Cradle Mountain, the Great lake, the upper Mersey Valley, the Western Tiers and extensive World Heritage wilderness areas are all within an hour or so of Stooge Farm. Stooge Farm is located in its own peaceful valley along the Mersey River and has some of the best fishing, swimming and kayaking opportunities you could find anywhere. There are numerous campsites along the riverbanks, as well as beautiful walks along the river. Stooge Farm is a safe and secluded place away from the hustle and bustle of the mad modern world. As well as camping, it is also available to rent for a variety of purposes; as the ultimate fishing retreat, for wedding, birthday and other significant life events, as a yoga, meditation and lifestyle retreat, or simply the ultimate holiday destination. Deep Glen is a beautiful, quiet 5 acre property at Eaglehawk Neck, gateway to the stunning Tasman Peninsula. Hiking, surfing, fishing, swimming, diving are all at your doorstep, not to mention the famous Three Capes Track and the Port Arthur Historic site just a short drive away. If you want to see the coast shown in these photos, both the Tasman Island Cruise and Wild Ocean Tasmania offer excellent trips Bookings are for two adults; children under 16 are free. It may be possible for larger groups to occupy one site - please enquire before booking. As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs. There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van. Take the opportunity to enjoy this very special place on the lake to pitch a tent or park your van by the yurt. You can lay back and star gaze the myriad of stars, and even take a jump off the pontoon into the beautiful cool waters, or bring your kayaks and paddle the shores. Take the opportunity to use as a base to visit the Florentine valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. The yurt has been there for about 14 years and we have hosted many different groups such as rowing events, parties with bands, bike riding groups and horse riding, amongst other enjoyable activities. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. I will consider opening more sites only for single groups on application.

Our site is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located just an easy 20 minutes from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart. The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes. Our Hipcamp site has full council approval.

Craigie Knowe Vineyard

Craigie Knowe Vineyard is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We offer a Big Breakfast Thursday through to Monday. Needs to be booked on arrival. We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Sounds Rivulet Campsite

Sounds Rivulet is a private bush campsite at Murdunna for people to enjoy while visiting the Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas. Campers can expect to have the entire site to themselves, shared with only the local wildlife. Only one group can book the site at a time. Sounds Rivulet is a small freshwater stream that runs all year round and is less than 100 meters from the campsite. Sounds Rivulet is pet friendly and campfires are allowed in the designated area on suitable days, not on total fire ban days. Please check the TAS Fire website for updates on fire bans. The campground has easy access for large vehicles with a turning circle, suitable for people with two-wheel drive cars, large cars towing caravans and boats, not for very large caravans ( a guest found it too challenging to get their car plus 9 meter caravan into the site) . There is a composting toilet for campers to use, please bring your own loo paper. There are also public toilets located 2km away, near the Murdunna shop which stocks a small range of groceries, supplies, and fuel. There is also a jetty and boat ramp at Murdunna. The campsite is centrally located and provides a perfect base to explore the natural beauty the surrounding area offers. A five-minute drive south will bring you to amazing views over the Tasman sea cliffs and the Cubed Coffee Van at Pirates Bay Lookout. A further two minutes south will take you to Eaglehawk Neck Beach. Dunalley Bay is a five-minute drive north and a perfect place to watch the sunset over the Bay. The Tasman Peninsula is home to world-class fishing and hiking, there are also a range of surf breaks for all abilities and a sheltered beach a short drive from the camp at Sommers Bay.
