Most afternoons the local Rikali (Australias Otter) can be seen diving for Yabbies. We are an 11 minute drive to the very popular Main range national Park which has some beautiful hiking trails and is the perfect place for a picnic. We have a great country pub close by as well which is a short walk down a country lane. Pets are welcome but please ensure they are under your control and that you clean up after them. This beautiful 200-acre property is the perfect place to get away from it all. We have a hilltop area where you can view the sunrise from the east and the sunset in the west, with absolutely no light pollution. On a clear night, the galaxy is astounding to view. The property has multiple areas of creek frontage with both kid and adult-friendly swimming areas. There is a good area for using a small kayak (depending on the creek levels) or floating along on an inner tube, and beautiful views and wildlife abound. You may even get a visit from our beautiful king parrots. You can also enjoy bushwalking, birdwatching, and fishing, and there are even deer on the property, but they’re rarely seen. If you’re keen, you can take your 4WD to the end of Emu Creek Road, where you can start your trek up to the old plane wreck. Bushwalking to the Steamers (for the very experienced) can be accessed at the end of Emu Creek Road. We are a working cattle farm and have around 40 head of cattle.

Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. Your initial view of the property coming over a Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. However, 600m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge, Hart Hill exposes a lovely undulating fold baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs Thanes Creek. Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is based west of the property in a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek and an old windmill for a backdrop. The properties history is colourful. In 1869 the area was a hub for gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky. Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, and if you dug in some of the rock heaps you might get a shock when you uncovered more than gold. Visitors can enjoy campfires, fossicking, including swimming, kayaking, fishing and more dependant on seasonal changes to the creek.

Once owned by a lawless bushranger, Angus McDonald, legend has it that Angus and his gang stowed their loot out at the property. Some say to this day no one has uncovered his gold treasure. The last of Angus and his gang can be seen hanging from 'hang mans tree' in the middle of his hideout. Such a great story, if only it was true... or is it?

You can go for an amble throughout the farm or do a larger hike and take in the spectacular views from the various high points. (by arrangement only) Breeding Stud Sheep is the main agricultural activity on the Farm and there are pigs in the newly built piggery, poultry, farm dogs, horses and other farm animals featured. You can drive into Warwick which is only 5 minutes away, go for a country drive or take a trip to Stanthorpe, Allora, Yangan and other towns for the day or to visit markets and events. There are various National Parks you can visit to go hiking and we can organize horse riding and other activities for you and your family. So we hope Callemondah Camping Calls you to come and stay and we welcome you to stay for a day, a weekend or longer and spend some time on our fantastic farm.

I was told that as I journeyed around Australia I would find a place to settle and Maryvale on the Darling Downs was love at first sight. I am happy to share my love for this property and welcome travellers to enjoy the tranquillity of the riverside and enjoy some of the walks and other features of the area. Welcome to She-oak Hideaway, located in Maryvale by the riverside. The riverside is a peaceful place with two large camping areas and firepits. There are 2 large waterholes suitable for swimming, fishing and kayaking. Down by the riverside you will see Water dragons, turtles, ducks, swamp hens, many birds, occasional Wallabies and Koala. Campers must be self sufficient with their own toilet. Rubbish bins are provided for campers and a treated rain water tap is available.

Such a great story, if only it was true... or is it?

170 acres of paradise located in Tarome, just 8 minutes from Aratula and the Cunningham Highway. The campsite is best suited to those chasing a quiet, private area to enjoy the best of nature along with unbelievable mountain views. The property is the home base for a grass fed beef business with a sustainable focus so whilst you will share with some beautiful cows and calves, the secluded(and fenced off!) campsite is private and serene. Tarome offers some of the best views of the Main Range and Cunninghams Gap, all of which you can enjoy from the site. The sunsets here are spectacular. The Warrill Creek runs through the property, adjacent to the campsite and is home to an abundance of wildlife and vegetation all of which you are welcome to explore. The creek runs seasonally and makes a beautiful swimming area, but is just as enjoyable when dry allowing for a great path to explore the area. The site is only a short drive off the main road so the property offers an ideal spot for short stopovers, or alternatively use it as a base to explore the rest of the Scenic Rim. The abundance of walking, hiking, fishing or biking opportunities in the area are endless, or if you are more into relaxing into some food tasting and wineries then you’ve hit the jackpot. Just an hour and a half from Brisbane CBD! In lieu of camping with nature there are no amenities and limited service with some providers, but if you are chasing something in particular please let us know. We are happy to help. By staying with us you are helping a young family achieve our dream of running a sustainable, eco friendly food production business, we genuinely appreciate your support.
