There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

I offer private bush camping beside a small lake on a 103-acre rainforest property. Only one group is allowed at a time, making this an exclusive camping and bushwalking experience. A toilet is available in the owner’s home, and fresh drinking water is provided. Stays are limited to a single group, with a maximum of four people, so the space is entirely yours to explore in peace.

Craigie Knowe is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania. Please note Hipcamp charge an additional charge on top of the $25.00. Please look at our website for options.
The cellar door is open 11-4, Tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers!
We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you.
Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too.
Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history.
Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Located just a 20 minute drive from the Hobart CBD, this beautiful 0.67 hectare coastal bush property is set in a little valley right by Kingston Beach, Browns River and Tyndall Beach. It's just a short 5 minute stroll down the road to the beach, or up the road to the start of the Alum Cliffs Track.
Activities you can enjoy here include birdwatching, bushwalking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing, bike riding, dog walking.
You'll be staying in a fairly new comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom tucked under my house. There's a double bed made up with fresh linen. You'll enjoy hot showers, a flushing toilet and almost complete privacy. There's mains water. With prior notice, you could use the washing machine inside the house and hang your clothes on the clothes line strung between trees.
Parking for two cars and/or caravan/campervan is easy. A circular driveway surrounds the house with a driveway extension.
I hope to build an outside kitchen at the nearby shed, but for now campers need to be self-contained for their cooking and washing up, or else take the short walk to Kingston Beach and the excellent cafes and restaurants there. Food scraps need to go in a compost bin on site.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a fire when conditions allow it. Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (I'd rather you didn't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath for a small charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon.
Wildlife is abundant and includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots.
You are welcome to bring your small dog, but please ensure it's under control at all times. Wildlife are at risk if your dog is a hunter and roams free. Tyndall Beach (the Kingston dog beach) down the road is where your furry friends can have a run. Walk them to the beach on a lead and let them off there. I have an older Jack Russell who is afraid of big dogs, sorry.
I think this is the perfect place to experience a little bush luxury before beginning or ending your Tassie adventures.

We grow alot of our own fruits and veggies which you will get opportunity to see and taste when camping on our property.
We have a large fire pit, and a little private one, that you’re welcome to enjoy for cooking, or just for relaxing. We can provide fire wood for an additional fee.

Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders.
Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat.
The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs.
The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river!

Craigie Knowe is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania. Please note Hipcamp charge an additional charge on top of the $25.00. Please look at our website for options.
The cellar door is open 11-4, Tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers!
We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you.
Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too.
Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history.
Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Located just a 20 minute drive from the Hobart CBD, this beautiful 0.67 hectare coastal bush property is set in a little valley right by Kingston Beach, Browns River and Tyndall Beach. It's just a short 5 minute stroll down the road to the beach, or up the road to the start of the Alum Cliffs Track.
Activities you can enjoy here include birdwatching, bushwalking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing, bike riding, dog walking.
You'll be staying in a fairly new comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom tucked under my house. There's a double bed made up with fresh linen. You'll enjoy hot showers, a flushing toilet and almost complete privacy. There's mains water. With prior notice, you could use the washing machine inside the house and hang your clothes on the clothes line strung between trees.
Parking for two cars and/or caravan/campervan is easy. A circular driveway surrounds the house with a driveway extension.
I hope to build an outside kitchen at the nearby shed, but for now campers need to be self-contained for their cooking and washing up, or else take the short walk to Kingston Beach and the excellent cafes and restaurants there. Food scraps need to go in a compost bin on site.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a fire when conditions allow it. Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (I'd rather you didn't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath for a small charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon.
Wildlife is abundant and includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots.
You are welcome to bring your small dog, but please ensure it's under control at all times. Wildlife are at risk if your dog is a hunter and roams free. Tyndall Beach (the Kingston dog beach) down the road is where your furry friends can have a run. Walk them to the beach on a lead and let them off there. I have an older Jack Russell who is afraid of big dogs, sorry.
I think this is the perfect place to experience a little bush luxury before beginning or ending your Tassie adventures.

Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders.
Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat.
The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs.
The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river!

Easy to follow directions to get there with good roads. If you enjoy complete peace and quiet with just the sounds of birds, chickens and the occasional piglet then this is the place for you. We had a good nights sleep with no road noise. They do have a couple of portaloos if you need to use them. Would recommend this Hipcamp and would definitely consider visiting on our next trip to Tassie.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Mount Gnomon Farm. The views are spectacular at any time of the day. Family and pet friendly location. Relatively easy instructions to follow. Bonus with the restaurant on site for weekend feeds. We was lucky enough to time our visit with live music, sampled local beers and house cider and the farm to table was perfect. Only negative is there could have been more attention given to amenities, and we couldn't locate the shower easily (or at all). Remi the farm dog was friendly and would freely roam, so if you dont have pets that enjoy others company be mindful when considering this location. Overall we will definitely be back in the future.

It also had a lovely little bathroom attached, which Trish kindly occasionally checked in with to see if it needed cleaning over the week we were there. The bushland there is beautiful, plenty of pademelons, wallabies and birds on the short stroll down to the creek. Such a beautiful space, would recommend.

Stayed at Cradle Mountain Fishery & Campground and had a great experience. The site was really clean and well maintained, which made settling in super easy. It’s also very easy to find, even if you’re not familiar with the area. The free WiFi was a big bonus too—especially after a long day outdoors. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

It has a calm and peaceful atmosphere, which made the whole experience very relaxing.
I expected the toilets to be pretty dirty, but they were actually quite clean for portable toilets, and the smell was well managed.
The dishwashing area is quite small, and the dish soap wasn’t always available, so I’d recommend bringing your own or doing the dishes after you get back.
The staff were very friendly and made our weekend even better.
I’d definitely come back!
