Incredible central and private location, set back off the Snow Road in Oxley, Northeast Victoria, boasting natural riverplain terrain with diverse ecology, lagoons and rivers onsite. There is plenty to do in the area from wineries to walking tracks, snow fields to breweries, not to mention renowned Brown Brothers Winery and the Milawa Cheese Factory, just down the road.
There are tracks from your campsite that link to the sealed bike path which joins Wangaratta, Oxley and Milawa townships together. Then only a short walk, bike or scooter ride and you are at Miranda Winery, King River Cafe or Oxley Park (with playground and BBQ). There is also a communal swimming hole (King River) at the Stan Allen Reserve just before the Oxley Park. This is particularly great for the campsites that, although are perched on the banks of the King River, don’t have their own designated swimming hole. Also a key feature is, the irrigation during summer months keeping campsites green all year round as well as the natural lagoons to paddle in with the kayak.
If you are a keen fisherman, the King River is known for Cod and if you have booked one of the southern most sites you will be able to paddle up the river in a kayak fishing, (kayak not supplied).
There are no toilets available onsite and campers must be self-contained keeping in mind, there are toilet facilities at the Oxley Park. Pets are welcome but, must be contained within your site as there are livestock and other campers to consider.
For more accuate information pertainnig to each site check out the specific listings/sites. Some sites are set up for group bookings and others for couples with pricing to match. If you have a large event in mind and wish to book out the entire farm, please reach out for further discussions. Choose either to relax with a book and a glass of wine and do nothing or go and explore the many attractions of the wonderful North East area including the beautiful King Valley, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen plus many other gorgeous areas that have Art Trails or Silo Art Trails, all of which are 30-60 minutes drive from the property.
Billabong Flats Farm sites are very spacious with each section private from other Campers with a fire pit provided at the site plus an abundance of open area for recreation for kids and dogs to run around.
The King River Site is an extra large riverside bush campsite that could accommodate a large group of Vans (10 at least). It has a designated fire pit and Campers will need to have own Toilet/Shower amenities and be and leave no trace behind when leaving us.
Accessible for most types of vehicles. Dog friendly if well behaved and controlled and won't chase the Cattle. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale (see Extras).
We are close to the region’s attractions including 15mins drive to Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, many Lookouts and National Parks, Lake William Hovell, Restaurants, Wineries and Distilleries of this special area.

It is also less than 30 minutes to Wangaratta, Beechworth, and Myrtleford not to mention a few minutes from the Snow road.
This site is for self-sufficient campers only. All guests must have their own toilet and all waste must be taken when departing to keep the natural beauty of the area.
We also ask that noise levels be kept to a minimum to preserve the peace of the surrounding wildlife. Well-behaved dogs must be kept under control at all times and must not interfere with the other animals. Maximum two dogs allowed. A flexible check-in/out time can be arranged upon request. Nestled on the river bank, among the gum trees and pines, are beautiful shady, camping spots, welcoming self-contained campers, with plenty of room for you to set up comfortably.
A stone's throw from camp you'll find a great place to fish for Murray Cod and crays, a spot from which to launch your canoes or paddle boards, the bank is quite steep and you can access using a ladder which is shown in photos. There is access to many wonderful cycling tracks and rail trails in the area.
There is a corner shop within walking distance, and great cafes and restaurants close by. Corowa Chocolate and Whisky Factory Museum, Golf Club, RSL and cinema. With the wineries of Wahgunyah and Rutherglen just over the bridge!

Situated in NE Victoria, and just over 2 hrs from Melbourne in the Samaria Valley is our 200 acre property. We are
located between Mansfield and Benalla at the base of Mount Samaria, which has many sights to discover including a summit or waterfall hike, both of which are all well worthwhile.
We are a farm producing beef cattle and we have a few pet sheep and goats. Our property offers several spacious sites to sit back and relax or base yourself for adventure.
Great riding on nearby local tracks, watersports and fishing at Lake Nillahcootie (15 min from here) or just exploring the great outdoors.
Bring yourself, the family, friends and dogs are welcome too.

There are several campsites to choose from.

Facilities included - 2 hot water camp showers, 2 toilets and a camp kitchen for all guests to share.
Campfires are permitted.

Incredible central and private location, set back off the Snow Road in Oxley, Northeast Victoria, boasting natural riverplain terrain with diverse ecology, lagoons and rivers onsite. There is plenty to do in the area from wineries to walking tracks, snow fields to breweries, not to mention renowned Brown Brothers Winery and the Milawa Cheese Factory, just down the road.
There are tracks from your campsite that link to the sealed bike path which joins Wangaratta, Oxley and Milawa townships together. Then only a short walk, bike or scooter ride and you are at Miranda Winery, King River Cafe or Oxley Park (with playground and BBQ). There is also a communal swimming hole (King River) at the Stan Allen Reserve just before the Oxley Park. This is particularly great for the campsites that, although are perched on the banks of the King River, don’t have their own designated swimming hole. Also a key feature is, the irrigation during summer months keeping campsites green all year round as well as the natural lagoons to paddle in with the kayak.
If you are a keen fisherman, the King River is known for Cod and if you have booked one of the southern most sites you will be able to paddle up the river in a kayak fishing, (kayak not supplied).
There are no toilets available onsite and campers must be self-contained keeping in mind, there are toilet facilities at the Oxley Park. Pets are welcome but, must be contained within your site as there are livestock and other campers to consider.

If you have a large event in mind and wish to book out the entire farm, please reach out for further discussions. The Secret Island site does have a swimming spot but not as safe for little ones.
The river is ideal for swimming, floating and fishing. Choose either to relax with a book and a glass of wine and do nothing or go and explore the many attractions of the wonderful North East area including the beautiful King Valley, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen plus many other gorgeous areas that have Art Trails or Silo Art Trails, all of which are 30-60 minutes drive from the property.
Billabong Flats Farm sites are very spacious with each section private from other Campers with a fire pit provided at the site plus an abundance of open area for recreation for kids and dogs to run around.
The King River Site is an extra large riverside bush campsite that could accommodate a large group of Vans (10 at least). It has a designated fire pit and Campers will need to have own Toilet/Shower amenities and be and leave no trace behind when leaving us.
Accessible for most types of vehicles. Dog friendly if well behaved and controlled and won't chase the Cattle. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale (see Extras).
We are close to the region’s attractions including 15mins drive to Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, many Lookouts and National Parks, Lake William Hovell, Restaurants, Wineries and Distilleries of this special area.

We are located less than 15 minutes away from Moyhu where there is a fantastic cafe, pub, and shops, and Milawa, where you can enjoy the award-winning Brown Brothers winery and Milawa Cheese Company. It is also less than 30 minutes to Wangaratta, Beechworth, and Myrtleford not to mention a few minutes from the Snow road.
This site is for self-sufficient campers only. All guests must have their own toilet and all waste must be taken when departing to keep the natural beauty of the area.
We also ask that noise levels be kept to a minimum to preserve the peace of the surrounding wildlife. Well-behaved dogs must be kept under control at all times and must not interfere with the other animals. Maximum two dogs allowed. A flexible check-in/out time can be arranged upon request. Our property is located on a 10-acre block on the banks of the Murray River. We are approximately 3km from the town centre but have a private and secluded feel with no close neighbours. A peaceful base camp to retreat back to after exploring the region.
Nestled on the river bank, among the gum trees and pines, are beautiful shady, camping spots, welcoming self-contained campers, with plenty of room for you to set up comfortably.
A stone's throw from camp you'll find a great place to fish for Murray Cod and crays, a spot from which to launch your canoes or paddle boards, the bank is quite steep and you can access using a ladder which is shown in photos. There is access to many wonderful cycling tracks and rail trails in the area.
There is a corner shop within walking distance, and great cafes and restaurants close by. Corowa Chocolate and Whisky Factory Museum, Golf Club, RSL and cinema. With the wineries of Wahgunyah and Rutherglen just over the bridge!
There are sunny and shady spots but sun cannot be guaranteed all day so please bring a generator or hire ours if you need extra power.

Such a beautiful site, right on the Murray. We booked both sites with friends, so it was lovely having our own space, nice and quiet. My kayak is light weight so access to the river down the ladder was fine. Some great fishing spots. You can walk into town in about 20 minutes. I’d love to stay there again.

What an incredible spot! David was one of the most helpful and generous hosts, and we really appreciated having him around, he sorted anything we needed and was super welcoming. Absolutely beautiful location, loads of space for all of our tents and camper vans right by the creek in a beautiful green field. David is an absolute legend! Greeted us at the gate on the way in, and consistently checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed, even bought me a glass for my Guiness! Would 100% visit again, 10/10.

We had almost no wind, so there was a little white noise carried from the Hume, but otherwise a very peaceful site.
Would be great to return when the river is a little higher.

Its a good spot and David is a good host. However, we went during a busy period, and although the sites are generous, if your neighbours decide they want to kick on until 2 am, you're on your own. Meaning the cerfues are loosely enforced. To be fair David issued a partial refund. Off peak it'd be an excellent spot.

Amazing property and very well organized. Amenities were a bonus and the best I have seen in such a rural place. Ginnie was lovely, welcoming and had us all setup at the corner camp. Will come back with the kids and stay a little closer to amenities, so many cool spots. Thank you for sharing your part of the world!

We loved camping at Nillawarre Woodland camp site, Ginnie and Gary were very welcoming hosts.
Our site was a very peaceful flat area beside the dam with trees providing shade in the afternoon, the views all around were stunning.The ammenities comprising of showers, flushing toilets and camp kitchen were a short 3-4 minute walk from the site.
The property backs onto the Mt Samaria State park so the location is perfect for exploring this park and lake Nillahcootie is only about 20 minutes away.
With plenty of room to stretch the legs and explore we would definately like to come back in the future.
