and also runs the cooking school on the property).

The views were beautiful. We saw a lot of kangaroos and the sunset was epic. We had a bit of luck because it rained all afternoon, but at sunset it was clear and dry. A lovely evening and a quiet night.

Beautiful location and incredible sunsets over the vineyard. Sandra was also lovely and very helpful. We stayed on Site 1 and it was quite a steep slope and bit of a challenging site to get set up, over a 1m fall from end to end of our 22ft van. The ground was also uneven in places so had to be careful not to trip in a few holes. Location-wise nice and central spot to explore the Yarra valley. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Our short stay was relaxing taking in the picturesque views around the dam and enjoying the quiet location, after the noisy water pump stopped. We were told it was on and would run out of petrol soon which was almost an hour after we arrived.

Overall we had a lovely stay at Mount Hope. Pros: The property has lovely views over the neighboring vineyards and the hosts are friendly. It’s close to popular wineries, such as DeBertoli, the beautiful Alowyn Gardens and Healesville. Cons: The site we were on was mostly level, but quite uneven. During our stay, the hosts decided to pump water from dam behind us, running a loud pump at 7am on Sunday morning. (They did notify us the day before, but surely this could’ve been done when guests weren’t booked in.) The pump spilled water under our van and mud over our camp chairs. Also, they sprayed the vines with fungicide during our stay (we have two young kids and a dog). I understand it’s a working vineyard, but they could’ve planned this for when guest were not staying.

Wonderful weekend away

We absolutely loved our stay at Sandra’s vineyard property. We camped down on the flat spot by the dam with friends. We really liked how quiet the property was, yet how close it was to Yarra Glen, Healesville and so many other local attractions. We also loved having our dogs come with us and being able to have a fire at night. Would definitely recommend this property to others and I’m sure we’ll be back!

I was advised that due to excessive rain my booking had to be cancelled. I am very new to hipcamp and did not realise that I had to go into my booking and do the actual cancellation. More information about the process would have been appreciated.
