This space truly lets you isolate into the surrounding mountain Ash and fern's with nothing more than a rusty & reliable ole lean to for shelter, frog's and crickets for friends & the evening crisp air by a warm ground fire.

In the dry autumn season it's been fine for a 2wd/AWD SUV. It's a little slippery midway up the hill but just punch through high first gear and you'll be fine. Great 5G Optus reception, the open garage is great to park under/camp under. Not far to Kirth Kiln, Gembrook, Shiprock falls, tomahawk track, Bunyip SF etc. dam is nice but breeds mosquito's right next to the site and the 15min track is overgrown and ends suddenly after 8 mins walking. K & D firewood in Gembrook should be selling Redwood bags here, who doesn't love a fire 🔥. Shaggy dog came to visit and enjoy a couple of dog friendly treats. Definitely still worth the money given the local competition. Owners are close by but far enough away through screened natural bush, still feels private. Ground fire is awesome.

Easy access, a little slippery going down hill to the camp site after the recent rains but was manageable in 2WD.
Camp site is close to the house, semi obscured, but wasn't an issue as the owners weren't there.
Worthwhile brining your own firewood as it was all very wet in the surrounding area due to the thick vegetation.

In a very beautiful area, a lovely little place with nice walks, a little dam and friendly hosts.
Do take serious note of the steep and slippery track leading down to the campsite. 2WD cars are a serious risk of not making up again without a tow if there is any rain.

It was a very peaceful and lovely private area for camping, with a big shed that can offer extra cover. The vicinity is truly wide and spacious. The host is also very assisting and friendly.
Instructions were easy to follow as well! We had a wonderful stay.

Easy to find camp-site, plenty of privacy. Host responsive with information. Great location not too far from the city but you feel like you're much further away.

We really enjoyed spending the night at this beautiful property. Despite the main house being close, it felt private. The hosts were lovely and welcoming. The hosts’ free-roaming dog was friendly. Gorgeous bush land. Many thanks!

We had a great time at this camp site.. Lucas was quick to reply to any questions or queries we had which really helped as we have two dogs.. the surrounding landscape was exactly what we expected and will be going back in the future 👍

It was a nice, relaxing spot surrounded by trees - lots of birds around. We went in summer so had no issues with driving up and down the driveway. The host is super friendly and responsive over messaging. You can hear the road, particularly motorbikes and trucks throughout the day and night. Also heard gunshots quite a bit at night! No toilet or running water which was a bit of an issue but we knew that signing up to staying there. There was a bit of rubbish around too. Overall would recommend for a nice spot close to Melbourne!

Nice little spot to camp out with the family for the weekend. Directions to the site were clear and it was all very tidy when we arrived. It rained while we were here but it really wasn't the problem it could've been because of the shelter. We did get a lot of little flies our second night, but being next to a dam that shouldn't have been a surprise, just need bug spray next time. The kids had a ball in the nature, the kookaburras laughing during the day were fantastic and the frogs croaking at night put us to sleep. Lots to do in the surrounding area to keep us busy but could've kicked back all day too.

I had a great stay. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a nature escape. However, be prepared for some truck noise in the mornings. Overall, a lovely experience with a welcoming host!

Thanks Lucas, for a wonderful, peaceful stay in the forest. The undercover area was perfect for my car camping trip: plenty of space to spread out even when it rained. The walks in the woods were the highlight. So quiet and serene, and smelled amazing too. Huge thank you for your help in navigating the terrain. FYI campers: AWD Subaru Forester did not handle the muddy driveway at all - even with X Mode, though it would likely have been fine if I’d had the correct wheels on. Thankfully, Lucas’ guidance saved the day. Bonus visit from the friendly pupper (Obi?) when I was leaving!

Absolutely loved camping here, was only 45 min away from me but felt like the middle of nowhere with the rainforest views and the sounds of nature. The open field is also amazing to just lay in and watch the stars at night. Dogs loved it too. The slight hill to get in/out was dry and we had no issues or slippery-ness. Some leeches and mosquitos - to be expected - just check your ankles before you go to bed 😝

For vans/camper trailers.. do not enter outside summer. We tried our cvan in April (Australia) and slipped on the way down.. my daughters Corolla could not get out.. our 4wd alone skidded to their driveway.. did not attempt with cvan... $440 later we got our cvan out. No one on site during this and no immediate contact info for this site.. pretty frustrating and pathetic. No help from anyone.
The walking track and flora was fine!
As for the site we couldn't access a flat spot for the cvan. I'll stop.. too many downers for us.

Perfect escape for a quiet forest getaway. The property is quite large, so lots of forest exploring.

This site is NOT accessible by car. After a light drizzle we were unable to get even a Landcruiser FWD back up the track without multiple attempts. The track has no gravel- just mud. We had to hire a bobcat to tow the caravan back up to the main path, as a tow truck wasn't able to access the site and RACV etc. wouldn't cover it. This took hours of calling around waiting for assistance and cost a lot too. We were unable to contact the host at all. There wasn't a flat enough site for the caravan either so it sat at an almost unusable angle. I can only really recommend this site to people willing to park outside someone's house and lug a tent down a slippery slope to a paddock/ dam site. The town itself is beautiful but this site is not worth the risk. I would hate to see what happens in proper wet weather. There were planks of wood on the sides of the track that have clearly been used by previous guests trying to get cars their back up the track. This needs to be taken off the site and fixed up.

We had a great time here. The structure is great and provided plenty of cover for tents and kitchen area. It's close to Melbourne with lots of great things to explore nearby.
A 2wd did struggle to get back up the track - there was no rain but ground was damp. They key was to get a good run up. It's also a shady campsite, but with lovely tree surrounds.

Really nice place right in the trees. With a tin roofed section you can set up a tent and be protected. Caravan parking areas are limited and was a challenge to get it level but we got there.
Great place to set up and do nothing at all and relax by the fire, and listen to some tunes or just to listen to nature.
Lucas and his family are absolutely fantastic, came to welcome us and offer anything that we may need.
Would highly recommend a trip here

Overall had a lovely stay. Felt like a secluded getaway with all the trees and privacy from the main house. Great location not too far from Melbourne and nearby amenities.
Getting the trailer level was a little tricky but manageable. Lots of insects as it was close to the dam. Could here the neighbour's music all day up to 11pm plus chainsaws, road sounds etc that dampened the serenity for us unfortunately.

Surrounded by tall trees. Was lovely watching the black cockatoos, crimson rosellas and king parrots flying over ahead and listening to the frogs at night. The covered area was perfect to set up our camp kitchen and know we would stay dry if it did rain.

Lucas and family are lovely people and very helpful. The site is at the back of the property and adjacent a forest basically with birds singing in the evening and morning. Site access is 2WD in the dry and definitely a 4WD when wet. We had a 2WD and parked up at the house on the day that had some rain. As per photos we set up under the free standing structure where the site is very protected from the weather letting us only having the inner of the tent set up. We loved our 3 days enjoying a campfire and riding the Warburton Lillydale trail which is about 10 minutes away and one of our favourites. Our German Shepherd Thor loved playing with Obe a lovely dog of the hosts.
