We are located in Grindelwald, near Tamar Valley Resort. There is a designated camping spot behind the shed, which looks out to our dam. Our property borders Muddy Creek with bush land. The short walk through the bush to the creek may at times be at a reduced flow during summer. We have made our place available for those who wish to stay short term and camp, leave their camper, tent, or caravan while sightseeing other places such as Launceston city or the Tamar Valley. It is a one hour drive to the Spirit of Tasmania, Devonport. It is a peaceful location, where we currently accept one camping group at a time. Campers must be in self-contained vehicle or tent with their own amenities, and take all waste with them. Children under 12 stay free. We can only accommodate comfortably one large caravan, motorhome, or vehicle per visit. The area behind the large shed has a picnic table set up and a fireplace, with lovely bush views. It is approximately 20 metres away from the house. Legana shopping centre is a 5-minute drive away and Launceston city centre is just a 20-minute drive. Please check with us if you are unsure.  Legana shopping centre is a 5-minute drive away and Launceston city centre is just 20-minute drive.

Grindelwald Peaceful Retreat
We couldn't recommend Sarah's listing enough. The listing is exactly how it is described - peaceful. We parked next to the private pond and loved waking up to the lovely view. Sarah and her family were so welcoming when we arrived and her children were keen to show us their animals. Our son especially loved the guinea fowls. It was so convenient being able to refill the jerry cans from the tap on the property! It was great having the picnic table and communal fire there with plenty of wood to burn. Very handy also having Legana a 5 minute drive away with a great coffee shop and a Woolies supermarket. We can't wait to stay again!

Thank you to Nigel and Sarah for being accommodating and kind! Just an FYI for fellow tent campers, it’s unclear on the listing if we could camp with a tent but a quick message to Sarah confirmed we could. If you’re an animal lover, this place is for you! There are free roaming guinea fowls and chickens and they had an anti snake device installed and we didn’t see any! There is a campfire with lots of wood, a toilet in the shed. The family house is very close to the site- with options to camp around the other side of the pond for more privacy, suitable only for small setups! Overall a very nice stay- thanks to Sarah and Nigel.

Very nice spot, not far from Launceston! Camp spot was closer to the property than photographed however Nigel & Sarah were lovely and the chickens were funny!

Doing great things, frogs are loud but lovable , easy to find and easy access for smaller van or tent . Great aspect birds and roosters all around the area. Great fire pit and wood plentiful. Thank you Sarah for having us on your property.

It was lovely staying at Grindelwald Peaceful Retreat! Sarah's family is just so lovely and welcoming. The campsite is perfectly located for anyone visiting Launceston or the Tamar Valley. The view from the dam and the little walk to the river is stunning. We had a great time wandering around and enjoying meals and family time by the dam or little campfire. We can see ourselves coming back soon.
