We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

I hope to build an outside kitchen at the nearby shed, but for now campers need to be self-contained for their cooking and washing up, or else take the short walk to Kingston Beach and the excellent cafes and restaurants there for a bite to eat. Food scraps must go in the compost bin on site. Visitors are welcome to enjoy a fire when conditions allow it. Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (Please don't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath at extra charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon. Wildlife on the property includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots. You are welcome to bring your small dog but please ensure it's under control at all times. Wildlife are at risk if your dog is a hunter and roams free. Tyndall Beach (the Kingston dog beach) down the road is where your furry friends can have a run. Walk them to the beach on a lead and let them off there. I have an older Jack Russell who is afraid of big dogs, sorry. This is the perfect place to experience a little bush luxury before taking off on your Tassie adventures. I very much look forward to meeting you!

A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders. Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat. The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river! You're welcome to bring pets too.

The location is central and close to a number of activities and events. The area is known for amazing bushwalking, kayaking and all types of nature based activities. We are also close to annual shows and events such as Taste of Huon and the Cygnet Folk Festival. Lots of local markets, music venues and Farmgate sales, each weekend. Try the delicious local fruit, vegetables and seafood/ meat....add some fresh herbs and seasonal produce from the abundant organic garden. Onsite we have kayaks and safety equipment for guests to use(deposit required). Located in Ranelagh, 2 mins from Huonville, 45 mins from Hobart, 20 mins from Cygnet, 10 mins from Franklin. Your hosts offer several multiple bed options and plenty of parking for any sized vehicle in the behind paddock which offers a great dog exercise space. We are a small farm with animals and gardens on the edge of residential convenience. Pets are welcome, as are fires in the designated pit.

Weekend Trip to Cethana camp ground

I was greeted on arrival and shown the appropriate camping spots. Caretaker was super nice and friendly. The campsite has all the right amenities- fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave so it’s easy to organise your food. Also a pizza oven and barbecue. Owner came over with muffins on my first morning which was super nice. Chicken seemed to undo my tent pegs while I was away during the day. Overall great stay with lovely views.

Good and clear communication from the host and clear instructions on how to find the site. Good size sites and clean quality toilets .I will definitely be staying here again in the near future

We loved it here after 3 months on the west. Beautiful sunsets. The sheep had little lambs that were running around. The pig had 10 piglets running around. Vegie gardens we in abundance. We purchased some fresh meat from Guy before we left. We would stay again.

This is a great Hip-camp, highly recommend staying here. Great little lake, kayaks provided a paddle boat it was great fun and a walking track around the lake. We were only 15 min away from Cradle Mountain with the cost of the stay it was so worth it.

Camping at old Mac’s met our needs for a 1 night stay close to Launceston. Toilets were clean but was a bit of a trek to get to (slight uphill) from the unpowered sites and only cold water for handwashing. Communication from Lucas was great.
