This property boasts both excitement and practicality- located just minutes from Wangaratta CBD, whilst still being secluded like you’re miles away from anything. Light a fire in your sites very own fire pit and bring your furry friends! All dogs are welcome provided you clean up after them, and they are well behaved as there are cattle on neighbouring properties (and sometimes ours), so please restrain if likely to cause trouble The ovens river is the perfect versatile adventure playground whether you’re throwing in a line, kayaking down the stream or just sun bathing in a floaty - Camp Ovens has it all Please note that our property is a flood plain and is subject to flooding during heavy rain falls and melting winter snow. There could be a small possibility that your booked would be cancelled due to flooding. If this is the case and we make the cancellation then a full refund will be processed.

The Beach is the BEST site of our large acreage of pure bliss we call "Camp Ovens" where you can pitch a tent or park caravans where the banks of the glorious Ovens River meets the blocks unique billabong.  This site is our preferred spot when we camp at "Camp Ovens" with our friends & Family, so availability is not always guaranteed as we do enjoy being there ourselves often. this site boasts a covered charcoal BBQ and tables with direct easy access to the river via a sandy/Stoney beach area, it also boosts both excitement and practicality- located just minutes from Wangaratta CBD, whilst still being secluded like you’re miles away from anything. Light a fire in your sites very own fire pit and bring your furry friends! All dogs are welcome provided you clean up after them, and they are well behaved (neighboring properties have cattle.)  The Ovens River is the perfect versatile adventure playground whether you’re throwing in a line, kayaking down the stream or just sun bathing in a floaty - Camp Ovens has it all.

King Of the North is a "King size" Northern section of our large acreage of pure beauty we call "Camp Ovens" where you can pitch a tent or park several caravans near the banks of the glorious Ovens River, depending on the river levels, there is a rather large gravel bank/beach area that is easily accessed - an ideal spot to play with the kids, read a book, have a cold drink on a warm summers day or what ever else tickles your fancy, choice is yours. This site boasts both excitement and practicality- located just minutes from Wangaratta CBD, whilst still being secluded like you’re miles away from anything. Light a fire in your sites very own fire pit and bring your furry friends! All dogs are welcome provided you clean up after them, and they are well behaved (neighbouring properties have cattle.) The Billabong is a rather secluded site away from other sites and yet another great section of our large acreage of pure bliss we call "Camp Ovens" where you can pitch a tent or park caravans banks of the blocks unique billabong. Depending on the time of the year, the billabong can be dry or rather full, and flowing fast with lots of fish in it (around summer it's likely to be low/dry and easily walked across to access other parts of the property and the magnificent Ovens River a couple minutes walk away This site boasts both excitement and practicality- located just minutes from Wangaratta CBD, whilst still being secluded like you’re miles away from anything. Maza's Table is situated right on the river with amazing views up and down stream and is pure bliss we call "Camp Ovens" where you can pitch a tent or park caravans where the banks of the glorious Ovens River meets the blocks unique billabong. Maza's Table is a smaller site directly adjacent with a approximately 3 meter drop to the river - suited more to fishing - very shady and lovely flat grassed area. Short walk to the beach area for a swim. This site boasts both excitement and practicality- located just minutes from Wangaratta CBD, whilst still being secluded like you’re miles away from anything. The Beach On The Ovens
We camped at The Beach over Easter, and as described it was a beautiful big grassy site at the end of the track with a gentle slope down to the beach and easy access to the river. It is the most expensive site - almost double the cost of others. Unfortunately we discovered on arrival that the site had been double booked - a large group set up their camp to one side of our site! We also believed we had exclusive access to the beach on our site, but each day people from the other sites walked right through our camp and set themselves up on the beach. We were happy to pay a premium for privacy, peace and quiet, but we got none! So we won’t be back 😞

Nibblers Nook
Nibblers Nook is a great private spacious camp spot at Camp Ovens. It’s hard to tell from the photos & map of the sites, but it’s really quite private and away from other campers (closest being at King of the North - but you still can’t see each other!).. the site had been mowed and prepared and had more than enough room for our single van and 4wd. There’s a step embankment down to the river right at your doorstep which gives you great views, but easy signed access to the river for sitting and swimming about 100m north next to the ‘king of the north’ site. Given the busy Easter long weekend, it was peaceful and relaxing sitting around the camp fire right next to the river, and so close to town for everything you might need. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back and try some other sites at Camp ovens as well!

Maza's Table
We all loved camping at the Maza's Table site. Loved the views of the Ovens River and how quite and peaceful it was, it was perfect. The kids liked the small walk down to the beach for a swim. We will be back.

No where in the ad did it say access to the river required scaling down a cliff face, photos in ad looked like access to river was easy and it was not easy at all. The nice photos were of the other side of the river. The caravan camp was good but not really great if you want easy access to river.

Our second time staying at Camp Ovens Piper 2. We were very pleased to see the slightly hidden little beach access to the river was still there making access to the water easy. Those camped at Piper 1 ended up using it too, as there wasn’t really any great river access for them. Walking in to town for lovely breakfasts is really easy from Camp Ovens, as are visits to the nearby breweries and wineries of the King Valley. Thanks once again for a wonderful stay.

King of the North the Ovens River
King of the north was a lovely spot, by far the most secluded on the property. A little road/traffic sounds from the alpine road across the river but you can tune it out after a while. The river was beautiful and we got lots of lovely birds. Lots of cow poop everywhere so you need to watch where you step a lot of the time. Thanks for the lovely spot, we had a wonderful and relaxing time.

The billabong is a great camping spot. Nice and grassy. Plenty of wood from fallen trees, but bring a chainsaw and an axe. Very close to Wangaratta town if you need something.

The Beach On The Ovens
What a beautiful camp, great big space to share with extended family. The beach is lovely and the shelter was good for the storm that came through over Easter Sunday. We enjoyed walks and bike rides, fishing, kayaks and winery visits. We all loved this spot and would love to come back again.

The Beach On The Ovens
A beautiful spot to call home for a few nights. Secluded and peaceful. Lots of spots to swim and fish. Across the river is public so there were quite a few people popping in and out over there but our campsite had no interruptions. A short drive into town was also a bonus. A fire pit and shelter were really handy and well used. Thanks Peter for such a great stay and always being on standby to help. We had a great time.
