Private Riverside Bush Camp – Condamine River Enjoy a peaceful stay at our private bush camp located on the banks of the Condamine River. Set amongst open paddocks with a natural bush backdrop, this spacious, unpowered site is perfect for campers looking to switch off and enjoy the quiet. We offer only one campsite so you will enjoy the space to yourself. There’s a shaded swimming hole ideal for a refreshing dip, along with great fishing spots along the river. Evenings can be spent around the fire pit under the stars, taking in the sounds of nature and wide-open country skies. The site is suitable for both 2WD and 4WD access and can accommodate up to 6 caravans in one large camping area. Please note this is a fully off-grid site with no facilities, so campers must be self-contained. Good to know: One private campsite Unpowered 2WD and 4WD access Fire pit available (fires subject to conditions) Swimming & fishing in the river Pet friendly No facilities – self-contained campers only A great spot for families or groups wanting a relaxed riverside camp with plenty of space and privacy.Guests have plenty of room to unwind, with wide‑open grassy areas shaded by beautiful gum trees. The campsite stretches along the Condamine River, offering peaceful riverside spots as well as more open, breezy areas further back. There’s ample space for tents, campers, and caravans, and the natural layout provides both privacy and a strong connection to the landscape. Access to the riverbank is reasonably steep, but well‑defined paths make the descent manageable. Because the campsite is exclusive, guests can enjoy fishing and swimming in complete privacy. Once inside the gate, visitors simply follow the main road around the hill and down past the house, keeping the river on their left, then continue through the open gates to reach the campsite on the left.

Such a great place to stay. Saw plenty of birds. We were lucky enough to see the resident platypus as well as a large carp.

We had a great 2 nights her. The camping spot was amazing, firewood provided and the dogs got to run around off the lead. Highly recommend Matthews place for anyone looking for a great place to look at the stars. A big shout out to Matthew who bought us a second load of wood, as it was a little nippy. Thanks for having us.

Beautiful private campsite right by the river, with plenty of space and flat ground suitable for tents. We very much appreciated the pile of chopped firewood awaiting us! Lots of birdlife, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Highly recommend staying at Odessa. My only wish is that we’d had more than two nights to fully soak up this lovely location.

We had an excellent 5 days at Matt’s place in Elbow Valley with wife and kids. Pitched offgrid by ourselves along a quiet stretch of the Condamine river was awesome. He supplied a solid pile of firewood, fire pit and there was additional dead wood around. Loads of bird life, easy drive to Stanthorpe/Girraween. Highly recommend for a peaceful off grid trip.

We absolutely loved our stay at Odessa in our motorholme . So very private and peaceful. Extra large fire pit was a treat! Loved the sound of the water flowing. Although we didn’t fish we saw a fish & turtle! Watching the young calves play was a highlight A lot of walks across the property was lovely Highly recommend

Loved Odessa! Perfect, quiet spot on the riverbank. The dog loved it. We happened to get the first cold rainy weekend there in a while, Matthew dropped us off some nice dry fire wood. Views across the river over the paddock are amazing, even in the rain was still a great relaxing spot. Will definitely be back.

This has been one of our favourite spots to date. It’s private, the dogs spent the weekend off leash exploring the camp area and the beautiful swimming hole without issue. The host was wonderful, couldn’t recommend it enough.
