There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. view fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wedge tail eagles or sea eagles wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

Basic bush camping beside a man-made lake on a 100-acre rainforest property. Only one person/group allowed at any time, and guests enjoy a private walking-track into the Tasman National Park to Tunnel Bay and can explore the property at their leisure. From Tunnel Bay, Shipstern Bluff is easily accessed, or a Cape Raoul circuit walk is a unique day-walk option. Early check-in and/or late check-out is fine. BYO firewood.
Please note: The main track is in excellent condition, but is very steep in parts, and the weather here is changeable and often extremely wild (as in, gale-force wild), thus this place is best suited to fit and well-prepared bushwalkers/campers. If your expectation is a quiet night around the fire, you may well be disappointed.
Your own small bathroom is available (with toilet and sink - hot water). Fresh drinking water is provided. Free Wifi access near the residence, otherwise patchy Optus and Telstra around the block. You can charge your devices at no cost.
The driveway and the property are not suitable for large campervans and typical commercial-style camping; this is a steep and slippery bush block. Two-wheel drive vehicle-access is generally fine, but care is required on the driveway.
This is a private residence in a uniquely quiet and secluded location on the edge of a high-value national park. Due to serious fire risk and the potentially devastating impact on the surrounding area, campfires are highly restricted and permitted only in safe weather conditions. Check with me first.
The property is largely undisturbed temperate rainforest, featuring creeks, springs, a 35-metre waterfall (after good rain), great plant and animal diversity. You may spot a resident Tasmanian devil, and you’ll certainly be surrounded by native marsupials—plus the odd enthusiastic greeting from my doodle dog, Roo.

Located just a 20 minute drive from the Hobart CBD, this beautiful 0.67 hectare coastal bush property is set in a little valley right by Kingston Beach, Browns River and Tyndall Beach. It's just a short 5 minute stroll down the road to the beach, or up the road to the start of the Alum Cliffs Track.
Activities you can enjoy here include birdwatching, bushwalking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing, bike riding, dog walking.
You'll be staying in a fairly new comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom tucked under my house. There's a double bed made up with fresh linen. You'll enjoy hot showers, a flushing toilet and almost complete privacy. There's mains water. With prior notice, you could use the washing machine inside the house and hang your clothes on the clothes line strung between trees.
Parking for two cars and/or caravan/campervan is easy. A circular driveway surrounds the house with a driveway extension.
I hope to build an outside kitchen at the nearby shed, but for now campers need to be self-contained for their cooking and washing up, or else take the short walk to Kingston Beach and the excellent cafes and restaurants there. Food scraps need to go in a compost bin on site.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a fire when conditions allow it. Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (I'd rather you didn't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath for a small charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon.
Wildlife is abundant and includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots.
You are welcome to bring your small dog, but please ensure it's under control at all times. Wildlife are at risk if your dog is a hunter and roams free. Tyndall Beach (the Kingston dog beach) down the road is where your furry friends can have a run. Walk them to the beach on a lead and let them off there. I have an older Jack Russell who is afraid of big dogs, sorry.
I think this is the perfect place to experience a little bush luxury before beginning or ending your Tassie adventures.

We are located in Grindelwald, near Tamar Valley Resort. There is a designated camping spot behind the shed, which looks out to our dam. Our property borders Muddy Creek with bush land. The short walk through the bush to the creek may at times be at a reduced flow during summer.
We have made our place available for those who wish to stay short term and camp, leave their camper, tent, or caravan while sightseeing other places such as Launceston city or the Tamar Valley. It is a one hour drive to the Spirit of Tasmania, Devonport.
It is a peaceful location, where we currently accept one camping group at a time. Campers must be in self-contained vehicle or tent with their own amenities, and take all waste with them. Children under 12 stay free.
We can only accommodate comfortably one large caravan, motorhome, or vehicle per visit. The area behind the large shed has a picnic table set up and a fireplace, with lovely bush views. It is approximately 20 metres away from the house.
Legana shopping centre is a 5-minute drive away and Launceston city centre is just a 20-minute drive.
We are a family of four occupying this property and look forward to welcoming you.

Craigie Knowe is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania. Please note Hipcamp charge an additional charge on top of the $25.00. Please look at our website for options.
The cellar door is open 11-4, Tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers!
We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you.
Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too.
Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history.
Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Here, we grow sunflowers, potatos and other vegetables. We enjoy welcoming guests to camp or to stay in one of our vacation rentals on the property. And guests love staying here! They particularly enjoy the meandering bush walks that lead to lakes and hidden waterfalls.
Campers have access to power and excellent sweet and soft well water, as well as toilet facilities. Access for all types of vehicles is good, with plenty of space to turn around.
This is a farm animal sanctuary so guests are asked to respect animals by not cooking them here. We appreciate your respect in this regard.
Japa Hill makes for a safe base to explore the region, with Boat Harbour just 30 minutes drive away and Cradle Mountain two hours away. The Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal is just 74 minutes drive away.

Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders.
Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat.
The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs.
The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river!

Only downfall is that there is only one bathroom and shower so it could become an issue if the site is full.
I loved the chicken that came to visit us which had sadly passed away overnight when we were staying there 🙁

Great location for camping! Trent was really friendly and he and his dog met us at the gate to show us which was the best spot. We were next to a little flowing creek. Communal toilet was good, clean and protected from the elements. Would definitely recommend this spot!
