Craigie Knowe Vineyard is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We offer a Big Breakfast Thursday through to Monday. Needs to be booked on arrival. We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.Sites are allocated on arrival, with plenty of level ground, and all with lovely views and privacy. You'll be able to park up next to the Pinot Noir vines, a short walk to the cellar door area, where there are plenty of tables and chairs. Our Restaurant is open Thursday through to Monday each week for lunch. Sample menu is shown in photos. We also offer a big Breakfast Thursday through Monday, need to be booked on arrival. All guests need to be self-contained, with their own toilet please.

Beautiful Winery
We had 2 lovely nights camped amongst the vines at this beautiful winery. We had a quiet and peaceful time. When we arrived we had a wine tasting and cheese platter. Glenn was an excellent host and very informative. Highly recommended visiting this winery or even better camping here.

Beautiful vineyard, fabulous host!
Glenn’s beautiful vineyard property and amazing hospitality far surpassed our expectations. Would highly recommend Craigie Knowe to anyone looking for a peaceful stay among the vines. And as a special note, the range and quality of wines produced at Craigie Knowe are among the finest in Tasmania, so a cellar door tasting is w must for any prospective visitors!

Craigie Knowe Vineyard
The vineyard is beautiful, unfortunately the host did not seem prepared for our arrival which had been booked. ( three small campers) We were offered a place next to an open container with rolls of netting in front and two car bodies lying around. It was of putting to say the least. We moved away further within the vineyard and settled in a nice spot between two vineyard patches. We were there for two nights, no one checked to see if we were happy or needed anything, until we checked out when we provided feedback. The place has great potential, and we would like to see it thrive, but if you are going to charge people to stay, set up nice places to camp, and look after your guests.

Craigie Knowe Vineyard
The first location we were shown was near some old containers and derelict cars. Managed to find a good site near the vineyards though. Was a little pricey for what we got. The neighbours dogs were quite noisy throughout the night.

It is not cheap for what you get. Thought there might have been free wine tasting and the place the person suggested we camp first was next to their dump. That said once we found a spot around the corner next to the vines, it was a lot better, and we were satisfied with that site.
